This is the best location for our family which is why we stay here every time we go to Chicago! We love all of the restaurants and dining near by and it's just a block or two away from Michigan Ave. We use Spot Hero to park our car in a garage on the block over which is super convenient. The bedroom has two queen size beds and the living room has a sofa sleeper. It's perfect for our family of 4. We will stay here again!

This was such a great place! My bestie and I stayed here for a weekend, and it is a prime location. We paid for parking with spot hero (80 for 3 days). We walked to restaurants and bars. It is such a central location that Lyfts to other areas were only 10. Also, we loved the beds! So cozy and super clean. Only complaint was we didn’t have WiFi and the owner couldn’t get it figured out, but sure it’ll be fixed for future guests. We would definitely stay here again!

We loved our stay at this Brownstone! It’s the perfect location - very close to Rush St. and everything the Gold Coast has to offer, but also just a couple blocks away from Michigan Ave. The neighborhood is quiet with plenty of parking garage options. It was perfect for our family of 4

The property is in the middle of a very nice neighborhood. Safe and easy to get around. Everything is a walk or subway trip away. The property is clean and very nice. It was perfect for what we needed.

Perfect!

The location couldn’t have been better! Loved the neighborhood, loved the view, loved the unit. Be aware that it’s on the third floor with no elevator, but it’s worth the flights of stairs. We will definitely be back!

The host was very responsive and timely. The toilet wasn't flushing and a plumber arrived in an hour to fix it and this was the day before Thanksgiving. Some of the appliances are old and have issues and since we were there for the holiday we needed to heat up our Thanksgiving meal and use the dishwasher. We were still able to figure it out. We loved the location as it was close proximity to Michigan Ave and yet it felt like home. Would recommend for anyone wanting the classic Chicago experience.

Beautiful home. I felt very self and comfortable. The owner responded to our needs right away. Convenient walking to the beach and restaurants/shopping. My only feedback so that other's will know, is that you need to walk up a few flights of stairs which was not expressed in the description of the property. It made it more challenging for my 81 year old mother.

Grad trip

Me and my friends came here for a grad trip getaway, and found this property which was affordable and in a good location! Getting to the location was very easy and the neighborhood is very nice, everything is within walking distance almost depending on what you wanna do, in my opinion the building is extremely safe! The only thing is that the living room is missing a couple of lounge pieces, but that is it. Our stay day was very nice and we loved it and we definitely if we come back will be booking the same place!!

Not as advertised

Disappointed at oversll condition of unit. Very outdated, different furnishings than advertised. Beds creaked so badly it was hard to sleep. Poor water pressure in shower and only given 2 towels per person. Called about creaking beds was told they would send maintenance, they never showed. Location is only redeeming quality of this property.

The first impression I had of this place was not a good one. The staircase leading up to the third floor probably hasn't been vacuumed in months. A piece of electrical wire was laying on the staircase when I got there and was still there when I left. The first thing I did when I got in the apartment was to vacuum in there. It wasn't filthy, but it wasn't exactly clean either. My host sent a very nice welcoming email saying that if I had any issues I should contact him if I had any issues. I didn't bother with the cleaning issues, but the first morning there, the internet network for the unit had completely disappeared. That took a couple days to resolve. The host did however tell me the HVAC folks would be by the next day to address the A/C issue. Since the weather was relatively cool, I wasn't aware there was an A/C issue. A couple days later it was 80* in the unit at night. This was Friday. I was he couldn't get the HVAC folks there until Monday. Again, the weather looked relatively moderate, so I said to problem. Indeed, the HVAC guys showed up on Monday morning, and the temp got down to a reasonable 72. On Monday night I returned and the until was 81* again. I let the host know and he said he'd get back to me. On Wednesday, with heat indexes predicted to be near 100*, and with no word from the host since Monday night, I left and checked into a hotel for the last 4 days of my visit. There is a general lack of attention at this property. The location is great!

We stayed 3 weeknights. It's on the 3rd floor, all stairs. This information is excluded on the listing. The furniture is different than the pictures and incredibly squeaky, so much so that it affects sleep quality. The location is the only redeeming quality.I do not agree with other reviews about the cleanliness. It could use a professional cleaning, some of the dishes looked dirty, the shower tile is discolored. The main reason for my low review of this property is because of the temperature control of the unit. It was 80degrees the entire stay. When I asked if the A/C worked they said it "works fine". When I sent a picture of the thermostat settings to prove the temperature, like they asked, there was no response. I followed up the next morning with another thermostat picture and no decrease in temp. We left for the day and on return discovered the thermostat had been changed and the front windows were opened along with a message asking about the temperature. It was clear that either the owner or maintenance had entered the unit WITHOUT our consent. There was NO communication about needing entry for maintenance. And then they wanted to send HVAC three hours before check out the next morning! 0/5 do not recommend, will not return.

We found parking through SpotHero very close. The VRBO was as advertized for the most part, maybe missing one chair in the living room. Although we didn't use the kitchen, it looked to be lacking any real cooking items. It was clean, well kept, perfect location and felt very safe. Communication with the owner was exceptional. The positives: Wonderful location, spacious place, easy check-in/comings and goings, clean and safe. We didn’t cook so can’t comment on the kitchen supplies. The negatives: The listing shows much nicer furniture than what is actually in the apartment. That felt dishonest. Even the rug in the hallway was different, and the one that’s there is a cheap gray liner that’s coming up off the floor. The stained glass windows in the living room are very cool, but you can’t open them to see outside. The art is depressing. The beds are very loud. The owner should really consider making the place as nice as it appears in the photos. Some small upgrades would be honest and much nicer.
