Escape to the rustic beauty and countless outdoor adventures that await you at this charming cabin set back among the ponderosa pines here in Lakeside! While you'll enjoy easy access to hiking trails, shops, and local restaurants, this secluded home is just a short drive from several other attractions including the White Mountain Nature Center, Woodland Lake Park, the Pinetop Lakes Country Club, Rainbow Lake, and Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area, all within 14 miles of your front door. Other nearby attractions include Hon-Dah Casino (7 miles) and Sunrise Ski Resort (33 miles).

Step inside this spacious lodge and discover a soaring ceiling set over an inviting and sunlit great room. The upper level hosts the main living area along with the full kitchen, master bedroom, and bathroom, while the lower level bedroom offers two double beds and an additional bathroom—providing a comfortable and practical layout for families or groups. Dine together at the adjacent pub-height table (ideal for family game nights) or head out to your covered and furnished deck, fire up the gas grill, and indulge in a perfect alfresco experience on the deck or at ground-level gathered around the picnic table. Back indoors, settle into the matching sofas in the main living area and stream all your favorite TV and movie channels, or move things out to the garage game room for a friendly competition of ping pong, darts, or foosball. At Double Decker, there is entertainment for every taste!

Additional fun features include unwinding in the hammock to stargaze or relaxing by the firepit for a cozy evening of storytelling and marshmallow roasting. Convenient features include a workstation for your laptops in the lower-level bedroom and a private washer/dryer

This is a great place to stay, roomy and clean. The only (slight) drawback is carting everything up a flight of stairs to the main living area and had a little challenge figuring out the tv remotes, but it all worked out. The deck was most enjoyable to enjoy the afternoon rain. We did call the host once to help us with exact instructions to lock the door, but they told us what to do and problem solved within moments. Great communication, very happy with our stay.

My wife and I stayed at the property for 3 days. The decor is very beautiful and the outside deck was awesome. The weather was beautiful there and we slept on night with the house open and listened to the cicada's and wind through the pines. I would suggest not doing that all night since the noises in the morning start early as side by side and resident start leaving around 6:00 am to commute to work and play. The professional BBQ was great we cooked out every night and sat on the porch. It was the relaxing weekend we needed after a long summer in Phoenix.

Wonderful Mountain Home

This house was perfect for a family weekend in the Mountains. We really enjoyed the house and the property. The balcony is amazing. The house had everything we needed and it is in a great location. The house had plenty of space to relax. The boys loved the game room and the disc golf hole on the property. I would highly recommend this property and would love to stay their again.

Comfort in the Pine

The cabin was clean, comfortable and well appointed. An outstanding feature was the wraparound deck on the second floor that gave a feeling of living in a tree house. Only suggestion would be to add a safety rail in the very deep tub/shower combo.

Just as advertised except the smell

I wanted to give a 5 star review, however the smell in the upstairs part of the house was so bad that it was nauseating. The house itself was very clean and well kept and very well stocked and had a lot of games. The outside was beautiful and serene except the dog next door does nothing but bark at you the entire time your outside so as beautiful as it is it was almost impossible to enjoy it( I do understand that this is not the owners fault and they have no control over this) The smell was not from “old cabin smell “ I am assuming at one time time there was an animal that urinated in the house “extended amount of time” and it is just in the carpet and pad” as soon as you hit midway up the stairs it about knocks you out. I did go and buy air neutralizer and it did not help at all. As far as the cabin and the location itself was perfect and beautiful, if you can handle the smell it is a fabulous trip.

Clean but not very comfortable

The pluses: the cabin was pretty clean. The carpets could use some attention, and the rugs in the bathroom. There was a nice little game room set up in the garage. The negatives: the age is really showing at this place. Most of the blinds don't work properly so you can't completely close them. The location, while nice, is right off a busy street and the patio faces that busy street, so it got very loud at times. Also, we didn't use the backyard at all because of the neighbor's dogs. There is a fence, but the dogs were big and seemed like they could jump that fence if they wanted to. They would stand just on the other side and bark at us if we were in the backyard. But, the worst part was the beds. They were so hard and uncomfortable, none of us got a good night's sleep while we were there. With the hard beds and the rattling ceiling fans it was a rough two nights.Ultimately a vacation rental is meant to be comfortable, and this one wasn't. I would advise the owners to invest in updating this aging place and getting some more comfortable beds. It wasn't horrible and might be someone else's cup of tea, but we won't be staying again.
