Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: None of the ceiling fan lights worked. Had only one light in the guest bedroom. Had to use the closet lights to see. Wi-fi is to sporadic in the master bedroom to use due to lack of signal. Pac-man game only works for one user not two. Almost fell in hall bath tub due to lack of a rubber mat; which I found later under the sink and installed. Hallway bath sink stoppers were so clogged up that I almost didn't get them to spring open after use.There are ants in the kitchen and found ant spray under kitchen sink; so they've been there for awhile.The TV and cable box were unplugged in the guest bedroom. No one from management checked the condition of the condo before we got there and we got there late. This is an older condo but these are things that should have been fixed considering the money we spent to rent.

We have stayed at Gulfside before and in several different units. They have all always been very well kept and clean.On this trip we had to call and ask for maintenance to come and take care of a sink that was stopped up and they came over and took care of it that day.Other guests that we met in out building were friendly as well.

Nice play to stay but lacks personality

We try and always stay in 1 of 4 condo complexes due to proximity of Tom Thumb. You don't realize how convenient it is...until it's not! We walk to Tom Thumb everyday, sometimes twice a day. This condo was very nice. But it lacked personality. Furnishings were generic and there wasn't really a beach vibe. The arcade game was a bonus. Maintenance was spot on and there quickly when we needed them. Bedframe in spare bedroom was broken - actually not put together correctly. When we recognized the problem, maintenance came and fixed the same day. Rooftop pool was awesome. Despite having stayed at this complex before, we'd never used the pool. We thought it would be too hot. Quite the opposite. There was a great breeze up there. And the couple times we used, was either empty or maybe 1 other person there. Overall, this was a great condo. But would be even better with some beach decor.

The condo was spotless with updated living room furnishings and drapes. The balcony is the best on the island. The building is showing its age and could benefit from a spruce up. The pool area is kept clean and is so enjoyable due to the view The WiFi in this unit is spotty however Brooks and Shorey responded immediately to address this. We appreciate the consistent service from the management company!

We did have some issues but maintenance was there the same day to fix the high priority issue. The door handle to the balcony was broken and when showed to maintenance he said he would have to get the part and fix it. He never came back. The parking is worst if you drive a big vehicle. Parking is under the building and it’s hard to get a full size truck or suv under. The dryer in this unit doesn’t work very good. You have to start the cycle several times before anything is dry. The pool was green looking. Did report that but it never cleared up. We will continue to book with Brooks and Shorey but just won’t stay here. We thought the roof top would be awesome but not when it’s green looking. I know that’s not taken care of by Brooks and Shorey but it plays a part as to if someone wants to stay there or not. Same with parking.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Third day into our stay we woke to the kitchen and hallway flooded with water from the fridge. The ice maker was pouring water. Called the number for maintenance and 30 minutes later they showed. In the meantime I was emptying buckets of water flowing from the ice maker. We had to buy ice to get us through the rest of the week. Also couldn’t get tv in the master to work. Tv in the other bedroom didn’t work either. Water pressure in the master shower wasn’t strong enough to rinse hair in the shower. The other bathroom was a little better so we had to use that one. Had rain a few days so a DVD player would have been nice but did not have one in the unit.

Unit in need of updates

First the picture you see on the website is not at all what the unit looks like! All of the appliances are outdated and worn out. The carpet in both bedrooms is so nasty and stained, we were afraid to walk on it without shoes. It is need of a deep cleaning. The furniture is extremely worn. Also beware if you enjoy sleeping on your vacation, every morning at 7:30 the construction on the building outside your bedroom starts!

It was terrible to even sit on. Rollaway was no better. We had to go out and buy an inflatable mattress. Men’s restroom by pool didn’t work so it was too dark to utilize!

Beautiful views & secluded beach

Overall good stay. Ver y clean and kitchen well stocked. The negatives: The arcade game did not work, balcony door handle was broke and hanging down, and the dryer did not function well, took 2 hrs to dry. The condo seemed to be crumbling as pieces of ceiling falling in underneath parking garage. The positives: great rooftop pool, the staff was responsive in office, new furniture, Xplorie, etc. Would stay again.

Reviewer Comments: I did call the office 3 times because the arcade game would not work, this is the main reason we choose this unit because the game was a big hit last time & my 4 year old grandson was so excited. We had 2 days that we couldn’t even get on the beach due to weather & double red flags. No one ever came to check the game nor contacted me. I’ve always had the best service with Brooks & Shorey so this was quite the surprise.

Our stay was nice other than all of the construction in the area and on our building.the construction was not disclosed at time of booking nor at check in, yes the VRBO had a note added to there site, but we did not recieve an email or notice.

Skip this unit

Very disappointed in our stay. What initially started out as a great stay, quickly turned into a pain in the butt. Construction was taking place next door and I mean HEAVY construction for the last 3 days of our stay. It began at 7:30 AM….banging, sawing, hammering, nailing, everything you can imagine. My 7 month old was unable to nap which made for a pretty lousy 3 days. When I reached out to property management and told them, they took my number and never called me back. I had to email them to ask what the deal was and they basically offered an apology as an acceptable waste of 3 entire days worth of my money. Not only that but the master bedroom smelt so strongly of urine and they told us there wasn’t anything they could do. They just put some air fresheners inside the door for us to plug in and that’s all. Overall, a waste of my money and we won’t be back due to the extremely poor lack of customer service and the overall uncaring mentality of property management.

Everything was great about the condo. Million dollar view from wrap around balcony, close to restaurants and shopping, very quiet and laid back neighborhood. Perfect place for a beach vacation. Will stay there again.

the 4 of us had a great time Friday Sept. 3 - Thurs. Sept. 9 then we must have gotten new neighbors because for most of the 2 1/2 days of our trip we could barely stand to use balcony someone was using we'll just say smoking something. We didn't complain because couldn't pinpoint who it for sure was.

It’s just the best!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The perfect location, quiet building, great people to work with!I would not stay any other place on the island. Thankful to have been here the past two summers!
