A lot of the doors don’t open or shut. House wasn’t very clean. Picture were a little more generous than reality. Only 5 forks in the whole house and about8 towels for 12 people. But maintenance was prompt for the broken kitchen faucet

property was poorly maintained. Several of the doors malfunctioned in particular one balcony door would get you locked outside if it wouldn’t left ajar. refrigerator water and ice did not work physically the building needed some work.

The house was fine. There were a lot of outlets and light switches that didn’t work. The ice maker didn’t work. There was mold/mildew on the ceiling… The main issue was the key got stuck in the front door and we had to leave the location insecure. We had to stay the night without the lock as well. We had to have some of our friends stay behind on Friday while we waited for the maintenance team, who came later than promised and smelled like alcohol. Which caused two of our friends to miss their reservation on the fishing trip we had booked.The top floor guardrails were also not secure. We sent an email based on our conversation Thursday with one of the customer service reps, and are waiting for a refund of some sort.

Roaches, flies, and gnats.

Shame on you, VRBO, for listing this property. There are so many things wrongs with this rental house, I don’t know where to begin. Let me start by saying that our family lived in Galveston for five years in the early 2000’s. We make a trip back about every other summer… This is probably the 10th rental we have had in Galveston. Every other rental we have had has been fantastic. Until now. When we arrived, there were 3 trash cans under the house, all completely full and so smelly. These are right by the entrance into the house so you have to go by them every time you come and go. Roaches, gnats, and flies in the house, probably because if the trash. The yard and underneath the house are a mess. The patio furniture is run down. The yard hasn’t been mowed in weeks. There is a huge piece of siding ripped off the house and laying in the front yard as well was lots of trash. There are three showers in the house, however the water pressure is so poor that only one person can shower at a time. There are 4 ceiling leaks in the house. One in the pantry that dripped on our food. One in the kitchen cabinets, so the water is dripping onto the dishes. One dripping on the bunk beds. And one in the downstairs bedroom. There is black mold on the ceiling of the master bathroom. Outdoor shower is clogged. The rental company said they would send someone out, but never did. The house sleeps 12 but has eating utensils for 4. So many great rentals in Galveston, don’t get this one

Amazing views and steps to beach

In contrast to some of the reviews, we had an amazing stay overall. I think in any property there is potential for hiccups. The home was clean, lawn manicured, trash receptacles had been emptied. This property is steps away from the beach. Plenty of sleeping spaces for our party of 10. The temperature in the bunk room and extra bedroom was a bit higher than in other parts of the home however other parts were well cooled. This home has amazing views from every room. If you have kids, bring beach toys with you. Overall, amazing stay.

Think twice!!

Stay here if you like A view with a storage container in front of the house next door being remodeled. Stay here if you like not getting answers from the rental agency. Stay here if you prefer 75-80+ temps in your rental. Stay here if you prefer to not have any kitchen cleaning supplies including garbage bags, dishwasher soap. Stay here if you like just having a few forks and spoons for a family of 12. Stay here if you prefer the bottom porch to be covered in nastiness including old forks, crazy straws and cigarette butts. In short, if staying in a beautiful house is all you want then this is the place for you.

Vacation weekend

Location in Pirates Beach is great. The property is not being maintained. The pictures that are posted are very deceiving and were obviously taken when the house was newer. The outside lawn is over grown and the two sego palms cover the walkway which is dangerous since the lighting was out. There is a grill that is completely rusted and falling apart in a heap. Trash 3 large roll cans had not been emptied for at least a month or longer so knats and the smell was horrible under the house. These knats had gotten into the house and were so bad you could not have anything on the counter in the kitchen. There was no kitchen trash can anywhere. The lighting in the spiral staircase at the bottom of stairwell did not work nor the light over entrance door so at night you are using your phone light to enter and then to get up the stairs. I reported this to Ryson Vacation and I receive a text saying they will forward to management and that is it!!! Did not try to send anyone out or anything. We were so disappointed since we have rented homes many times in Galveston!! The home could be quite nice if someone was actually taking care of it. Just Beware before renting. I do not like leaving bad reviews but please do something about this property.

Superb location

Property is basically about 150 feet from the beach with a great view of the ocean. It is not very busy but also only about 10 minutes to pleasure pier area. Multiple beds , TVs ,a small media room, WiFi included. Property has a high end ambience with modern fittings and a fantastic master bath! Highly recommended..
