Fabulous stay!

Loved the house for the size for our family. It had lots of common space and came well-equipped with most everything of what we needed. The location was an easy block and a half from the ocean and had a great outdoor shower. The owner was easy to communicate with and easy to work with.

Had a good time

Nice and clean place to stay. The walk to the beach is further than I believed it to be. Have to walk down the street to the public beach access. Nice neighborhood and short walk to restaurants. One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor away from the other bedrooms and bathrooms. All in all a nice place to stay

College and High School graduation celebration

This house was perfect for our stay. The house is in a nice quiet area with the sound of frogs in June, which I found quite charming! When some of us were ready to go to sleep and others wanted to play pool, the house was so soundproof that I could barely hear anything. We were able to use a linen service that came in and made the beds ahead of time, which I thought was equally nice. We used the charcoal grill and stove and microwave. Everything we needed for meals was in the kitchen. Don't forget to bring kitchen towels as we had to make a quick purchase at the dollar store so we had something to dry dishes with. Overall, everyone enjoyed the location and ability to walk to shops and the beach.

Our stay was great

We had a great stay at this house. The living space was great. The owner was great also. If I had to pick one thing that was not as good, it would be the mattresses on the beds. They were very very firm. If you like that great, but it affected my wife and I greatly with headaches and back pain. Other than that, nothing to report.

Family Stay

The house was a short walk to the beach making things really easy with kids. Plenty of space for the our family of six. Easy access to restaurants and shops.

Nice Place

It’s a nice little place to stay that is very conveniently located. It’s a little further from the beach than I originally thought, but still a very short little walk. It’s walking distance from multiple shops and restaurants. My younger two enjoyed shorting pool with me in the game room on the one rainy day we had. Overall- it was a nice place and a nice location.

We had a great time at Crow’s Nest!

Cheryl was of great assistance to us when we needed to know before hand what to bring with us and where we could shop for necessities. The house was very nice and cozy! Lots of pretty wall decor with positive sayings and some with Bible verses. It was fun staying in on stormy days to play pool downstairs and there are plenty of books to read during down time. The kids of course were happy for Netflix lol. The beds were comfortable, bathrooms and kitchen very clean, and the walk over to the beach was convenient! We were very happy with our stay and recommend this rental for anyone vacationing in this area!

Wonderful Stay

The home was spacious and comfortable. We especially enjoyed our short walk to the beach. My family loved the pool table. We had a great week! Great communication with the host family. We are thankful and appreciative.

Bad odor

The home suffered water damage in the basement at some point and this portion of the basement/garage was locked and inaccessible. Although the additional room was not needed, the musty odor permeated throughout the entire home. Upon returning from vacation, all of our clothes, much of which were never worn, had to be laundered because of the odor from the home. There needs to be a dehumidifier put in the basement and run continuously. Someone with respiratory issue could not have stayed in this house in its current condition. Also, no public beach access within stated walking distance. Fortunately we arranged beach access through a nearby hotel. Picture on website are not current. These should be updated as well. Not sure when the owner was last at this property but they really need to visit it. Furthermore after driving 9 plus hours to our destination and not being able to get in on time because it was still being cleaned. Which we patiently waited for her to get done. Then to walk into the stench of the home and wish that we had an alternative place to stay, so we could call the owners and ask for a refund.

This place has the 3 Ms for sure

Must, mildew, mold. Disappointed. Beyond disappointed. I have a 3 page word document of what was wrong and I cannot add it here. This house has an off the charts musty/mildew smell that permeated all that we brought and bought. The 4th bedroom is unusable. The smell is so strong it is almost petroleum like in smell. There is nothing the owner could have done to correct this issue other than to remove the walls in the lowest level and allow for the building to remain open on stilts as the other houses around it are. The owner knows about it too, empty plug ins and damp rids. There are NC state laws that prohibit rentals that interfere with health, habitability and safety. I came home with such respiratory issues I thought I had Covid and tested several times there and here. The issues cleared up by the end of the drive home. Regarding the other issues we had, they are too numerous to mention here. Buyer beware of the threatening contracts, the rules posted, the non refundable fee.

Memories were made

We really enjoyed our stay. The size of the house made it really nice for my family of Myself, wife, 3 kids, daughter-in-law and a baby. Everyone got there own private space and the common areas were plenty big enough to accommodate all of us. With it being just a short walk to the beach we’d definitely stay there again.

Totally worth every penny

The renting and check in process were very easy. The beach access was close ,everything you need is all right there. Chairs beach toys all available for use. Loved the neighborhood, totally worth what we paid. Will rent again in the future

Roomy and nice, but some issues.

The house is roomy and you are not on top of each other. It worked perfectly for our family. However, beach access further than we thought from description. TV access is confusing if not tech savvy. Grass not mowed. Found clothes left behind by other renters.

I grew up in the mountains of West Virginia and Gary in PA. We like to camp and go to the beach. We have two dogs 2 cats and chickens. We also feed several stray cats. Gary is an electrician and enjoys doing field work on the farm.

We have been visiting the Outer Banks (OBX) for over 20 years, enjoying the friendly people and the ocean. It is a great place to surf fish. Finally made our dream a reality and want to share this great area with you!

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

We loved the large living area in the Crow's Nest, how close it is to the beach. We enjoy the canals filled with fish, frogs and turtles. A visit from a white egret now and again is a nice touch. In the spring the peepers will sing you to sleep. Crow's Nest is in walking distance to a lot of places to eat and a wonderful area to jog or ride your bike. A straight walk to the beach is a great place to surf fish.
