Nestled in the heart of the Micheaux State Forest, you and your guests will have easy access to hiking and mountain biking out the front door of the cabin, including the Appalachian Trail just 2 miles away. The Caledonia Golf Course, Caledonia State Park with public pool, and Totem Pole Playhouse are each within 2 miles, with the historic Gettysburg National Military Park and Battlefield within easy striking distance. With 2 queen beds, 1 full bed, and a bunk room with 6 twin / bunk beds, there's plenty of space for everyone to relax and unwind. The cabin features all you need, including AC, heating, and WiFi.

My wife and I grew up in the surrounding area, and recently moved back after 10 years in Colorado. We are avid outdoor enthusiasts and this cabin has helped us get our two daughters (7 and 9) excited about being outside and exploring nature. We love spending time hiking, biking, building forts, and skiing at nearby Ski Liberty. Our family is excited to share our mountain escape with you, and hope you find it as relaxing and enjoyable as we do.

When we found this property we fell in love with it's charm and the fact that we had access to the mountains right out the door of the cabin. I am an avid runner and love being able to just put on my shoes and head out for a long trail run without the need for a long drive. We also loved the fact that less than two miles away there is a pool, a stocked fishing stream for kids only, and some nice playgrounds to keep our little ones busy. Additionally, the fact that it is only 20 minutes from our home in Gettysburg means we can head up to the cabin at the drop of a hat.

One of the main things that makes this property unique is the feeling of being in a remote mountain location, with the uncommon proximity to so many amenities. The setting of the cabin in the middle of the woods quickly takes your mind away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, but if you feel the urge to explore, or want to get the family out of the house, there are ample opportunities for both common and unique activities. There is swimming, fishing, hiking, biking, golfing, and a even a playhouse theater extremely close by, with skiing, wineries, farm markets, antiquing, horseback riding and restaurants all within a short drive. To top it all off you are 20 minutes away from one of the most important battlegrounds from the US Civil War, the historic Gettysburg National Military park, which draws over 1.75 million visitors per year.
