water front home is located on 100 foot wide canal with your owe 30 feet of free dockage. We are pet friendly. Furnished with 2-queen size beds and a sofa sleeper in the living room to accommodate up to 4 total. We have free WiFi. You have Free access to the Private Cabana Ocean Beach Club just a 5- minute walk from home.(thecabanaclubkeycolonybeach),full bar,grill, hot-tub and music. Our home has a large dock system which is easy in/out of your boat. We have bait freezer next to fish cleaning table on dock. Freshwater hose dockside. Quick access by boat to the ocean (5-minutes)and gulf (15-minutes). Free parking for vehicle and trailer at home. Our home has a fully equipped kitchen and ceramic tiling throughout. Ocean fishing/snorkeling & diving only minutes away. 1-hour drive south of Key Largo and 1-hour north of Key West. 4-restaurants within walking distance from our home. KCB has a 9-hole par-3 golf coarse. Walking, jogging and bike riding paths. Free Pickle ball courts, tennis courts, groomed Bocci ball lanes (4) and shuffleboard(2)equipment at site. free children's play-set. Horse shoe pit on- shoes at site.

The dock needs to be checked out it has a broken piece of wood and the water hose needs to be replaced and the grill doesn’t have any propane. Other than this everything is okay.

Overall good experience. Seemed like a typical Key Colony rental. Plenty of space and location is great. Owner was excellent with communication!

Great location and a good central place to explore the Keys

We really enjoyed our trip and would stay again. This duplex is on a quiet street a short walk from a membership club right on the beach with a bar, pool and hot tub. It is the best of both worlds, getting a quiet roomy place to stay then head over to the Cabana Club for some beach time.

Good property on the canal

We stayed in the unit for 2 weeks.The property was clean and the location is perfect. We missed a few things from the kitchen equipment, but it was not a big deal. There was only one thing we didn’t like: we had to share the dock with another unit. This info should be in the description. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The dock on the canal was our favorite spot. Watched many sunsets and caught a few small fish! Overall we would stay here again.

Awesome Stay!!

Overall our stay was very good. Easy access into the house and a quick boat trip out to the Atlantic. The kitchen was equipped well enough. The beds were very comfortable! If I had any suggestions it would be to upgrafe the living room furniture and repair the porch screens. Definitely would stay here again. We had 1 very minor issue and the owner was on it within minutes, with issue resolved!!

There was a little issue when we got there because the cleaning crew had to leave and didn't make it back until just after our check-in time. Texted the host and it was taken care of immediately. On the last night, the AC went out. I was able to reset it a couple of times myself and keep it working. The host responded to my texts and tried to get someone out, but wasn't able to. Probably not his fault. All in all, this was a good place to stay. Looked just like the pictures and fit the disciption. Nice place on a canal with quick access to the ocean side and right to the reef. Being able to go the cabana club right down the street was great and more than made up for the fact that it didn't have its own pool. I really liked it and would stay here again.

Our Stay

Location was nice. Easy to get to and from places. Now the place could use to repair. As there are several places where title floor was missing ( master bedroom where dresser next to outside wall), to left of washer and dryer that closet that hid I believe the AC unit, behind the fridge missing title ( the fridge is at the end of the wall next to hallway so you can clearly see the gap of missing tile). Not sure what Florida law is when it comes to smoke alarms. But there was one that didn’t work but it was near one that did work. So not uncommon to see multiple smoke alarms in a room but one not work when you pushed the test button ( I’m a firefighter so it’s common for me check these since there was at least 1 working in room the non working one I was ok with since was working one. But to have multiple in a room and one not work is strange to me) I know with VRBO’s ect you can tell if it’s a home someone lives in vs renting out as rental property. This clearly a rental property for beach vacation. That’s perfectly fine. But why a hodgepodge of everything. The dishes, silverware, towels, bedsheets ect are random. Yes each bed set matched, but 2 different bed sets were random from each other, the silverware didn’t even have a complete set, plates random sizes ect. It’s like they went thrift store and got whatever they had there. For a place that is used to rent for beach guest is needs an update.

Always a great stay!

This is our sixth stay at Key Colony and we always enjoy our stay! Access to the Cabana Club is great, be sure to get there early! We recommend the Key Colony in for a casual dinner, their Italian food is delicious and prices are the best around. We were only a party of two but this unit could easily accommodate 4+ if you include the pullout sofa. Fish cleaning station, freezer, beach chairs (we left an umbrella!), seats on the canal, manatee visits... Great rental away from the hustle and bustle of Marathon!

Great 2 BR duplex

We enjoyed our stay in this duplex which was very clean and comfy. We especially enjoyed sitting on the screened in porch drinking our coffee and watching the sun rise. The unit is accurately described and we had no problems. Thanks!

Quaint home in great location

My family (2 adults, 3 children) stayed in the 2 bedroom/1 bathroom unit. This appears to be a home partitioned into two residences as our door was a sliding glass door that faced the rear with a canal view. Our three year old could easily get outside at his whim. It was easy for my husband to put his boat into the ramp right by the Sadowski Causeway and navigate to the home. There was ample parking for our truck and trailer and I was able to park my car out front. The inside was clean enough (dusty in places, dusty under beds, etc.) but not a big deal at all for us. While the owner did let us know to reach out to him ASAP if the cleanliness was not to our liking, I didn't think it was a big enough issue to reach out. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, utensils and a variety of cooking utensils. We did a combination of eating out and cooking in so having those necessary items close was very handy. The beds were comfortable enough as we were very tired each day after being on the go and had no trouble falling asleep. Only 1 room had a ceiling fan though. The AC worked overtime as it was HOT outside with heat advisories during our stay, but the unit stayed nice and cool. The bathroom was updated and clean. We tried to use the Cabana Club but they closed at 5:00 PM a few days and then 7:00 PM others so that was not an amenity that was readily usable when planning days out. Having a washer and dryer were awesome and we kept up with our daily laundry while on vacation.

Best vacation ever

We drove down from Virginia and towed our boat. We stayed at this property for 2 weeks. Everything was as stated in the listing. The house was clean and neat and the kitchen was well stocked for our needs. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing on the dock in the evenings and the convenience of having our boat right there. We were in the ocean in 5 minutes. Curt was very responsive to all communication from us and we would definitely stay in this property again. I can’t say enough about how beautiful the KCB area is. We rode bikes to several great local restaurants. Hubby and I both said it was our best vacay ever!! Can’t wait to go back.

Beautiful property just as described! The location was very convenient to the club and restaurant. The owner was very responsive to our requests and quickly resolved a minor problem I would highly recommend and hope to return next year!

Loved the view and proximity to the cabana club.. Great large screened in porch...Beds slept well but small. Very dog friendly....Left beach towels we brought for others to use. Great place with great bar. I would definitely stay here again......

Fun Family time get-away!

The house was very clean and ready for the 4 of us to "move" in... and we did. We enjoyed the beachy decor. Our favorite part was being able to simply catch fish from the dock including a 45lb. nurse shark!! It is a quaint community and so many families were gathered on their docks in the evenings to enjoy the water views. We felt very safe leaving our boat tied up to the dock during the evenings and meet many families traveling in the evenings while walking the dogs. Would recommend this location for small families and we look forward to booking again the next time we are in the Keys.

Great location!

This is a very nice duplex! Lots of wildlife off the dock. We saw snappers, manatees, and even tarpon! We love the location close to a lot of great restaurants and charters! We loved going to the Cabana Club for a little extra R&R between excursions!

Simply Great - Plus Manatees!!

We had the best time! I, my wife, daughter, daughter-in-law and our 2 ½ year old grandson had a terrific time here. The property has an excellent location. Two turns and you are in the Atlantic in 5 minutes. The two bedroom unit has a screened-in porch. The dock area is roomy and has everything you needed for boating (we towed our boat down). The dock freezer is really a nice touch. The Cabana Club is a terrific feature with pool, beach and snack stand/bar just a shot walk away. A nice neighborhood park is just a couple of blocks away. You can walk to several good restaurants and there is a great bait and tackle shop as well. The house is great. The yard is crushed rock but has flowering cactus, banana trees, big iguanas, little iguanas, curly tailed lizards and geckos to keep you entertained. The canal has a variety of fish and lots of manatees. We had six adults and a baby surround the boat when we were flushing the engine. Who know manatee loved fresh water? This place was terrific, and the owner is very easy to deal with. This place is a keeper. Just a note. If you are from a larger tide swing area (like Charleston) you are used to floating docks. The keys don’t have those big swings and the docks are fixed, so tie off accordingly.

Great time in the keys

We had a great time in KCB. Absolutely loved going to the Cabana Club. Our son really enjoyed the pool there. The house was just as described. If you rent the 2 bed room it is the unit at the rear, meaning you don't have a "front" door. Enjoyed the dock and the screened in back porch. Highly recommend this listing!

Nothing like being on the water!

The house is just as described but the dock is where it’s at. So peaceful and when it’s too windy for the dock the screened porch is amazing. Truly loved our stay and hated to leave.
