Guest William Horn To whom it may concern: The last guests at Pines & Palms need to have a claim for damages attached to the account. (2 cloth hampers to be replaced due to damage) 1. One beige hamper was stained by something that leaked at the side and bottom. 2. The second Teal hamper was broken. Estimated value $75.00 for the blue one and $50.00 for the Beige one. Approx. $125.00 to replace. (2 stained bath towels) Off white beach towels were stained with black stains could not clean out. Approx. $ 50.00 each x 2 = $100.00 to replace. Cleaning: Because the house was left very dirty, the cleaners spend an additional 2 hours at the house cleaning. There were 3 garbage bags removed from the house. Additional Cleaning time 2 hours $100 a hour. = $200 Total of charges to the damage claim $425.00 There was an additional electrical charges for overage with the heating pool/spa of =$90.73 Do we put the $425 to damage claim and the 90.73 to the deposit? Reply to review. Good Morning William, Thank you for your review. When you booked with us you made no mention of beaches. You did mention fishing and boat rental. Ft. Myers beach is across the bridge and takes 20 mins. to get to. Ft Myers 28 mins to the Ft Myers Airport. With traffic these days it can take 30 mins as you have learned, the traffic lights are long here if you hit a red one. We are known for our canals in this area, the house is right on a canal with Gulf access. In our area we are visited by people that like the beaches and like to boat, often they bring their own or rent one. many of our guests like to golf and use the many golf courses in our area. The nearest beach is the one in cape coral about 15 - 20 mins away. I am not sure where you went to go to the beach? Sanibel Island? this is further away but incredibly beautiful. Bonita Beach is also lovely but is 1 hour away as is Naples Beach. It was unfortunate that the towels, your group washed were stained, and had to be replaced. We only charged you for the 2 that were stained with black stains, the others we did not charge for were washed with dark items and do not look the same as when you got there. We had 2 days of deep cleaning by our cleaners of a house that should take 5 hours. to clean by our meticulous cleaners. The house was used hard during your stay. Before you used the house, I explained in the cooler weather that if the pool is used over 80 degrees there may be an overage charges. We cannot control the weather. We sent you the daily itemized charges from the electric company for the week you were there. Many homes in our area charge min. of $25 a day more than we do, but we think that the choice of the pool and spa are there if it is used. depending on the temp that the pool is heated to, and the weather temp. there may be charges. Generally, our score by guests staying a week or 3 months is 5. We believe in supplying our guests with a clean well-equipped home where they can have a safe, comfortable stay. We are geared more to family vacations and couple vacations. You had told me you were 4 couples. We are not set up for groups like yours. We do not pretend to be a beach house, the next vacation with your group may be happier on Fort Myers Beach where it is more geared to large groups there for the beach and all the beach vacationers would prefer. We appreciate your comments and your input. We did not hear any complaints while you were here, I hope you generally did have a good time on your stay. Take care of yourselves.
