We had such a wonderful stay at this property over the weekend. The house itself is beautiful, with a rustic, elevated wood-cabin feel that perfectly balances comfort and charm. You can really tell how thoughtful the owners are, from the little details inside to the way the space is set up for relaxation.One of the highlights was the pool—it’s surrounded by lights, which made evening swims feel magical. The property also has several trails right from the house, including some that lead down to creeks, which made for peaceful morning walks and a true sense of being immersed in nature.On top of that, it’s conveniently located close to local attractions like Six Flags, making it easy to mix relaxation with adventure.Overall, it’s the perfect spot if you’re looking to unwind, enjoy the outdoors, and stay in a place that feels both cozy and special. We were happy with the pool and the proximity to Lake George activities. Parking was not an issue and check-in was simple. There were plenty of towels provided. The laundry and billboards were a major plus. The fridge was clean. Hot water was on point. AC units worked fine but were on the older side. We also appreciated that our pups could be with us! Unfortunately, past reviews of musty basement was still present. We had to empty the dehumidifier twice daily (and we even cleaned the filter). In addition, there were damp rid bags in basement. We also found that there was not enough lighting in the house (living room, bedrooms, and bathrooms). With some updates, we think this stay would be more comfortable but overall we were okay with rustic retreat experience.

Black Mold, not worth the money, property not maintained and the owner was combative when contacted about issues! The smell of the mold in the house was unmaskable; the lower level bedrooms had mold and the wall to wall carpeting was water stained and smelled. Deck missing a section of railing broken glass on the walkway. So many issues. At one time it was a cute house (like the pics on the site) but it has been severely neglected - we just want to warn others. Total bummer to spend 3500 for a family stay with little ones - if we had another option we would have left. We’ve traveled a lot and are not fancy people - this is a hard no

Great Summer Getaway

This was the perfect place for a couples retreat! The pool was very nice and relaxing. It was a really nice touch that towels were provided as well as essentials in the bathroom, (they had toiletries!). My only suggestion for the lovely home is to provide garbage bags but everything else was wonderful.

Good place to stay for Lake George with a dog

Glenda was responsive to issues that arose in a timely manner. Location was great for a family with a dog. AC's were working well and the pool was great. Pictures for the property are old.

Great stay

Nice quiet location. Clean and as pictured. Pool and pool table were fun extras. We’ll-equipped but would benefit from a quick reorganization. Owner was very responsive. Would have appreciated a binder with house rules and local attractions and restaurants,

Perfect for a Great Fall Getaway!

Loved this place! My friends and I came up here to celebrate my birthday at Lake George. This place accommodated everyone so comfortably. It was spacious and clean when we arrived. We did encounter an issue with the toilet the second day and reached out to the owner who responded so quickly. Someone came over that day and fixed the toilet. The place was also a short drive to town which was another plus. Definitely would stay here again on my next trip to Lake George.

Worst vacation stay ever

Arrived and left in ten minutes. Absolute crap hole. They have a run down mildew flooded antiquated home that they con people into staying at. Charge thousands of dollars for a house in a poverty area abandoned cars in the lot next door. Save your time and money

Quiet beautiful getaway!

I cant express how much we enjoyed our stay at this home! The pool was amazing, the house is so incredibly spacious and really has that cozy fun adirondack feel to it. Swimming under the stars was incredible! Its a quick drive to Lake George Village which was amazing!! The washer and dryer were a bonus, coming home with clean clothes was fantastic! There are tons of towels and toiletries provided. If you want a tan, you will definitely get one as the pool is right under the sun with no interference from trees or anything. Cell service was spotty but it really didn’t matter because relaxation was the number one priority here!! I would recommend to anyone looking for a private and comfy getaway! Thank you again, Glenda!! We look forward to our next stay!

This house should not be listed for rent. It needs a complete overhaul, is very poorly maintained and grungy. I arrived to garbage overflowing from the outside garbage cans onto the ground. The first night I could not breathe in the house due to dampness, mildrew and dog hair throughout the bedroom. When I went to open the windows, there were no screens. I could not leave the windows open due to bugs. The kitchen windows cannot be opened because there are no cranks on the window that work (or screens). This owner has 23 other properties. I asked to be relocated to one of those, but she said she had no other property available. I tried to find another home but due to holiday weekend I could not find one. There are mouse droppings in the bedroom. There is mold in the bathroom tub and ceiling, a moldy smell throughout the house, wifi went out on day 5 of trip and did not come on again, faulty electric (we could not reset the wifi because the electric panel is a danger) and a ceiling fan over the pool table that is being barely held up by a telephone wire - it is wobbly as it turns and could fall down at any minute. They want guests to throw out the water in the dehumidifier which was filled every day with the moisture in the house. The kitchen cabinets were dirty - I could not eat in the house. The rugs are torn, holes in the downstairs bedroom door, the mats in the bathroom are threadbare. VRBO should remove this listing as it is a hazard. I want a full refund. DO NOT STAY HERE

Property needs refurbishing. And actually wasn't big enough for our group with 6 small children

We had a great time, many +s about house - pool, fire pit, parking, garbage & recycle removal was fantastic, hospitality basket was very sweet, house was very clean, Echo Lake was great, BUT hot water ran out constantly, no plug for tub in lower bath with small children made bath time challenging, kitchen too small to eat together, cooking utensils not really usable - in bad shape, no space to put our food in cabinets, not much room to move around in living room, Would need large home for future trip which of course is my fault.

Great Hideaway

We loved this house! This house is very clean and very large. I had seven girls here for July 4th weekend, the pool is beautiful and crystal clear. We all had our own space and were never on top of each other. Glenda left tons of linens and towels also a nice basket with any little toiletries you may have forgotten. I would recommend this house for anyone who is looking for a nice relaxing weekend outside of Lake George and away from the busy crowds. If you want to go shopping or spend the day at Six Flags it is just a short drive away. FYI only two of the four bedrooms have ac units, the other two bedrooms have small fans. They could use some more fans for the living rooms and kitchen where most people spend a lot of time other then that place was excellent!

Mildew no internet or emergency services or cell service

Down stairs had moldy smell and moisture level was high to point linens and carpet was wet, we believe that was cause of difficulty breathing, when we arrived there was dog poop on floor that my 7 yr old grandson stepped in and internet service was so slow we couldn't use WiFi calling and was a dead spot for cell phones, we had no access to emergency services and we left at bout 3am cause my sister couldn't breathe and was traumatized cause we couldn't even access emergency services and cell phones weren't able to call 911 she is in hospital now,

Surprisingly disappointing

According to the ad, everything looked nice, (pictures were from 2012) Upon arrival the door was locked, my husband txt the manager, and she answered the next day, so we manage to get in the house! The toilet upstairs didn't flush, my husband text her and she said, she would send someone to fix it, but nobody came, the dryer was full of wet smelly towels, only two burner's working on the stove, and we need some extra blankets, it was stored in an unfinished close, all dust, smelling mold and finally we would say overall cleaning is poor, lots of dust, cobwebs, and the mirrors were pretty dirty, the only bright side in the house was the pool! We would say the house is nice, well located, but poorly managed!

Disappointed

My family and I rented Patricia's place for a Lake George getaway. Let me start with what went well. The location is very close to Lake George and the Revolution Rail Trail. The home was clean on the inside when we arrived and there were plenty of towels and bedding, and there was a very nice basket of toiletries in the bathroom. The pool was a plus. When we arrived at 4PM to check in, there was a man painting the sidewalks. This seemed like an odd thing to do when guests were arriving as we had to watch to not step in wet paint. The grill that was there was being replaced and the one brought back was used and was very small. The pool area was lacking, the two lounge chairs had straps broken, and they looked as if they had been painted? The fake palm tree in the pictures was still at the pool but was very sad looking. It needs to be thrown out. The front small burner on the stove does not work at all and the front large burner was working on and off. The downstairs was musty and there is a dehumidifier, but it needs to be turned up to keep the humidity level down. The pool table is missing a leg and is help up by bricks and is very uneven. The washer is brand new however the water needs to be turned on before use and off after otherwise it keeps trickling into the washer after it is done. This home is not bad but could use some TLC. Glenda did respond quickly to our concerns and did tell me they plan on renovating this property. Hopefully they do and update pics.

Great Week!

Our family had a great week here!! Plenty of space for the 10 of us! The pool was a HUGE bonus for the kids! We Loved it!! The people before us didn’t leave the house in great shape but the housekeeper was working so hard to clean everything up when we arrived, she was lovely! One wish: I wish there was a vacuum cleaner! We had littles and let’s face it they leave crumbs wherever they go! It would have been so much easier to clean up! But even without that we had a wonderful week here!

Great place

Let me preface with, "we had no complaints". But I will have suggestions. We had a great time. My family of 15 included 1 toddler, 3 teens, 2 school age kids and 10 adults If you are a laid back, low maintenance family like ours, this house is optimal for your family's needs. The location was close driving distance to the lake, shopping and an outing on the railways. The inground pool provided a needed rest from outings. We grilled out several mornings and nights with the provided propane grill. This host provided enough towels and pool towels to last us all week. We used their washer and dryer several times. The pool and porch offered plenty of seating. Now, in my "perfect world", I would have liked mattress toppers on the beds, if you have back probems, just be aware. It may have been a longer length of time since the house was opened up from the previous renter, the downstairs had a dehumidifier that wasn't running when we arrived, there was a damp smell to the downstairs. The downstairs TV needed maneuvering in order to watch the vhs tapes that were provided, my guest wanted to suggest perhaps a dvd player or another tv that can stream shows like the one upstairs And lastly, I hate to say, but add me to the list of wifi users when on vacation. Definitely needed a stronger wifi signal for my large bunch. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you again. Priolo family

My name is Glenda and I grew up in the Town of Thurman where this house is located. I graduated from the local Warrensburg Central School and other than college time, have lived here all my life. Have visited other places, but I love life and the mountains here.

I live just a few miles from this house and we decided to buy it because we considered it a great investment. The property was close to town and the house needed some TLC. We gave it that and more. We thoroughly enjoyed working and upgrading the house to it's present condition.

This property has a quiet brook running through the back of the property. Trout fishing, too! we have just installed a wonderful inground swimming pool.
