Venga a experimentar una estadía lujosa en una hermosa casa frente al lago, planta baja, con playa propia. El lago es fresco, claro y limpio con muchos peces para la actividad de pesca en su propia playa privada. Compartimos dos botes de remos y 1 kayak con chalecos salvavidas para su placer de recorrer el lago de forma gratuita. La natación también es una de las actividades favoritas durante su estancia en la casa. La casa se encuentra a poca distancia de un hermoso parque verde y bien cuidado con zona de baño y un gran parque infantil para los niños.
Encontrará un dormitorio con cama Queen, un segundo dormitorio con 2 camas Twin para adultos. Sala de estar con 2 sofás cama configurables. Cocina completa con refrigerador grande y moderno con refrigerador de doble puerta y amplio congelador, estufa, horno, ollas, pantalones, utensilios, platos, tazas y vidrio. Sala de estar, cocina, comedor y dormitorio tienen vista al lago. El baño titulado está provisto de toallas y champú, acondicionador y jabón estándar. La lavadora y la secadora están disponibles para los huéspedes que se quedan más de 1 semana. Salga de su sala de estar a una gran terraza para disfrutar de la brisa fresca y la vista del lago. Hay una fogata en la playa privada para una noche de fogata con amigos, familiares o socios comerciales, dado que no hay prohibición de incendios. Los eventos son aceptables con recargos mínimos adicionales.
Para los viajeros de ocio, estamos en el corazón de la ciudad con infinitas actividades / atracciones en ciudades cercanas; yo. mi. golf, esquí, patinaje sobre hielo, actividades acuáticas, actividades de montaña, actividades de la ciudad, parques temáticos, etc. O simplemente puede sentarse en la terraza leyendo libros y disfrutar de la hermosa vista verde y la fresca brisa que ofrece el lago.
Para los viajeros de negocios, estamos muy cerca de grandes corporaciones como Wyerhauser, Boeing, Alaska Air, etc. Ven y quédate como un hogar cálido y acogedor lejos de casa mientras asistes a negocios.
Estamos a solo 15 minutos al sur del aeropuerto Sea-Tac y a solo 20 minutos del centro de Seattle o del centro de Tacoma, con una parada de autobús a solo una casa de distancia. Cerca de numerosas atracciones y, sin embargo, aislado para relajarse y disfrutar de la vista y las actividades en el impresionante lago durante unos días, especialmente con la magnífica puesta de sol.

Great Seattle and National Park location!

Great location for visiting National Parks and Seattle! Kathy was easy to communicate with and accommodating for our late arrival and throughout our stay. We enjoyed taking the boats on the lake too. Would recommend this place for visiting Seattle and/or Mt. Rainer and Olympic National park.

Lakehouse was great

This property was perfect. Rooms are comfortable. It was close to freeway and a quick drive to both Seattle and Tacoma. Very quiet area with a nice yard on the lake.

Great Getaway!

Very nice quiet place situated on a scenic lake. Beyond a covered porch - there's a grill, fire pit and access to a kayak. There's a nice kitchen and the place is clean and comfortable. The owners were friendly and quick to answer my questions.

Great location if your going to the National Parks. No more than 3 hour drive to either 3. Seattle space needle, about 35 minutes. Calming and peaceful lake front property surrounded by flowers, plants, ducks, geese and other wildlife. Host provided great recommendations for food and 4th activities. Gave us some mangoes, chocolates. Plenty of utensils, plates, cups, pots and pans. A lot of towels, beds are soft. A lot of soaps and shampoos. Huge refrigerator, microwave, full electric stove. Great lake views as you eat in dining table. The not so good. Horrible wifi. Had to forget and reconnect over 30 times. Speeds slow 7Mbps at times.TV screen burnt out. Difficult to see. Little kitchen counter space. Empty cans a few feet from property grounds of lake, tiny shower. AC is in room with 2 beds. No other AC in house, fan in main bedroom. If you like to sleep cold, not the best. Numerous steps, stones loose on the pathway.

House on the lake

It was very easy to communicate with Kathy, before, during and after stay. She met us at check-in, gave us a tour of the house and property. Invited us to eat as many pears, plums and apples as we wanted. There were kayaks and a paddle boat with safery gear for use. The lake is charming and so laid back. Would definitely return.

Vacation, but close to everything!

You probably wouldn't think of Federal Way as a vacation destination, but with this rental, you will absolutely get the best of both worlds: the outdoor quiet serenity of a private lakeside "cabin" feeling, but with all the convenience of being centrally located in Western WA.We enjoyed all of the amenities this home offered: the kayaks, grill, firepit, and pedal boats. The yard is HUGE and the landscaped flowers are gorgeous and add to the blissful nature "getaway" vibe. It turned our weekend that was originally just a family obligation trip into an entire holiday vacation full of memories and photos!Regarding the inside, other reviews point out that the layout is odd: yes, this is definitely a renovated downstairs where a kitchen was added-on but we did not find it inconvenient to use at all. Everything was so clean it seemed brand new. Also it helped that the host is really clear this rental is for small groups; we had no issues with the layout with 2 adults and 2 kids. Beyond that it would probably be crowded, but you could rent the upstairs instead. We had great communication with the host the entire time! I had a lot of questions about activities at the lake, and Kathy was so quick to respond! There are a few quirks but everything is labeled well and clearly marked in the house. We did not think of anything we wanted that was not provided. I would definitely rent from this host again and hope to use this property for a future vacation.

Cabin-like feel on a lake

Nice house on lake. Clean, well provisioned, great views and right on lake with use of paddle boat, pontoon rower, and kayak. Not high-end, more cabin-like. Great for our purposes, close to where a relative lived. Twin bedroom spacious, queen bedroom small. A couple of reviews complained about all the instructions and posted cautions. This is probably why the property is well-maintained. We found the owner friendly and very responsive. Appropriately priced, a good value for the price. excellent for small family.

small investments would make this property better. E.g., new pots/pans, new decent silverware, new decent mixing bowls, etc. Owners care about the property and are easy to interact with and are responsive. Just needs some small investments to make it less like a batchlor pad. Could also use quality twin bed mattress upgrades. Again, minor investments

peaceful scenery, great hosts, well furnished

we travelled to the home in Aug. we are a couple with 3 teens. Kathy and Todd are great hosts-- friendly and accomodating. Todd even gave us a parking pass for downtown seattle. can"t beat the beautiful view. the kitchen was great for making meals. very nice garden. home is close to groceries. There was only 1 window for the whole downstairs and ventilation couldve been much better especially b/c it was summer. they had everything we needed in the bath down to the thick towels, and toiletries. we felt their rates were quite reasonable.everyone slept well as the beds were very comfortable. all the comforts of home. would come back next time.

Beware

Two days prior to check-in, received somewhat threatening and wholly unethical (if now unlawful) note from owner stating that if we allow anyone not previously listed as a guest into property, then we would be ejected without refund. This note, which fundamentally novates the original agreement, is an avoidable stench on the property. Otherwise, the property is passably clean minimally equipped.

owner is a con artist

was sent threatening email before check in. there is only ac in one room. square foot size was fabricated by a lot. I had to check out early because of size and lack of central ac. The owner illegally charge my card. I never had a terrible experience like this before. Beware..

A lovely holiday oasis with the best host EVER!

This property is a hidden gem in so many ways. It's location between Tacoma and Seattle is super convenient, as well as the shopping district and highways nearby. The lake is tranquil and beautiful, especially at night. Despite being on a fairly busy intersection and overhead flight path, it's amazingly quiet (the unit faces towards the lake so we didn't even notice the traffic much). I didn't see any neighbors in the week that we stayed (end of May), other than flocks of ducks and geese that live on the lake. We also saw bats at night and bald eagles during the day. With kayaks and paddle boats to use, it made staying on the lake fun for the whole family. We especially loved sitting around the campfire at night. We were snug but very comfortable in our group of eight staying in the lower level of this two-unit home. But the BEST part of all was the incredible attention and communication by the host, Kathy! She is so thoughtful, kind, and caring. We will definitely contact her again if/when we stay in the Seattle/Tacoma area again! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Extremely disapointing

The lady was very nice, the roses were beautiful, but for wht we paid for, the rest of the grounds, the walkways down to the house and to the lake were deadly...the grounds were not kept up at all on the walkways and there were huge broken pieces of concrete to walk over and rusted steel rebars sticking up out of the ground. We were told to bring our own laundry detergent and to leave the key in the dryer when we left.....there was no washer and dryer so we ran out of clothes. We were given 4 towels for four days with four people. The stove was filthy and would not use and smelled horribly of fish. Then, the lake itsel, we went in one time because the seaweed was so thick, even in the middle of the lake, it totally grossed us out. We enjoyed the grandkids and still had fun playing games etc., but the rest sucked. Also had to share the small dock with a family of five from nextdoor, no room and very awkward. Never again would we rent from these people on this lake.

Great view & pleasant stay

I’d like to start off with how great the view was during our stay. It’s quite picturesque & peaceful looking out into the open lake each morning and evening. Our stay there was for the most part very comfortable, but definitely could use some improvements to make it better. There’s hand written signs everywhere stating what to do and what not to, we found it more tacky than helpful. The master bedroom bathroom had a lock on it, and was told that if we would like to use it, we’d have to pay more. We understand that the rental listing clearly says there’s only one restroom, the mere fact that there was a restroom there but had a lock across the door was an eye sore. The master bedroom door had tape on it, so you couldn’t lock it, there were times where I was in the room changing and felt a bit uncomfortable and inconvenient that I had to go into the restroom to change bc my door couldnt lock. When booking, please note that even though the capacity states that 8 people could fit, but if you put you only book for 4 people, any additional will get charged, this included visitations for any reason. Lastly, there’s a camera that’s watching you, there’s a sign that states this outside, but just the thought of that was a bit weird and uncomfortable. Other than all of that, stay was good.

10 days on Steel Lake

We have rented the property for 10 days in June and July 2016. This home has served as our home base for 10 days, as we explored the area around Seattle. This was probably the best solution for our family of four, which includes two kids in middle school. We would go on day trips to Seattle, Vancouver, Olympic National Park and Tacoma. After each day trip, we would take a day off and spend the entire day at the house. The kids loved paddle boating, swimming in the lake, watching the ducks and frogs, and playing in the grassy back yard. The adults loved having a breakfast or dinner outdoor on the patio with the lake view, and simply relaxing with a book. The hosts occupied the upper level of the house, and took great care to provide us with privacy. They were friendly, and helpful with suggestions for restaurants, things to do, and how to avoid the traffic. The property itself was comfortable for the four of us, with plenty of windows to look at the lake. We almost always ate on the patio, with meals prepared after shopping at Trader Joe's or H Market ( Korean- Japanese store), both of which are within 2 mile drive. The bedroom is small, the bathroom has low ceiling, not for 7 foot basketball players. For future improvements, we would kindly suggest three minor things, better wi-fi internet, smaller cooking pot in addition to the 2 big ones, and better quality TV set. Also, in addition to the 2 paddle boats, we would love a small kayak or stand-up paddle board in the future. We very much enjoyed our stay, and would like to come back.

Sleepless in Seattle

Although the lake views was breathtaking, the home interior space was much smaller then we expected. This is a lower level rental and the ceiling was very thin as we could hear the person’s heavy footsteps walking around all day & night from the upstairs unit. It was annoying and very difficult to sleep at night. Due to this, we decided to spend our days/nights out of the rental which defeated the purpose of us choosing this rental. The washer/dryer is shared, the shower is extremely small, the toilet was strange/crooked, the refrigerator was in the living room, everything inside the home was outdated and the walk down to the rental was very uneven/unleveled concrete (steps) which made it difficult to bring luggage down/up from the car. I recently had surgery and it was very challenging for me to walk up/down. Risk/fall factor. Things were very outdated in the home and this property is definitely a fixer upper. The outdoor deck seems very poorly made and had broken structural pieces. The owner seemed nice and let us check in early, but she had so many unnecessary rules. I felt overwhelmed receiving her lengthy messages prior to checking in. Lastly, I did not appreciate someone shutting off the dryer cycle while my clothes were being dried. Im not sure if it was the upstairs tenant or the owner. We checked in and were hoping to get some laundry done as we got off a cruise, but laundry was left in the dryer so we waited patiently until the evening. Overpriced.

Avoid this property

After inital good communication with owner, we arrived very late to an abysmal property that was nothing like as advertised. Unsafe rock stairs to basement entrance. We informed thrbowner we would be arriving after dark and there was absolutely no appropriate loghting to find the key which was left in the bbq. Actually getting the door open in the dark was another obstacle. Once we were jnsode I immediately realized we couldnt stay. Thwre were no lights kn and we stumbled around looking for switches for light. More disappointing was that the unit was freezing and when we did have light the thermostate read 58. It was 11 p m and i had my young son with me. We were freezong trying to gwt the heat to turn on. After some back and forth the owner showed up and gave me a song and dance about the heat unit, the bottim line was, after 30min it was still 58deg. This doesnt even get to the part where the shower was a disgusting 3x3ft excuse for a shower, the "kitchen" was a fridge in the living area and essentially what looked like a temporary sink you would find in a camper. The owner refused to refund me in anyway. After an hour I ledt the unit for a hotel. If someone is willing to lose the cost of their stay and pay the cost for a hotel, then that tells you everything you need to know about this property. Avoid at all costs. I've happily stayed in many VRBOs for many years but never have experienced a situation as this. 9 out of 10 owners are excellent hosts, but not this one.

Fell short of our expectations

We rented this property for 10 days with full disclosure to the owner of our needs and intentions on June 1. We were visiting our family/grandchildren. The lake setting seemed to be a perfect location for entertaining them & and that our granddaughters might spend a night or 2. (You never know what teen/preteen girls will want). There was no opposition until 24 hours before our arrival when we received an email that stated she intended to charge more money if we had more overnight guests or even visitors to the property. This came as a shock. We had 2+ months to have this communication. She threatened eviction if we did not comply and pay in advance. We did pay an extra money against our best judgement to avoid conflict. This property is adequate for 4 people at best and would advise it be immediate family like parents with 2 children. This property can SLEEP 8 but there is no way 8 people can inhabit this space comfortably. The beds are comfortable. The hanging storage is limited in height. There is no hanging storage or bureau in the second bedroom. The kitchen lacks counter space. It is not set up to feed 8 people at the same table (table w 4 chairs provided indoors). The bathroom has a VERY small square shower with a low ceiling/inadequate for tall or large individuals. The sink, small with no counter space. There was construction on the property and on one occasion we returned home to find the workers and their family having lunch on our deck. In addition there was road construction during the entire stay with beeps from trucks backing up until 10:00 pm on one evening. The lake is good for kayaks and paddle boats not swimming. A muddy bottom that you sink down to your knees in when entering. The paddle boats have very poor steering. The path to the dock is tenuous at best, narrow and uneven as is the path leading to the entrance door. Not acceptable except to persons with good balance/ maneuverability issues The laundry room is a shared space with the rental unit upstairs. (Not stated in the listing). We had to contact the owner to give us access. This is a lower unit (probably a converted basement). There were guests above during our entire stay. One of the families had 2 small children with lots running and sounds of footsteps. The grounds are beautiful with blooming & fragrant flowers. It is not easy for me to give a bad review but these critiques are things we wished we were aware of before renting this property.

The house was very clean and the lake was beautiful however our stay did not exactly meet our expectations. The house itself is awkward and had a very strong smell of cleaning product or air freshener. Also it’s in the flight path of Seatac airport so there was a lot of noise from planes during the day. We found the communication to be a bit quirky there were quite a few rules and signs posted throughout the place (nothing unreasonable) which took away from the experience.
