Perfect family vacay home!

Beach access within feet of the home. It was modern, clean and spacious! The kitchen had everything we needed. Perfect house, especially for a larger family or multiple families!

Wonderful stay

We loved being near the beach it also on the marsh. Sunrise and sunsets were spectacular. The home had more than ample space for 7 friends to spread out and also to enjoy being together.

Beautiful & comfortable

Wonderful stay! The rooms were all clean, the ocean can be seen from multiple balconies. Just a VERY short walk to the ocean. We definitely recommend staying here & we hope to return again! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Loved Holden Beach!

House was great……we take a family trip every year. This house was our favorite! Had a couple issues early on but Patti was amazing and got everything taken care of quickly! We will definitely stay here again!

Great trip

Family vacation with all the our crew. Could not have picked a better place to stay. The rooms all clean and up to date. Best location to get to the beach. The pool was great for the grandchildren( and grandparents!). We will go back to Holden Beach, and when we do this is where we will book!!!

Great Holden beach home

You literally walk across the street to the beach and there is nothing but marsh behind the house, so there is privacy and beautiful sunsets. My only complaint is 681.00 to heat the pool. The water is still pretty chilly in th pool in May.

Highly Recommend!

The perfect beach vacation rental! We enjoyed our stay at 'Why Knot' to the fullest. The location just steps from the beach, while also enjoying the calm marsh behind the house was wonderful. The well maintained house was clean and modern with a fully stocked kitchen for everything you need to make your meals. The layout worked well for our group, with a separate space for kids to hang out. We enjoyed the beautiful pool setup along with the generous beach/pool toys and supplies for a fun day together. Highly recommend!

Beachgiving 2023

We stayed at Why Knot for the week of Thanksgiving. We brought Thanksgiving to the beach. Best Thanksgiving vacation ever. Why Knot exceeded our expectations and the management company Vacasa was super responsive. The home was clean and spacious and had everything included that we could’ve ever needed. Even in the middle of November, our family used the heated pool. Definitely would recommend Why Knot for your next family vacation.

Wonderful Location

This was our 4th visit to Holden Beach and the location of this home can't be beat! Unfortunately when we arrived the house had not been touched and was still filthy from previous guests. We had to wait another 2.5 hours before we could enter the property which was discouraging after a 10+ hour drive and a guaranteed 4pm check in. When they finally arrived the cleaning crew left their small child for us to entertain, which was extremely bizarre and unprofessional. Once we got that squared away we had a great week. Other than a few hiccups with the elevator which were addressed, everything went great. The house is fully stocked, the pool is great, and the views are amazing.

Best Beach House Experience!

Why Knot is by far one of the best beach houses I have ever stayed in! It is perfectly placed to have gorgeous views of both the beach and sound side. Waking up every morning to the sound of the ocean while watching deer prance across the sound was like being in our own little oasis. It is completely up to date and comes equipped while quite literally anything you would need (grill, all kitchen appliances imaginable, beach toys/chairs, etc.). We couldn't have asked for a better time and will definitely be booking Why Knot for all of our future Holden Beach visits!

Best Home Yet

Why Knot was probably the best home we’ve stayed in at Holden Beach. Absolutely fully furnished with more than enough to support our group of 10. Our only “wish” was the outdoor seating. There was just not enough and some of those were broken. Didn’t ruin our week but would have been nice to have had them. Overall great home and great stay.

Thanksgiving with a view!

We’ve been coming to Holden Beach for Thanksgiving since 1999 when everyone thought we were crazy to be going the beach. We just love this time of year there! Seems like it has caught on for others too! Lots of people on the island. This house was lovely and accommodated our family so well! The kitchen was very well appointed and made meal prep easy and enjoyable. The marsh view was just beautiful! We loved the quick access to the beach. The beds were comfy and there was tons of space for out 10 adults. We loved it here! Really great house!

Dream House!

We always rent houses on the beach and were not sure about 2nd row. Everyone, I mean everyone, fell in love with this house! Beach access was steps away. The decorating in this home was simply beautiful. The kitchen was divine and we enjoyed hours around that dining table…. The lighting and fixtures were gorgeous! Much time spent on the decks overlooking the marsh and enjoying the deer and birds. The pool was fantastic! We would head to the beach early, come back for lunch and a swim, head back to the beach and return to that glorious pool!! What a life!! Storage area was full of chairs, beach and pool toys, floats. The owners thought of everything!! Thank you so much…

Great stay

We loved our stay at Why Knot. I only wish it had been longer. Plenty of space if you have a couple of families visiting. My kids liked that there were games and puzzles. The beds and couch were comfortable. We did have an issue during our stay but maintenance arrived quickly. It also says there's a hair dryer but I didn't see one but I had brought my own just in case. The kitchen was great. I liked there was an under cabinet ice maker too. I didn't pay attention if there was cable or not so I didnt realize that there wasn't until we got there. We just streamed netflix though. It wasn't a big deal for a short trip. I would definitely recommend this house and stay again.

This property is infested with cockroaches. You'll step on them walking through the house at night and you'll find plenty on the floor every morning. They are on both levels, in the kitchen cabinets, closets, drawers, etc.I notified the rental company and the property manager and they said there wasn't anything they could do, just apologized for the inconvenience. No..... the wifi issues were an inconvenience. The lights being out in the stairwell causing people to fall walking up pitch black stairs was an inconvenience. A cockroach infestation is a health concern.Re-washed all of our clothes when we got home as well as sanitized everything before it went back into our house.I've reached out to file a complaint and request a partial refund and get no response.Hopefully the pictures of the bug infestation will make you think twice about this property. I would recommend cancelling any existing reservations. According to the manager, every house at Holden Beach is this way. Probably so if they are all this poorly managed and cleaned.

Cool Comforts at 'Why Knot': Making Waves Without the Warmth

We recently stayed at the beach house "Why Knot" and it was a fantastic experience for our group of 8 adults and 5 young kids (ages 2-4). The property was spacious, impeccably clean, and overall enjoyable for our large group. One of the highlights of the stay was the proximity to the beach, which made it convenient for us to spend quality time by the ocean with the kids. The house itself felt safe and well-maintained, offering ample space both indoors and outdoors for everyone to relax and play. The pool would be a definite plus, providing an alternative to beach activities, especially for the little ones. However, we were disappointed to learn about the fee to heat the pool only two days before our arrival. The cost to heat the pool was unexpectedly high and did not match was was listed, which came as a bit of a surprise. We decided to brave the cold water instead and this was a major downside to an otherwise wonderful stay. Despite the issue with the pool heating fee, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at "Why Knot." The house met our expectations in terms of cleanliness, comfort, and location. The layout was ideal for our group size, allowing us to spend quality time together without feeling cramped. Overall, we would recommend this property for families or groups looking for a spacious and well-equipped beach house. Just be sure to inquire about any additional fees, such as pool heating, well in advance to avoid any unexpected expenses.
