Nice and clean. with great view on high elevation. The host/caretaker was prompt to answer any question. Would appreciate throwing few more tools such as winer opener etc.

Great view, spacious and clean, friendly host!

Short walk to a great beach. The house was clean and had a great porch to set and enjoy the view with morning coffee and breakfast. Our host was friendly and helpful. If I ever get back to Vieques I would definitely stay there again!

Great family spot

Stayed ten days with three kids ranging from 5-12. Kids loved the games. Adults loved the views. Rental car is a must unless you only go to the small beach at the bottom of the hill. That beach was really nice for little kids. House provided chairs cooler and towels. They don’t leave leftover toiletries sunscreen or any kitchen basics so you’ll need to bring or buy.

Nice retreat in Vieques

The whole family really enjoyed our stay in the casa azul in Vieques. Car is absolutely needed to visit the island (reserve well in advance!) but the house is very close to a very nice and wild beach and well equipped.

Great view, quiet street!

We enjoyed this property, it had what we needed and the hammocks were amazing. This property is quiet and not overdone, the view and location to the wonderful beach made it for us.

Didn’t want to leave

We had a great stay on the island. The house was just like the pictures and we had plenty of room for a family of 6. So items were not available like a wine bottle opener, a baking sheet, but those were minor and we were able to adjust. The view and ocean breeze were amazing and property manager was great checking in to see if we needed anything. Can’t wait to come back.

Ok place

Unit was ok. Old unit that could use updates. Couch falling apart. Wouldn’t have been to bad except the second night we had several cockroaches in the unit. Upstairs group was great but if you had bad neighbors upstairs it could be real loud.

Very Disappointed (to put it mildly)

Just stayed here and do not recommend. The owner was nice enough to accommodate a date change after our flight got cancelled, but the property is very poorly maintained (pooled water, cockroaches, plumbing problems). Handyman was nice but said pooled water came from the foundation. Water pressure was really bad and bathroom sink did not drain. This was before the water pipe on the island broke and we lost water altogether, which was unavoidable and is fine. But there are signs of mold and they urgently need an exterminator and a plumber.

Interesting.... First : you change the date of a non refundable reservation a few days before for personal issues (you said flight cancelled...but people from the States arrived those dates...anyway) we do it free of charge and happy to help. Second: 1 day water was off in the whole island , you know exactly because i sent you the note on the newspaper, saying that water authority in Vieques was dealing whith the pipe. It was not my house, it was whole island problem. I told you , if you want to leave and change house, you can do it and i refund you , but you did not do it, you spend the 4 nights at my house and the last day (check out day) you ask me for a refund....which of course , i did not accept, as a result, your review is here. But do not worry , i send all the documentation to VRBO and they will check and remove, because blackmail with refunds....is not a fair issue. Then u start complaining for everything the last day to make your effort to stay free at my house more confident.... but blackmail does not work with us sorry.

Just the basics

Some tips to help future travelers: -The blue house is out of walking distance from the ferry port, plan to have a rental car or planned transportation. - There’s minimal things in the kitchen: no oven, no spices, a glitchy microwave, no dishwasher. Plan on cooking everything stove stop & doing dishes. - The closest market is pricey, watch expiration dates, closes early. Watch for people hanging around out front looking to take advantage of tourists, stay alert. - There’s a GORGEOUS beach walking distance down the hill from the house. Small, but so beautiful. We loved it! -The shower was lousy & water filter didn’t work on the sink. - The property manager Berto was THE best. He picked us up from the ferry when we missed our rental car window, took us to the market to get food, then brought us to get settled. The next day he called to see if we needed anything and let us know that the adjacent property had checked out and invited us to use the pool belonging to that property- kids loved it! -Know that this is a 2 family house so there might be folks staying above/below you, depending on where you stay. Our upstairs neighbors were super nice and offered to share the game room that goes with that level. - There’s an open porch w/2 hammocks and a large table/chairs w/ ocean view. We spent a lot of time out there. - The beaches on Vieques made this trip worth it- so amazing, we traveled around and went to a bunch. - Biobay tour w/Salty Spirit company was awesome! Didn’t get to snorkel due to rip currents. Overall this house will do for a few nights stay to explore the island, but I wouldn’t want to stay very long. Berto was great and we only met nice, helpful people on the island for the days we were there. We loved exploring the small island and throughly enjoyed our Marriott resort in San Juan afterwards.

Great time

We loved staying at the Ocean View Blue House. We stayed in July of 2022 with our family of 4 and another family of 5. It fit all of us comfortably. Bierto, the host was awesome! When our rental car didn’t start on the morning of our departure, and we were close to missing the ferry back to the mainland, he was super nice and picked us up! What a guy!! I loved the wild horses, and the hammocks the best. Very comfortable with a wonderful view of the beach. Thank you for hosting!!

Family Getaway

Enjoyed the beauty of Vieques every morning with spectacular views. Had wild horses come thru the property what a awesome experience. Berto was awesome and helped us out with the check-in. Will be coming back for other family gatherings.

Serene getaway with a beautiful view and wonderful hosts

I highly recommend this incredible rental for several reasons: a) The view is absolutely stunning. We spent hours relaxing in the private hammocks staring at the ocean and didn't want to leave. b) The house is on a quiet road, up a hill, with another rental above it and one next door. We were free of the touristy noise in town without feeling completely isolated. c) The property manager is amazing. He texted me ahead of time and made sure that we had what we needed to enjoy our stay on the island. His thoughtful care made our trip unforgettable. I hope to be back one day and will make sure to rent with him again. d) Everything worked, including the WiFi, laundry machines, and kitchen appliances. e) You can walk 2 minutes down the hill from this house and be at a beach. It's very shallow and calm because of a coral barrier wall and there were lots of little kids playing with toys and kayaks in the water. A tip if you choose this rental: definitely rent a car. I was happy to be away from Esperanza, but we would not have wanted to drive around the island in a UTV or to rely on taxis. There is a limited stock of rentals on the island so book early and/or ask the property manager for advice. Hope you have as incredible a time as we did!

The place was clean and the response from host was very quick. Gringo Nick helped us out in getting around town and gave us nice travel tips. Overall I’d definitely recommend staying here!

Great location

We wanted to stay at la Esperanza but everything was booked. Decided to rent here and do not regret it. It's a very nice property with a spectacular view. Someone planted a bush which blocks the view from the first floor. Recommend that the bush be removed. The nicest thing about the property is the view. Víctor, the property manager was very helpful. He picked us up at the ferry and took us to the property. We enjoyed beach hopping all over Vieques. Can't wait to go back. Will definitely rebook here. PS Please remove the bush!

Just beatiful

We actually stayed at another of their properties over looking the sea. It was quite and amazing! Wild horses grazing in the fields surrounding the house~! An unbelievable view and a quick walk down the hill to the beach. Could definitely spend a few more days there! And they hooked us up with a couple of cars. The guy was very accomodating and straight forward. Forgot his name....

Great stay, the hospitality from Ruben made our trip much better.

Gina and Ruben were great, they made our stay much easier and more enjoyable. The kitchen and pots and pans needed cleaning. The new hangout upstairs is coming out really good. I will recommend in a heartbeat

Han sido unos dias ESPECTACULARES!!!! Vieques es una maravilla de Isla, recomiendo hablar con los dueños de la casa, dado que ellos te facilitan todo el tema de los billetes de Ferry. La casa es genial, las playas son un paraíso, el trato con la gente del alojamiento fue excepcional, vamos de ensueño.....

Awesome Viques, Spectacular house with pool

My girlfriend and i spend our holidays in this amazing house. The owner of the house bought us the ferry tickets from San Juan to Vieques, that way we evit large lines ! And he recomended us to do de Biobay Tour whith guides will all licences. We will come back as soon as possible
