Lakefront Cottage: King Bed, Dock & Screened Porch

Sunfish Cove is a standalone lakefront cottage on its own private property in Huntersville. Settle into a king bed, sip coffee on the screened porch and unwind beside Mountain Island Lake. A cozy choice for a romantic getaway or a restful stay while visiting family, working or exploring Charlotte—with a private yard, dock and parking, and no shared guest spaces.

The cottage
The single-level cottage has a separate bedroom, living and dining area, kitchenette and bathroom. It is arranged primarily for two guests, with a living-area sofa bed for a third registered guest.

Everyday comforts
• Smart TV with Netflix, YouTube and Pluto TV, plus an antenna for a wide selection of local channels. Reception and programming vary.
• Fiber Wi-Fi for staying connected.
• Walk-in shower with shower chair, towels and a hair dryer.
• Kitchenette with a full-size refrigerator and ice maker, K-cup and drip coffee makers, microwave, single burner, toaster oven, Crock-Pot slow cooker, griddle and Instant Pot, plus dishes and utensils for simple meals.

Outdoor spaces
Settle into a rocking chair or the porch swing with a throw blanket on cool mornings and evenings. Watch the lake and enjoy the surrounding nature; deer and other wildlife are sometimes spotted. The spacious yard includes a hammock, small sandy beach with umbrella, and a firepit with a cooking grate. Beach towels, sunscreen and a gas grill are provided. The covered patio has a foosball table and an outdoor flat-screen TV with antenna channels. Private on-site parking includes space for a boat trailer.

Enjoy a lakeside setting in Huntersville with coffee, dining, nature trails and Charlotte outings within driving distance.

Coffee and dining
Canal Coffee Co. is about 10–15 minutes away. First Watch offers breakfast and brunch; Chick-fil-A, McDonald’s and Outback Steakhouse are about 15–20 minutes away. Birkdale Village, about 8 miles away, offers more restaurants and shops for an evening out.

Getting around
A car is recommended for dining and local outings. Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is about 30–35 minutes away by car; allow extra time for rush-hour traffic and your flight.

Guest access
The entire house, screened porch, yard, dock and parking are reserved for your stay; no other guest accommodations share the property. Self check-in is by keypad. The two storage sheds are not for guest use.

Additional notes
• The hot tub is unavailable and is not included with reservations. No opening date is promised.
• Boats and kayaks are not supplied. The position of the pontoon and other movable waterfront items may vary.
• The kitchenette has no full-size stove or conventional oven.

Property details
• This is a residential cove. Aircraft can be audible, and flight activity varies.
• Owners may occasionally access their boat at the dock.
• The dock has no railing. Supervise children around the water and follow the dock rules in House rules.
• Exterior security cameras monitor the front porch/driveway and backyard.
• The porch washer uses cold water only and may be unavailable in freezing temperatures.
• A first-aid kit is kept in the bathroom.
• The floating alligator near the dock is a decoy used to help deter geese.

Booking and house rules
Ordinary dates have a two-night minimum; selected holidays require longer stays. Register a third guest before arrival so bedding and towels can be prepared; visitors require prior approval.

No pets. Service animals are accommodated under Vrbo's service-animal policy without an animal surcharge. Smoking is allowed outdoors only, with doors and windows closed; no indoor smoking or vaping.

Please follow the full House rules, including quiet hours and dock safety. Report any damage or problem promptly. Documented damage or excessive mess may be addressed through Vrbo's applicable process; normal wear is not damage.
