Castaway is indeed a favorite amongst families! We are thrilled to read you loved the view, the pool, the location, and everything else -this is the classic Turks & Caicos experience :) Next time you stay in this part of the island, try walking to the nearby Da Conch Shack restaurant, it's just a minute (walking distance) away and it is one of the best restaurants on the island. It's always great to see our guests were "blown away" by the experience -that's always the goal! Castaway offers an idyllic layout and location for a group of friends or family. The rooms are designed to give everyone their own space with ocean views in every direction. Thank you for staying with us and taking the time to review your experience! We are disappointed to learn this guest was not pleased with her experience, this is the first complaint we have ever received about castaway so we take it very seriously! We have had 92 separate families stay in this villa and none of us can recall any of the families being dissatisfied in any way. Our guest satisfaction survey results reveal that Castaway is one of the most highly rated villas in our portfolio. So that we don't miss anything we have responded to each point below. Free unadvertised kayaks - When most guests arrive they are pleasantly surprised to learn of the existence of complimentary kayaks and a multitude of other complimentary unadvertised amenities. We regret that this valuable unadvertised amenity was not to the guest's satisfaction. Free unadvertised snorkel gear - There are several sets of snorkel gear and fins at the villa, apparently not in the correct size for this guest and we send our apologies for that. Refrigerator failure - This brand new $10k sub zero refrigerator, unfortunately, failed because it overheated when the door was left open. The $2800 repair bill was not charged to the guest. Tea Towels and oven mitts - We thank this guest for alerting us that the tea towel supply was not sufficient, we have added more. An ample supply of silicone pot holders and mats exist, however recognizing that some guests may prefer traditional oven mitts we went out and bought a bunch. Thank you. Wine Cooler - We understand the wine cooler failed and needed a replacement part from off island. Hopefully one of the other refrigerators in the villa provided suitable wine storage in the interim. Hot water - the hot water is set to 130 degrees F and we have had no complaints prior or since about this not being hot enough or running out. Castaway has a maximum occupancy of 10, so perhaps the extra unauthorized people in this guests party were more than the hot water system can support. We are sorry for that. We feel it is important to mention that this guest advised and threatened that if we ​didn't pay her $7,000 to compensate her for her poor experience she would take to the internet and write negative reviews on as many platforms as possible. She mentioned it was easy for her to do so as she is a professional t​r​avel agent with (____ Travel) in Virginia. ​ ​We send lots of positive energy to this guest in hopes her future travel adventures are more to her satisfaction.
