Beautiful Stay in Fiumelatte

The apartment in was clean, quiet and had a fabulous view of Lake Como. Roberto picked us up at the local train station and also took us to the grocery store. The apartment is on the Patriarch's Greenway Path (La Greenway Dei Partriarchi) which is a set of streets and paths to Varenna that is marked here and there. We walked to Varenna from the apartment, according to Google Maps it is about 2-3 km. The apartment is on the third floor (2nd floor by European conventions), which is not unusual compared other apartments in Europe. In Varenna there are ferries to other towns along the lake.

Beautiful view of Lake Como!!!

The thing we love about traveling is the excitement of arriving at a new location. Varenna was no exception to the excitement of an intimate re-connection to Italy. Traveling up to this cute apartment from the main road was lovely. Arriving at the place with a wonder of "are we here?" was rewarded with a lovely view of the Lake. One always wonders about safety and security. Please don't have that worry with your stay at this cute apartment. Roberto will calm your fears when you arrive. I didn't really expect him to carry bags up the steps but there he was helping us to get settled. He brought us a lovely bottle of local wine from the community. Now we had already purchased some from the grocery store down the road but here he was with this cute bottle. It was better than much of what we had already purchased. Not only that I asked him if I could buy another bottle for another evening. He brought it to us...and wouldn't let us pay. Thanks Roberto! Getting around the lake is charming and easy. Taking a shuttle boat to Bellagio and Mennaggio is easy to do and really convenient. You get off the boat and walk easily to visit these hill top communities. While those are featured, don't forget the ease of enjoying Varenna from this cute apartment. The people are charming. The community glad to receive you/us. Also, remember that driving Italian roads does not accomodate a large auto. Small cars are easier to park at this apartment and most others. The neighborhood was accepting of our car parked right there with their own cars. All in all, I hope all of you reading this will consider renting this apartment. I want it there the next time we come to Lake Como!

Agréable sejour

Séjour agréable à varenna chez Roberto très accueillant . Attention cependant à l'appartement qui est en situé sur une hauteur il faut grimper et il faut de l,endurance . Il y a une place de parking pour la voiture près du logement. Le logement est à 1km5 de varenne et comme les places de parking sont rares mieux vaut y aller à pied. Autrement le logement est bien et la vue est magnifique. Il y'a aussi une belle terrasse avec table et transats . Merci à Roberto pour sa disponibilité. Les italiens sont charmants.

Fantastisch!

A lovely apartment with a stunning view.

We stayed at Bellavista for 10 days and were very sad to leave. The apartment was very clean , spacious, the beds comfy and there was plenty of storage space for clothes. It was very hot while we were there and the air conditioning was very efficient. The view from the terrace was simply stunning and ideal for watching the world go by. The apartment was in a peaceful situation but a fair walk in to Varenna but one we looked forward to each day........the views were so stunning. There is a restaurant a few yards away , lovely food but maybe a bit expensive for some. There’s another restaurant in Fiumelatte and a bakery ( only open mornings) . But there are plenty of eateries in Varenna which is a short train ride away from Fiumelatte and a couple of small grocery shops. An added bonus to our holiday............the owners Roberto and Antonella were super friendly and helpful.Roberto kindly took us to a large supermarket to stock up on supplies and took us to the station on our last day and the offer of a lift anywhere was always there. They also gave us a bottle of red wine and a huge surprise of a bottle of prosecco for my birthday. You couldn’t ask for friendlier and more helpful hosts. A big thank you to them both.

Special place near Varenna

Very spacious well equipped place above the town of Fiumelatte near Varenna. Lovely view of Lake Como from the balcony, we enjoyed sitting there in the evening.

Loved our stay in Varenna at this apartment with incredible views of Lake Como! The apartment had everything we needed, and the owners are so sweet and friendly. Be prepared to walk up some steep steps to get that million dollar view!

The apartment was perfectly clean and had stunning views of Bellagio, Managgio, and the Alps. The location in Fiumelatte was perfect for exploring nearby villages by foot (if you like to hike) and by ferry. Roberto and Antonella were incredibly welcoming.

Spacious. The third bedroom is big. It's just that you cannot stand fully. View spectacular.

We had a great time. There is lots to explore in Fiumelatte and Varenna and further afield. The owner Roberto could not have been more helpful. It was November and unusually wet; we asked for the heating to be put on. We had to pay extra for this, which is fair enough Probably best to agree this in advance. Worth knowing also that access is via 57 steps and the car needs to be parked along the road a bit (common in this part of Italy).

Amazing lake views

We have just spent 5 nights in Lake Como staying in Fiumelatte and it was incredible! The apartment has a balcony accessible from both the master bedroom and the living area, and the lake views are beautiful. There’s also a small garden area with outside seating which our 2 young children enjoyed playing in. We hired a car while we were there and there is free parking a short walk away, next to a small children’s playground. The apartment has everything you might need when self catering, and there’s a small restaurant about 4 doors down. Fiumelatte is about 5 minutes drive from beautiful Varenna where you can get the ferry over the lake to explore further afield. Roberto and his wife are extremely friendly and welcoming, happy to help with any queries we had and we’d definitely consider staying here again.

Amazing apartment, spectacular views and great host.

This apartment was amazing and very comfortable. The panorama view from the balcony was unbelievable. Apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay including a small garden with an additional sitting area (also great view) and barbecue facilities. Roberto was a great host. He was always helpful, showed us the easy way to go to Fiumelatte beaches, and advise us on the best hikes in nearby mountains. His tomatoes and wine were delicious. Fiumelatte is great place but is good to do some research in advance. There are a couple ways to walk to Varenna it easiest is to use Pariarchy Greenway which is relatively easy walk with nice views or more difficult Sentiero del Viadante. The nearest beach from the apartment is 8-10 minutes downhill and maybe 15 minutes uphill this was a small but lovely stony/gravelly beach most of time completely deserted. Overall we had perfect time and thank you Roberto.

Outstanding!

Villa is amazing, views incomparible- photo's do not do it justice. Antonella and Roberto were incredibly warm and welcoming hosts five stars for that alone! Recommending this villa to everyone i know. The area itself is magical, from the lake and mountain views to the beautiful itallian towns and villiages (we drove to Italy so had a car and at least passed through the majority of them even if not stopping on every occasion). The view from the top of the mountain from Pigra (reached by cable car from Agregro) is unmissable. When you have visited the many beautiful locations by road or foot, hire a boat for a couple of hours and see them from a different perspective. One of the most beautiful locations i have visited and my wife was a travel agent for 20 years so i have seen a few! For those of you with the stamina for it, drive there through Austria and Switzerland to make the journey part of the holliday -24 hours or so depending on chosen route and stops from manchester uk! Don't miss this destination.

Ausstattung, Lage, Organisation: Alles perfekt

Die Wohnung war exakt so, wie sie im Inserat beschrieben wurde. Der Blick vom Balkon und von der Terrasse im kleinen Garten war sogar noch umwerfender als auf den Fotos. Die Wohnung bietet zusätzlich zu den beiden Schlafzimmern und dem Wohnzimmer mit Küche noch einen sehr kleinen vierten Raum, in dem zwei weitere Personen schlafen können. Allerdings ist dieser Raum eher für Kinder geeignet, da die Stehhöhe sehr gering ist. Auch Handtücher werden (positiv) abweichend von der Beschreibung von den Vermietern gestellt. Beachten sollte man, dass in der Beschreibung korrekt steht: "Parkplatz am Haus". Aufgrund der Lage am Hang bietet das Grundstück keinen privaten Parkplatz auf dem Grundstück der Ferienwohnung. Ein öffentlicher Parkplatz, mit (meist) freien Stellplätzen liegt aber wenige Meter bergab von der Wohnung entfernt. Zum be- und entladen kann man jedoch kurzzeitig auf der Einfahrt des Hauses vor einer Garage parken. Alles war sehr sauber und gepflegt und freundlich eingerichtet. Einziger kleiner Kritikpunkt ist der geringe Wasserdruck in der recht engen Dusche, der verbessert werden könnte. Der Kontakt mit den Vermietern Antonella und Roberto hätte nicht unkomplizierter sein können. Auf unsere Anfragen wurde in weniger als 24 Stunden geantwortet, kurz vor der Abreise erhielten wir eine detaillierte Anfahrtsbeschreibung inklusive Fotos (wichtig, da die Via Pino an einigen Stellen sehr eng ist und die Wohnung für normale PKW daher nur von einer Seite erreichbar ist), die Schlüsselübergabe war äußerst einfach, da die beiden nebenan wohnen, die Abrechnung problemlos. Wir wurden äußerst herzlich empfangen und haben uns von Anfang bei unseren sehr gastfreundlichen Vermietern sehr wohlgefühlt. Wir können diese Wohnung wärmstens weiter empfehlen und werden sicherlich noch einmal wiederkommen. Herzliche Grüße an Antonella und Roberto!

Appartement Lac de Côme

L'appartement est situé au 3ème étage d'une maison sur la colline.La vue sur le Lac de Côme est très belle, que ce soit du balcon (plus petit que sur la photo) ou de la terrasse aménagée dans un petit jardin (très agréable). L'appartement bénéficie heureusement de la climatisation (sauf dans une chambre), car nous avons eu très chaud. Les points négatifs sont que la cuisine est très petite, de même que la douche.De plus, les voisins du 2ème étage sont relativement bruyants. Les propriétaires, eux, sont charmants et accueillants. Varenna est une jolie petite ville, mais il vaut mieux avoir une voiture pour y aller. Si vous y aller, nous vous conseillons de louer une bateau à Varenna (près du Ferry), vous passerez un très bon moment à un prix raisonnable.

The walk from Fiumelatte (uphill) to the apartment takes about fifteen minutes but the view from the highest point of the path is well worth the climb. The atmosphere and the place itself was magical and allowed us to relax and delight in the early morning sunshine and to experience some wondrous sun-sets at dusk This is an ideal location and apartment.which had everything we required including our own private garden. This privacy gave us a sense of being away from the ‘madding crowd’ taking in the sounds and conversations of the local people. .Above all, the unobtrusive presence of our host who lives nearby made a major contribution to our enjoyment. Séjour très réussi dans l'appartement de la famille C. Le logement est spacieux, très bien équipé, très bien orienté, domine le lac à 180°. Le balcon permet de jouir de superbes levers et couchers de soleil. La petite ville est proche. Une terrasse et un petit jardin en contrebas avec barbecue et fauteuils invite au repos. Roberto et sa famille sont très accueillants et empressés. Ils se mettent en quatre pour nous faire plaisir. C'est un très bon point de départ pour les excursions en bateau, en train ou en voiture, pour Milan, Côme, ou Bergame. Sentiers de randonnée également. Nous recommandons vivement ce logement et cette famille. Ce sont maintenant des amis.
