A Great Week in Unit 43

We spent a week on the property with our two teenage kids. The house layout was perfect, with the master upstairs and the two other bedrooms, sharing a bathroom on the main floor. Everything was clean and looked just like the pictures. The location was great. It was very easy to find multiple Excursions in the area from parasailing to fishing to boat rental to jet skiing. We enjoyed playing pickleball and par three golf on the property. The walk to the beach was very easy and the pool was on the way. Just be sure to note that you might want to bring some beach chairs, otherwise it costs 32 for four hours on the beach to get two chairs in an umbrella. Also, there is a very convenient snack bar on the beach, the food is good, but be aware that the prices are pretty high for what you get. Lots of fun fishing down on the dock by the Louisiana Lagniappe restaurant. We ate there as well and it was absolutely delicious. Some of the best food we had while we were there.

Expected better

Sandpiper Cove as a community is excellent, as we have previously experienced on prior trips. This is why we chose a Sandpiper property. Additionally the few times we had to contact Panhandle Getaways (property mgmt company), we had quick responses to our requests. However, we noticed less than expected cleanliness of countertops and floors, and minimal consumable items for a 6 day stay. We had to call maintenance to clean mildew from several A/C vents. Bathtubs drains were continually backing up due to clogging from sand. Some ceiling fans/lights were not functioning correctly. Supplies for kitchen was limited. We had to use one laundry soap pod provided to wash bath towels during the week. We had to use dishwashing packet provided to start dishwasher upon departure as requested. We did request trash bags from housekeeping as only one was provided. Salt & pepper, coffee filters, and dish cloths would have been nice to have as well instead of having to purchase these in addition to the above mentioned items for the duration of our stay. We have stayed at several VRBO properties, but have experienced more cleanliness and conveniences than what we experienced during this stay.

First time in Destin

Great location. Description of property was off a little. Implied that your boat would fit under home as long as it was less than 30’. But in fact no boat with a ttop will fit. Also implied a boat slip was included, not true. Even though this condo was located where we could have parked the boat on the trailer in front on the road due to it being a dead end, it was NOT allowed and we had to either pay $321 for a boat slip or remove the boat from the property. Other than that everything was GREAT! Location was great, rooms were nice.

Destin family trip

Here with 27 family members on the complex. Everyone loved it & want to come back! Beautiful accommodations everywhere here & the beach is white sand & clear turquoise warm water! Easy availability for groceries, etc. Everything was perfect!

Excellent Stay

The property is great and is walking distance to a fabulous restaurant and beach. The actual unit was spacious and perfect for a small group. The only critique i would have as a former host would be to include condiments (salt and pepper for example) and coffee - other than that it was excellent!

Destin Getaway

Very nice home, comfortable. Lots of space and convenient to the beach. Property, pools were clean and well kept. Snack bar and rest rooms by the beach was very convenient so we didn't have to keep going back to the house. Would defiantly stay there again.

Clean but Unmaintained

Condo was clean and well appointed in appearance but there were lots of problems caused by lack of maintenance. None of the TVs worked. After several phone calls to property managers the tv in the master upstairs finally worked but it was the only one for the entire stay. To be fair the property mangers were prompt and helpful but they could only do so much. The washing machine does not change cycles so clothes cannot be properly washed. Both bathtubs do not drain despite two bottles of liquid Plummer I bought and used. The outdoor light at the top of the stairs is out making it dark and dangerous and hard to get in/out at night. Despite all this we did have a great vacation! Location is ideal!

Had issues with housekeeping but overall a great experience

Upon check-in, our unit hadn’t been cleaned. We called the housekeeping line, they explained they had until 6pm to service the unit and asked that we “go find something to do”. We can back at 615 expecting to unpack and shower to find that our unit still hadn’t been cleaned. Spoke to the property manager who also asked that “we go find something to do”. Our unit was finally ready for us at 845. While all that was very frustrating, when the unit was finally cleaned, it was perfect. It was stocked with anything we could possibly need, even board games for the rainy days. The furniture is comfortable and made us feel at home. Thank you for sharing your vacation home with us. It’s beautiful!

Could have been better

The condo could have been cleaned better. First day there, there was sand all in the floors, the toilet had not been cleaned and the upstairs bedroom was the same. Also upstairs there were not enough towels or wash cloths. When looking for a condo online I had asked for beachside. Once we got there we found out the condo was across the street from the beach. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!

Facility not up to par.

We were extremely disappointed with the cleanliness or lack there of of the condo and with the general repair of the place. There is no way the place had been cleaned prior to our arrival. There were several pop cans under one of the twin beds. There was dust, dirt, and pieces of some kind of chips under furniture in the living area. The glass shower door in the downstairs bath was hanging by one roller ready to fall off and the shower neck was leaking badly and finally completely broke off in my son's hand as he adjusted it. Three light globes on the ceiling fans were broken. The lights in the ceiling fan upstairs didn't work. They were all broken. The patio doors were almost impossible to close and lock. We are not people to complain about trivial things but this facility was awful and I will never book again. In my opinion we deserve a refund but I know that won't happen. Someone needs to inspect these places to insure they meet the standards they depict in the pictures. This was one of the very few vacations I have taken and was thrilled to leave the place and come home.

Great place to stay, could not connect to WiFi

This a a beautiful place to stay while in Destin and it is very reasonable. Only problem I had was connecting to the wifi. There were several networks and passwords in our unit although none of them worked. Even after calling the office and going up there still the passwords fiven were incorrect. Again it is a great place to stay minus our internet issues.
