Hi, I’m originally from China and have been living in Rochester, Minnesota, for 16 years — it has truly become my second home. I’ve been hosting and renting properties here for the past 11 years, and I’ve had the pleasure of welcoming guests from all over the world.

I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and take pride in providing a clean, comfortable, and welcoming space for everyone.

I’m also a big animal lover and have two adorable dogs of my own. I understand how much pets mean to their owners — they’re more than companions, they’re family. That’s why I gladly welcome guests traveling with pets, and I hope my home can feel like a second home for both you and your furry friend.
In the past, I struggled a lot because my English isn’t very good. I often had trouble communicating with guests, and sometimes that led to misunderstandings. It was painful — not because I didn’t care, but because I couldn’t find the right words to express myself. My heart has always been warm and open, but I often felt frustrated and even discouraged when I couldn’t connect the way I wanted to.

There were times I felt like giving up on this hosting journey. But hosting is part of my life, and I knew I had to keep going.

Now, I’m grateful to have the help of ChatGPT. It helps me express my thoughts more clearly and respond more fully to guests’ needs. I truly feel that I can connect better than ever before, and that brings me so much joy.

I chose this neighborhood because it’s perfectly located for guests visiting the Mayo Clinic. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to either the main Mayo building (including the Gonda Building) or St. Mary’s Hospital, and just around 5 minutes if driving.

The house is also very close to a peaceful local park and a shopping area, so it’s easy to go for a walk, pick up groceries, or simply relax.

Another reason I love this home is the layout. The main floor has three bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room — all on one level. Most of my guests are Mayo patients recovering from surgery, and they really appreciate not having to use stairs. There are only one or two small steps to enter the main level, which makes it much easier and safer for them.

Even more importantly, the house has a fully fenced backyard with a secure gate. It’s perfect for guests who bring pets — they can safely enjoy the outdoors without worry. The backyard also offers a peaceful space for relaxing, drinking tea, reading a book, or enjoying a small BBQ during warmer seasons. Many guests have told me this outdoor space makes them feel truly at home.

Finally, I feel very lucky to have such kind and caring neighbors. Becky and Paul have helped me in many ways — mowing the lawn, taking out the trash bins, and keeping an eye on the house when needed. Becky even bakes delicious treats to share with everyone on the block. Their warmth and generosity are part of what makes this neighborhood so special to me.
