Esta amplia cabaña del segundo piso se encuentra en la parte trasera de un terreno de 2 acres justo al otro lado de la calle de la playa 'Rockpiles', que está a solo un par de la mundialmente famosa tubería Banzai. Esta casa de campo de 960 pies cuadrados es una escapada de parejas perfectas. La casa tiene 1 dormitorio con una cama queen size. Tiene un baño grande y una gran sala que incluye un área de comedor, cocina y sala de estar. Las puertas dobles francesas se abren a un gran porche cubierto con una zona de estar, mesa y bancos. La escalera se vacía en un patio privado que está vallado con una valla de privacidad de madera de 6 pies. El patio de la cabaña está equipado con una barbacoa de gas y una mesa de picnic para comer al aire libre. Un área de lavandería pequeña alberga una lavadora / secadora, junto con 2 sillas de playa, snorkel, juguetes de playa, y 2 bicicletas.
Hay una gran carril bici en la calle que tiene más de 2 1/2 millas de largo y te lleva por todas las maravillosas playas de la costa norte tiene para ofrecer. Es un agradable paseo de 1 milla a un gran supermercado y varios restaurantes del carro del almuerzo. Excellent but quirky

It was a great place to stay, we were there for a month. Outstanding lanai that was a joy to relax on, large bathroom, great location, friendly and responsive yet respectful host, good BBQ and decent bikes. The quirky parts are the solar hot water that takes a couple of minutes to arrive, the rooster(s) that greet the dawn, and the different style of kitchen. Recommend - Yes.

Great location, right across from the beach! Place was super clean and Mele had if fully equipped with everything you could possibly need to include beach cruisers so you can take advantage of the sweet bike path that runs along the shore. Thank you for everything!

Perfect location for visiting the North Shore.

Listening to the birds in the jungle just behind me as I write this. The rental was very clean, well stocked, and has more than enough space for 3 people. Private upstairs unit with a small view of the ocean and an expansive view of the "jungle". Goats, chickens, and a friendly cat. The owners made sure we knew they were available for questions/concerns, but left us alone to enjoy our vacation.

Amazing!!

We had an excellent stay. It was a great find. Right in the heart of North Shore, we got to experience everything within close walking or driving distance. The property was better than expected. Beautiful landscape and privacy, yet close enough to owner to reach if needed. Birds and trees made it feel like a treehouse in an aviary. Property was nicely decorated and furnished, but not cluttered. Full kitchen was a great bonus. Could easy make it a long-term stay. Will definitely be back! Mahalo.

We wouldn't stay anywhere else!

We absolutely love this place. This is our second stay and it won't be our last. All of the superlatives from my initial review two years ago still apply, and I can honestly say that if you can't be happy here, you can't be happy anywhere. The location is perfect, especially if you like to watch the surfing (or if you surf yourself) and you can even see the waves from the cottage, which is a fabulous way to wake up. This is not a "resort" experience (with no onsite facials or pedicures!) but it's a fabulous rural setting with goats, ducks and chickens - all friendly - and hosts that are probably the nicest people on the planet. The kitchen is well stocked, the bed is VERY comfortable and the entire cottage is spotless. We can't wait to return! Mahalo Mele & Jeff!

Dream living on the North Shore

Wonderful stay. We wish the waves were a little better during our 3 days, but that is beyond the owners' control! Huge property that our Keiki loved, including the goats, chickens, huge snails, geckos, and touch-me-not flowers. Rockpiles beach right across the street was amazing, and pipeline/backdoor are just a 5 minute walk. Short drive to Haleiwa, Waimea, and Ted's Bakery also. I rarely give 5 stars, but this place was deserving. We had a magical stay, it was clean and felt very private and homey. The kitchen is stocked with all the essentials and then some, was nice to not have to buy things like cooking oil, salt and pepper, and coffee filters. The only thing I could possibly give a critical comment about is that if you are paranoid about security, there is no safe and the front doors are basically little more than a bathroom lock. And since there are no blinds, everything is in plain sight, including the absence of people. Because the location is so far from the road and separated by a fence, a car driving up would be very conspicuous so I wasn't too worried, but a programmable safe might be something for the owners to consider for the future for guests that have to store passports. We were sad too leave and hope to return sometime to see pipeline going off! Thanks Jeff and Mele!

50th birthday at this lovely cottage

This was my second trip to the north shore this year and sort of a last minute deal that was very easy to make happen with the help from the owners on information and a low deposit amount until trip time( big plus for us). The place is on a sweet property that has a ocean view(hard to find at this price) with a real country feel and a short walk to beach that really suited out style. Our first trip of the year was in a really nice place but was in a regular crowded neighborhood a few blocks from beach and our reason for trying something new glad we did place was awesome. The place is super clean has a nice patio to watch the sunsets and a comfy bed a sheets( big plus). Plenty of beach towels and things to make a beach day easy and a washer and dryer that was a nice feature. The place has a new BBQ which we used about every night and was nice to have to save on eating out costs. There is 3 goats by your parking spot which is kinda cool and we enjoyed hanging out them for 5-10 minutes everyday. My phone was acting up when we got there so the internet didn't really come into play and there is some construction going on behind property but I never really did seem them work much on our 7 days there and when they were working never seem to make much noise. Its on a second story so a nice breeze blows through which is really nice on the warm evenings. The owners were great didn't bother you and had left a nice birthday card when we arrived which i thought was a really nice and thoughtful touch. All in all a great place that we plan on returning too next December thanks again!

Perfect North Shore Experience

This property is even better in person. Very spacious, clean and has everything you need. On one side you have jungle and the other you can see the ocean with chickens, goats and ducks on the property, it's so peaceful! With the bikes you can get to all the best beaches, food trucks and foodland (grocery store). Highly recommend staying at this treehouse cottage if you have the chance - thank you Mele and family!

We enjoy this place so much, we've stayed twice!

For us as a couple, this property is absolutely perfect. If we manage to get back to Oahu again (this was our 4th trip), I'm 100% sure I'll want to book this place again. We actually planned this trip around the availability of this place. The inside space is very comfortable with a large open air kitchen, dining, and living area. The kitchen accommodations are simple but entirely adequate, with a full-size refrigerator, and counter-top toaster oven, microwave, and induction burners. All necessary dinnerware, cookware, and kitchen utensils were supplied. One large full bathroom provided a shower, sink, and toilet. The separate bedroom with queen-size bed offered a separate air-conditioned space for sleeping (the rest of the accommodation is not air-conditioned, but that is typical of Hawaii homes, and there were plenty of windows to open for air flow...we only turned the A/C on once briefly, for a quick cool-down before going to bed one night). There's a covered porch right outside the front door, with plenty of comfortable seating and a nice breeze. We had many relaxed mornings and dinners outside. The property is large enough that the building is located away from the street, minimizing any road noise. Often the sound of the ocean across the street was louder than any traffic noise at night. Geographically, the location is perfect for those wanting to stay on the North Shore. While it's not a beach front property, the beach is located directly across the road in front of the property, with nothing other than the road between the property and the beach. (You get nearly beach-front property, without a beach-front rate.) We walked over to the beach and spent hours there, many days, with a quick walk back whenever we wanted...no car ride needed. It's a short drive south to Hale'iwa for local shopping and dining, although you need to be patient with the typical North Shore traffic at certain times of day. There's a grocery store and numerous food trucks just minutes away. And huge stretches of non-crowded beach are just across the street, including several North Shore surfing hot-spots. Sharks Cove and Waimea Bay are nearby as well.

A rural north shore paradise

This property was everything that we were looking for and more. Spotlessly clean and well equipped, the location couldn't be better as you were right across the street from the beach and walking/bicycle trail (and that trail can take you to Ted's bakery in one direction and the Foodland grocery store in the other!). All of the animals on premises were friendly (and thank you to Jacob the goat for eating all of our mango & papaya peelings and thank you to the chickens for taking quick care of our papaya seeds!) including their sweet dog Sophie and beautiful kitty Muffin. We stayed for 30 days and cooked in every night, and the kitchen was well equipped for this. As a 67 year old New Hampshire woman used to cooking with cast iron pans on a wood burning stove, it was with a bit of skepticism that I eyed the two burner "hot plate" at my disposal. Well let me tell you, this isn't your grandmother's hot plate. This thing heats up immediately to a high enough temperature to sear (and you don't need the highest setting) and cools down quickly so you have a lot of control. And in case you were wondering what was behind the shower curtain in the bathroom photo (I was wondering!) it's a beautifully tiled tub/shower combo that has plenty of hot water and great water pressure. It (along with everything else in the cottage) was sparkling clean. And oh yes, the bed was VERY comfortable, with nice linens and pillows! Our host family was really wonderful, and we truly can't wait to return. They certainly haven't seen the last of us! This place feels like home.

Quiet, Convenient and Homie!

We stayed here for 4 months, doing online school from here for a semester. Most generous host family. This wonderful place we called home for a semester, is right across the street from Rock Piles, Off the Wall and Pipeline, conveniently at a bus stop and walking distance to both Sunset beach and Sharks Cove. Spacious bedroom, bathroom and living area/kitchen with a beautiful porch under the most beautiful trees. We could not ask for more and we gained a Aloha family!

Amazing house in paradise

We loved this place! The house is nice, clean and spacious, and the location is AMAZING. We are a group of remote workers and the house met all of our needs (working space and good internet). Mele was so welcoming, patient and responsive! They quickly fixed issues we had with the shower, and Mele even tried to help me search for a kayak rental place in the area. The house also lot of beach utilities-chairs, snorkel, umbrella. We would love to come back and stay here again!

This was the perfect location/retreat for my wife and me. So close to our favorite beaches. Not too close to the road. Bikes worked great. We spent 10 of the 14 days of our vacation here but wish we had spent the whole time! We loved it! Thanks Mele!

Return to Paradise

We brought our two children ages 8 and 10 on a Hawaiian vacation to show them where we met. Much of Oahu has changed, but Mele and her family have preserved the Hawaii we knew, for which we are so thankful! The house was roomy and comfortable with everything we needed. The location was convenient to great swimming, snorkeling, shopping, and hiking. A bit further drive brought us to the Polynesian Cultural Center. Hopefully some day we will return to the North Shore and get to stay at the cottage again.

Amaze balls

We loved this place. Great location, clean, breezy, they have thought of everything to make our stay great. Friendly chooks and goats. Can hear traffic on road but if you want to be near the beach you gotta put up with that. Music and earplugs work a treat. Only suggestion is maybe bigger beach towels but now im being fussy. Beautiful & peaceful cottage

We loved our stay here! The cottage felt private and very clean. It is surrounded by beautiful trees and set back away from the road. We also have a toddler so she loved the large yard to run around in. Thank you & we would stay here again.
