Great Secluded Spot

Beautiful newly renovated with all the kitchen items anyone would ever need. Plenty of towels and linens. Beautiful scenery on the river. Plenty of room to lounge. Beds were very comfortable. Would definitely go back again. The place looks brand new.

Beautiful place and fully stocked with whatever you need to cookk with. Love the house and so peaceful and quiet! Was nice to relax for 5 daysin such a nice place.

Our family stayed at this beautiful home the first week of August. There are so many wonderful things about this place and we made amazing memories. The home is spacious for the 10 of us. Supper on the back deck every night was perfect. The scenery is beautiful. We fished and swam in the river every day. Having the small Sandy spot to enter the river was perfect for the little kids. We enjoyed the big inner tubes the home had ready for us to use. Floating over the blue hole was very relaxing. We never heard or saw the train once the whole week we were there. (Though garbage pick up at 6:30 AM on Monday morning was loud and startled us) The last 25 minutes from Buckhannon to the rental is very, very curvy and hilly. Absolutely beautiful, but you may get a queasy tummy if you go too fast lol. But once you’re at this home, the views are stunning and peaceful, and worth it.The beds were very comfortable, they had lots of beach towels, the grandkids loved the toys that were already in the closet. We took a day trip to the marina at Stonewall resort. They have boat rentals for the day. About an hour drive but very worth it. The back deck is huge with comfortable sitting chairs, as well as beautiful table and chairs. Perfect for naps, games, eating, and relaxing. We saw a bald eagle, lots of deer, geese, ducks, fish and even a snake. Lots of wildlife!Overall, this was a wonderful vacation rental home. Definitely worth coming back too.

Beautiful House in a Beautiful Setting

We are six senior kayakers who enjoyed three nights in this spacious, modern house on the Buckhannon River. This is a great choice if you are looking for a beautiful river view, listening to several species of birds, and don't mind the remote location. Not sure when the train runs, but we didn't hear it.

Gorgeous house in secluded location

Really nice house exactly as described. Beautiful deck overlooking the river with osprey and eagles soaring around. Everything was comfortable and just as described. It was a bit of a drive to get back to “civilization” but really nothing was out of reach. Loved our stay and would come back if the opportunity presents itself!

Great House

Start with the not positive, the house is located in a valley so winter weather made the roads not so great. The freezer could have been cleaner and lack of local stations made following weather and watching football games tough. The internet is not great.... Other than that, our stay was absolutely amazing! The house was perfect for our needs, warm, loved being on the river, and comfy couches. The little touches took it over the top. Plenty of blankets and seating. The house was very warm! We would definitely stay again, would like to be there in the summer also.

Scenic Serenity

The directions provided to find the house are detailed and were much appreciated. The house is beautiful. Clean. Plenty of room for everyone. The decor is warm and welcoming. The deck is awesome! Perfect for relaxing after an adventure filled day. The grandchildren enjoyed the house and the river. They enjoyed playing with the toy trucks. Nice selection of children's books for bedtime story time. Lannette was easy to communicate with. I would recommend this piece of "Heaven in a River".

What a gem!

This house was great! We made awesome memories and enjoyed all it had to offer! The river was beautiful, and caught some fish! Beds were comfortable, lots of room to spread out and the deck was phenomenal! Kitchen has all you will need to cook, bedrooms were a great size! Just a great time had by all!

Beautiful home and property

Me, my husband, and our 3 teenagers stayed here and absolutely loved this property! The house is beautiful, spacious, and equipped with everything you could need! The Kitchen is well stocked and even had basic cooking pantry supplies like salt, pepper, sugar etc. The huge deck out back is perfect for relaxing and listening to the birds chirp or watching the kids play in the river and eating meals at the large outdoor dining set. The river out back is stunning and the fishing is great. We caught many bass and trout during our stay. WiFi was great which was good to load our maps/GPS bedore we went out exploring the area. We visited the nearby city of buckhannon which was about a 30 minute drive and has anything you would need like fast food, gas stations, grocery stores etc. We also visited nearby Audra state park and it was a beautiful place with trails to hike and a nice place to swim in the river. The owners are very responsive and helpful if you need them, we would definitely stay again!

We had a wonderful time and really appreciate how clean and organized the home was. We were looking forward to the train, which never passed through. I highly recommend this property, wonderful, remodeling, easy check-in, and beautiful, relaxing location. The owners communicated clearly and available if needed.

Beautiful home!

We enjoyed our stay. This home was beautiful, very clean and had everything we needed. I was very impressed with how well the kitchen was stocked (waffle iron, crock pot and every utensil you will need) We absolutely loved the location. Mother nature decided to be a little crazy and we had everything from snow, extremely high winds and lots of rain. The owners were so helpful when we lost power. It was nice meeting Lanette and George. If you have an issue I promise they will quickly help. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Wonderful weekend in West Virginia

The home was updated and clean. The fishing was great. The scenery was very pretty. It's off the beaten path and the neighbors are a little intimidating, but they were as kind and welcoming as the property owners. I highly recommend this home for an off the grid getaway.

First visit to West Virginia

Pro: New/ just remodel house, spacious, well stock with kitchen appliances and utensils. Table pGames for children, wifi was great and tv services. Calm relaxing neighborhood and river view. Mattresses were comfortable enough. Nice hiking scenery around train tracks and view of wild life. Cons: Asian beetles alive and death in the upper rooms, we clean them the first night we got in the house, but they keep getting into the bedrooms and we have to pick them out of the beds, no cool. House it is really nice, minus the bugs.

Beautiful country and great place

We were very impressed with hoise and thrilled with the beautiful back country setting. House is clean and everything works. Great porch for outdoor dining and water to play in not to mention we want to come again and bring our 4 wheeler. Great experience!

Beautiful

It was a very clean and beautiful house. We had a couple issues getting there due to gps taking us on non-paved roads, but once there, we had no complaints. We eventually figured out the best route to take. The kitchen had everything we needed to make breakfast for everyone. There was plenty of room for everyone to relax and sleep comfortably. The house is located in a very quiet area.
