Thank you for taking the time to review. We clearly state the location and the crowding on the beach (it's all relative--have you ever been to a NJ or DE beach?) isn't a reason to create a 3/5 star review for the home. If there were cleaning issues, I'd appreciate specific feedback. We also encourage guests to contact us upon arrival or at any point during their stay to fix issues (such as cleaning) so we can correct them right away. We did not hear from you during your stay back in August that I'm aware of. Please know that when you review a property in the future, this is 'out there forever' for future guests and should be specific to your experience with the house--not your 'Emerald Isle vacation' as that is something homeowners don't have control over. Our prices are less than other comparable oceanfront properties in the same area so, again, this isn't constructive for other future renters as it is your opinion.

While we appreciate reviews, we also like when renters lead with the positive comments and if they complain, they'd have given us a chance to make things right during their stay rather than waiting to review negatively afterwards. There was not one communication about any issues during their June 14-27 stay. Homeowners prefer knowing about concerns that can be addressed during the stay rather than waiting and blasting a negative review that can't be 'undone.' We have an older oceanfront home with classic decor and a rental price tag that matches the age of the home. We've updated the areas like the decks, the kitchen and common areas every year and at great expense to us. You won't find a 5 bedroom (with 10 bedroom potential) oceanfront property with the value of ours anywhere on the island so next time, I hope Debbie does some homework before leaving a 3-star review on a 5-star-valued home.

While we appreciate your taking the time to write a review after your stay, we'd prefer to address issues as you have them so we can correct anything we are able to. We did get a new refrigerator ordered and delivered in record time, and there were items like at least a roll of TP left in each bathroom. It is not a hotel, but like most houses that owners rent, we allow tenants to bring their own items to save on fees or higher rental prices. The linen service is plainly provided (again keeping the fees lower and you know what is clean!) and I don't know about any rental cottages that include beach toys and chairs. The home is an oldie but a goodie and the prices are incomparable for such a wonderful view and proximity to the ocean. Things like lights and loose boards that we could've addressed while you were there we do take care of asap if we know about them. It's hard to make everyone happy and I'm sure you are the type of renter that would be hard to please in any situation. Good luck finding such a location at a similar price point. Updating (lack of detail in your writeup as to what that meant) an oceanfront home shouldn't have been written up as a review of your stay. We did everything we could to make your stay as great as it should have been and like I said, we can usually tell right away when guests are usually more trouble than they're worth.

Our 5 star cleaner had recent hand surgery and is training a new team but they always welcome feedback and try to fix anything that needs attention.

Latitudes is in an excellent location on the oceanfront--super centrally located on the island with tons to do. Glad you had a great visit on Emerald Isle and do hope you come back...hard to find a house at this price-point that has the option of 5 bedrooms or 10 if you rent both sides :) but yes, it's an older home with tons of character. Brand-new carpet upstairs but we're having issues with the new slider doors when it rains a certain way, though we think it is a porch roof issue that we're trying to figure out. Most folks have not used the TV/Cable option as they have internet/Netflix preferences so we have a basic setup. We tend to replace worn items (the one tile crack can't be fixed without replacing the entire sub- and tile floor unfortunately due to structural limitations) like area rugs and cushions in the spring and will certainly give attention to those things at the end of the rental season.
