Very nice place but typically when we stay in Key Colony places there are left over supplies such as garbage bags, dishwasher soap, salt, pepper, etc. This place was cleaned out. I can only assume the maids take it or have been told not to leave it. We always do the same with leaving behind what someone else might be able to use but not this time. I know times are tight but we stayed here once before and our experience was definitely different.

Hi Kim, We appreciate you taking the time to leave this review. Please know that we stock each home with what is called a "starter supply" of basic items. It is not designed to be an unlimited supply but, rather, to get a typical reservation through a weekend or get folks started so that they can enjoy their arrival days, take inventory, and pick up whatever else is needed to get them through their trip. Prior to each stay, we stock dish soap, laundry detergent, a roll of paper towels, toilet paper, a dish brush to wash dishes, a few trash bags, dishwasher detergent, bar soap, and the standard bathroom amenities you might find in a hotel. Thanks again for your feedback!

Great place

We rented this hime for my daughter's destination wedding, for myself, wife and friends. The layout gave us privacy, yet common space. Would rent it again. Oh, and it withstood Tropical Storm winds from Hurricane Ion.

Beautiful home

This house was a beautiful house, beautiful neighborhood, the house was very very clean when we got there! The location of the canal was perfect if you bring a boat. You can either go out to the Atlantic or the Gulf without trailering your boat or driving on your boat for a long distance. And it's not a vary far ride at all from your house. Will definitely be booking again!

Tropical home away from home

Three bedrooms- three baths was a plus but this house provided so much more!! The upstairs provided its own apartment feel to it away from the main rooms. The quiet waterfront view every morning from the balcony was heavenly! The house was spacious with a very “beachy” feel to it! It was SO well stocked! Abundant towels, linens etc. There was nothing you could want that kitchen did not have!! The location was perfect!! Close to many attractions and secluded enough to feel like your own tropical paradise! Key Colony is one of the friendliest places we’ve ever visited!

Great stay very relaxing

Property was nice. A little TLC needed in the cleanliness and wouldn’t hurt to update the very 1990’s furniture and decor. Couch felt like you were falling into it and recliner was crooked, felt like you were going to end up on the floor. But the location couldn’t have been better. Very spacious. Still had a very nice time.

Terrific Family Vacation!

My family and our six grandchildren vacationed for the week in this vacation house. The house was spacious and the location couldn’t have been better. The entire house was just gorgeous. We would definitely stay in next year! Lots of family memories were made.

Beautiful house

The house was beautiful and spacious. We traveled with my parents and 2 kids. We each had a bedroom. The upstairs room was perfect for our kids(25 & 21). They had their own privacy. The only disappointment was the pool and private beach. It is about 20 minute walk away. And the beach is very small.

I’ll start with Bad, Good, then Overall. Bad - This property is good but could be better. We knew we were staying in a duplex but we were all fooled by the wording of “shared pool” we took that as sharing with the other people in duplex. It is actually a COMMUNITY pool. So the kids were disappointed and It really changed the vacation. The house was pretty dirty. Left over dirty socks, clothing and toys from previous people. A bunch of food crumbs in the upstairs wicker furniture.Ceiling fans were disgusting. Thought this was all weird considering the pandemic. Could also use a new refrigerator. Good - Size of house is great. The upstairs loft is perfect for a small family. Plenty of parking. Fits a boat trailer. Had a dock for the boat. Neighborhood is great. Easy access on boat to everything. Very easy process of checking in and checking out. Plenty of cooking and dining stuff. Overall - Satisfied.

Sons Senior Trip

We brought our family here for my sons senior trip. There were 7 of us and the house had plenty of room. Upstairs was perfect for our 3 teens to have their own space. The only 2 issues we had were the fishing wasn’t great out of the canal, and the house wasn’t ready when we arrived at 4. Cleaning crew arrived a few minutes after 4, and the house was ready by 5. Other then that we had no problems and would rent here again.

Third year in this property. Great location for the boat and a very nice home.

Really frustrated that we had the issue with garbage can and could not get it returned. Eventually, Vacasa just stopped responding. It took me three days to figure out a number to call locally for help. Third floor bathroom really needs. Good cleaning/ refurb.

Great stay with friends

Rented both sides of house with friends and brought 2 boats and 2 Jet Skis. Although wave heights were too much to go snorkeling from our boats, we still had a great time fishing and hanging on the sand bar. Neighbors were super nice and helpful.

Excellent Home for a bigger crowd

We had two families (2 couples, plus 4 college boys) and this place was just about perfect. I will say if you have groceries with you upon arrival, the refrigerator needs 12 to 24 hours to cool down because they turn it off to clean it (I never heard of that). Thankfully no food was lost. But all else was great. Perfect size, great well-equipped kitchen, good amenities all around, and ample room. We have a 25' cobalt boat. the dock was a bit odd because it had one half of it very high and the other half low (but good for boat entry). The pillars are vertical so your buoys aren't going to work well. It would be good if they put up bumpers on the vertical poles. But we made it work. Location is excellent. Easy to get gas at Captain Hook's full service dive shop and marina. Easy access to the Gulf and Atlantic. We only go on Atlantic as the snorkel and dive sites are better. Great time and very responsive owners/managers.

Paradise!

We had a wonderful experience at this location! The boat dock was great, the local neighbors were very friendly, the scenery was as you would imagine and the pictures accurately depicted the home. We had 2 families here with 4 adults and 4 kids. The upstairs room is very large and we were able to put all the kids up there. I did bring a blow up mattress, as the two beds up there are doubles and we had 2 grown teenagers and then put one small kid on that couch. Without this setup I’m not sure where they get the sleeps 9 from. House was equipped with more towels, blankets and sheets than we would ever need. Kitchen was fully equipped, except coffee pot was only a 4 cup - so small! We spent Thanksgiving week here, cooked a full feast, rented a boat for the week and made the best memories! Would do this home all over again!

Great home!

We had a wonderful time in this home. Two families, 4 adults and 4 kids. We spent Thanksgiving week and made a full holiday meal, the kitchen had everything we needed. Local neighbors were very friendly! We put all the kids upstairs and that room is as big as you would hope. My only two things are the coffee pot was a 4 cup, so we had to make several pots to get through the adults in the morning and the upstairs beds are doubles (we had two grown teens) so had to use the couch upstairs and a blow up mattress we brought with us for the littler kids. The house was clean and we had plenty of bed sheets, bath and beach towels. We rented a 24 foot boat and put it right up on the dock. Loved this trip, Would do it again!

Great family boating trip in the Keys

Great house. Had everything we needed. Everything was in working order. Fantastic boat dock with quick access to the Atlantic and Gulf. We rented a boat for the week which we kept right at the dock. Upstairs level perfect for kids with two double beds, couches, big screen tv, and own bathroom. This house held our group - two families of four - perfectly. Hopefully we'll be back soon.
