¡Una increíble experiencia frente al mar te espera en el Castillo del Mar, que se encuentra en el Océano Pacífico!

Castillo Del Mar ofrece una increíble mezcla de vida interior y exterior, todo bajo el mismo techo. Esta casa recién amueblada aprovecha al máximo la increíble costa y ofrece vistas de clase mundial desde los niveles 2º, 3º y 4º que incluyen una increíble terraza en la azotea.

Cuando ingresa a esta casa frente al mar a través de su entrada principal en el segundo piso, se encuentra con una piscina interior / exterior del segundo piso y una sala de estar abierta. Junto a la piscina encontrará una zona de bar y barbacoa al aire libre con una pequeña nevera. Puede encontrar un lugar dentro y fuera del sol junto a la piscina para pasar el día disfrutando del sonido del océano y de la refrescante piscina.

El segundo piso también cuenta con 3 dormitorios y 2 baños. Dos de las habitaciones dan directamente a la piscina y al océano. Estas dos habitaciones tienen dos camas individuales que se pueden convertir en una cama king y comparten un baño separado. El tercer dormitorio en el segundo piso es una suite frente al mar que cuenta con una cama king size y tiene su propio baño y sala de estar. Esta sala de estar incluye un sofá cama para familias o grupos más grandes.

El tercer piso tiene una espaciosa sala de estar, una cocina completa y un comedor, todos frente a las aguas azules del Océano Pacífico. Este piso también tiene su propia suite principal frente al mar con una cama king size con su propio baño completo. Todas las habitaciones cuentan con terrazas privadas que miran hacia el océano o las montañas.

El cuarto piso o el techo es una terraza de tamaño completo para observar el atardecer, observar las estrellas y un lugar perfecto para reuniones con amigos y familiares. También hay una cómoda área cubierta para relajarse durante el día. Puedes ver el surf de clase mundial en Playa Negra desde esta terraza en la azotea.

El primer piso, o planta baja, ofrece un amplio garaje para dos autos, cuarto de lavado y área de ducha al aire libre.

PLAYAS: Disfrute de una pequeña playa directamente en frente de la casa, esta playa es principalmente de roca con muchas piscinas de marea para explorar. A través de la comunidad cerrada frente al océano, pasee 5 minutos por caminos bordeados de palmeras e hibiscos hasta Playa Negra Reef Break, Sandy White Swimming Beach y Open-Air Restaurant and bar. Está a 5 minutos en coche de Playa Avellanas North (arena blanca, arrecife / surf de arena, restaurante), y a 15 minutos en coche de Playa Junquillal South (arena negra, surf de playa). Estaremos encantados de indicarle otras opciones de playa en la zona.

UBICACIÓN: Esta casa está a menos de 2 horas del aeropuerto de Liberia y 4 horas al aeropuerto de San José. Está a solo 20 minutos de un gran recorrido en tirolina, o tome un tour a caballo al atardecer saliendo directamente de Casa Fuego. A 50 minutos de un paseo en bote por el río cubierto lleno de vida salvaje. A 20 minutos de Hacienda Pinella Beach Club and Spa, a 35 minutos de Tamarindo para ir de compras, menos de 3 horas al Parque Rincón de La Viejo (tour de canopy, tubos fluviales, cascadas, cabalgatas y baños de lodo de aguas termales).
O simplemente déjenos organizar un masaje en el hogar y un cocinero privado para eliminar todas sus preocupaciones.

Absolutely Outstanding

Everything about this house is practically perfect. From the layout, the views to the amenities. Just picture yourself drinking coffee on the roof top, eating fresh mangos and eggs looking out the picture window in the kitchen and spending the day relaxing in the beautifully temperate pool. You won’t have a problem finding what you need in a cabinet or what switch does what, everything is labeled. Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you may need. Bed was comfortable with nice bed spreads. House hosts were always available to answer any questions, even later in the evening. As other reviews mentioned we went to hotel Playa Negra two times for dinner about 5 mins in the car, nice place close by that you can feel safe at. Also went to Gregorio’s, also 5 mins away, which we highly recommend for good local cuisine at very reasonable prices and the owner was awesome. Be prepared to pay for parking 2,000 colones (4) anywhere near a tourist spot. My wife and I went for her birthday and our anniversary, we plan on coming back with our family of 12 soon! Thanks again!!

Absolutely INCREDIBLE stay at Castillo Del Mar !!!

We have had the privilege to travel to a lot of fun vacation spots and stay in some nice houses, but Castillo Del Mar blows the rest away! Our first trip to Costa Rica could not have been better. Family of five with three teenagers.It didn't seem possible but the property truly is better than advertised. The views are amazing, especially from the roof top with its 360 degree views of ocean, mountains and forest. From the house we saw horses, monkeys, iguanas and all kinds of awesome birds.The house is appointed with everything you will need. Very spacious. Extremely clean. The A/C was great. Very comfortable beds. Fast, reliable internet. Very safe neighborhood. The pool was very clean and nice. You will not believe how nice the shaded rooftop is! It's just a beautifully designed, comfortable house. The house location is remote and very quiet, very few tourists (which we wanted and loved). There are several good restaurants and coffee shops within a 10 minute drive.The beach in front of the house is rocky but when the tide goes out this provides hours of tidal pool exploring fun. Be sure you take snorkel gear, it's a blast here! You can walk 10 minutes (or shorter drive) to a traditional "sandy" beach with no rocks. The communication by Jarrod and team was so helpful throughout. They kindly answered my many questions pre-trip and quickly responded with questions/needs during the trip. Outstanding service!! Truly paradise. We cannot wait to return!

Incredible!

This property exceeded our expectations and is even better than the pictures portray! Communication throughout the process was great and Jarrod was very responsive. The property itself is a very high standard, very clean, quality furnishings and linens, comfortable beds, and very-well equipped kitchen. The location is spectacular with stunning views and walking distance to the small, quiet beach. The grounds are well maintained. We saw monkeys and iguanas in the front yard, and loved the mango and coconut trees. The pool was spotlessly clean, and the house felt safe. The restaurants recommended were awesome. If you are at all hesitant to book, just do it. You won’t be disappointed. Our only regret was wishing we could have stayed longer.

Getaway in paradise

Absolutely gorgeous home and heavenly location. The house was spotless and very well appointed with everything we needed. Jarod, Meaghan and PJ were excellent hosts, most helpful and prompt in answering all our questions and taking care of our needs which included a poolside couples massage which I would highly recommend. One of the best vacations of our lives thanks in large part to Castillo del Mar, the absolutely perfect weather for 14 days and our excellent hosts.

Perfect for family celebration

According to our daughter - better than advertised. Because of some flight issues, we were delayed a day but Jarrod was very helpful in getting my daughter and sil settled in. The propery was gorgeous and the top deck was great for meals - when it wasn't too windy but perfect for just sitting and watching the ocean either way. Almost stayed at an all inclusive in Tamarindo but glad we didn't. Our private pool was a great centerpiece. Miss it already.

Cannot recommend this place more

This property was absolutely amazing to stay in! The location is perfect, right by Playa Negra beach and a quick drive away to playa Avellanas. The house it’s self was amazing and the views of the ocean from every level of the property are spectacular. The rooftop was the perfect place to watch the gorgeous sunsets. Also Meaghan and Jarrod were both amazing as well, very helpful with connecting us to the right people for all of our activity inquires and very informational about stuff to do around the area! And also gave such detail directions to and from the house. Overall 1000/10 would recommend staying at Castillo Del Mar!

Perfect Getaway

Castillo Del Mar was a dream come true! Jarrod and Meaghan are excellent owners. We couldn’t have had a better time. The house is very well kept, well equipped for cooking, and perfect for a big family or group. The location is perfect for surfing, eating out, and seclusion. Can’t wait to come back!

Our entire family would move here

This property was as amazing as advertised. We travelled with two families, 4 adults and 4 children (ages 10, 12x2 and 14) and everyone had a phenomenal time with the property and the area. First off, the pictures don't do the property justice. The bedrooms are all very comfortable, the tv room (though you won't use it much) is very relaxed and the kitchen/dining areas are spectacular. We used the very well organized and labelled kitchen to sear and serve the yellowfin tuna we caught one day on a fishing expedition. Our son liked to sit on the window bench at the kitchen table to alternate between eating and gazing out across the pool, yard and across the ocean to the horizon. There are so many wonderful outdoor spaces, that even with spending a week there, we were unable to use them all. The second level outdoor table was perfect for morning coffee while looking out at the Pacific and allowed us to see whales out on the horizon on two different occasions. The roof patio is spectacular for spending time on the hammock, getting massages or gazing up at uncountable stars over a couple glasses of wine. We were around for New Years and viewed the Tamarindo fireworks kick-off at midnight from up on top of the house. The flora and fauna out back of the house also added to the magical experience. There's at least one 2 ft iguana that liked to sun between the amazing cacti out on the cliff over the ocean. We enjoyed daily walks along the rocky shore down to Playa Negra's Sandy Beach for our kids to hurl themselves into the surf. Also, Jarrod was very prompt and responsive to all of our questions about the area and helping locate excursions. We will go back!

Absolutely incredible

Our stay at Castillo Del Mar was absolutely spectacular. The view was breathtaking, easy access to the beach and incredible star gazing at night. The house came with all the amenities one needs for a vacation. Communication with the property management was timely and they were extremely helpful. I would highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Stunning views

The photos are very accurate. This home is beautiful and the view is breathtaking. The best part of this house was the rooftop lounge area along with the ocean view. The kitchen was equipped with everything you can imagine and everything was good quality. That is big plus for families that want to do their own cooking. This place is perfect for people that just want to relax and be away from the city. The only drawback is somehow bees were entering the upstairs bedroom from somewhere in the bathroom. The rest of the bedrooms didn’t have that problem. Keep in mind that the house is a bit far from supermarkets and restaurants and you have to drive on dirt roads. So make sure to get everything you need in town. Other than that we really had a wonderful experience and such a fun time in Rancho Playa Negra!

5 Stars - fabulous family vacation at Castillo del Mar

Our 9 night stay at Castillo del Mar was fantastic. We had 8 in our party - 4 adults and 4 children. Really couldn't have asked for a better home or better hosts - 5 stars all around... The house was perfect - great living space, kitchen, outdoor space, views, and the pool was outstanding. We visited while COVID-19 was expanding its impact globally, given this, we stayed at the house for all meals and made a few trips into Tamarindo for groceries. We had planned to eat out for some dinners, and planned to do a few excursions, instead we enjoyed the house, views, and had quality family time... Everything went smooth. We did have some dinners (and 1 lunch) prepared and brought in (La Ventana - Jennifer, she made us Miso Chicken, Lasagna, Fish Tacos, Coconut Curry Chicken, Mediterranean plate; and Always Fresh Catering - Michelle, she made us Fajitas, Carne and Pollo de Salsa). We would use them both again, and encourage you to try Jennifer's desserts (carrot ginger cake, and banana cake were fabulous). Last but not least, our hosts were amazing - attentive, friendly and really helpful. From preparation to our last day, both Jarrod and Meaghan provided us great service. Rafa was the main helper at the house as needed and was super friendly and got things done in a timely manner. We appreciate all the hospitality from the full team at Castillo del Mar. You will not regret staying at Castillo del Mar. 5 stars for sure, we look forward to returning in the future.... Spring Break 2020

Great house for a large group

We loved this property. From the pool to the rooftop deck, every space was amazing. Jarrod and his team made our stay very enjoyable. I would love to come back. The view of the ocean was spectacular. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped. I would highly recommend this house.

Relaxing beach stay

We had two families stay at Castillo del Mar and we all had a great time. The best feature for us was the pool. You could enjoy it at any hour of the day; during peak sun times you could still get some shade if you needed it, or a night take in all the stars. One small beach is just a few minutes walk across the grass, and a larger beach (where we went boogie boarding--it's too rocky at the beach nearest the house) was just about a 10 minute drive. The kitchen was very well-equipped, with a nice large table for everyone to fit around, the house is clean, beds very comfortable, and each room has a/c (but we liked to leave the sliding doors open to hear the ocean). The house also is stocked with some books and games if you need any help passing the time. We rushed up to the roof to catch the sunset every night, which was spectacular. Only thing to note is that the downstairs bedrooms each have their own outer door that faces the pool (as opposed to being inside the house/connected by a hallway), in case you have an issue with very young children getting up in the middle of the night, but our kids all liked their "independence". Jerrod and Meaghan were very helpful giving recommendations and setting up activities for us (and even advised when we were planning too much so we'd get plenty of R&R!), and put us in touch with a chef as (we had Michelle cook for us a few nights; she made simple but delicious meals that we'd recommend). A great week!

Beautiful vacation home, incredible location

Stunning sunset views over the ocean, from every room in this house, and a panoramic view from a large rooftop deck make this home truly special. Once we got all the groceries needed for the week, no one felt the need to leave. Easy beach access as well, 10-minute walk to Playa Negra surf spot at low tide, comfortable beds, beautiful pool to cool off in, or hang out and have some drinks, listen to music by the outdoor bar via mounted bluetooth speakers, this place had everything we wanted and more. Jarrodd and Meaghan were excellent communicators, replied within minutes, and helped set up massages, lobster delivery, additional bottled water for the dispenser. They helped with basically everything we needed without hesitation. I'd say they were possibly the best hosts I've ever had.

Awesome experience!!

This home is absolutely wonderful. The private pool, the beach just a few steps away and close proximity to two sand beaches with great restaurants is more than anyone could ask for. Jerrod and Meaghan are the perfect hosts and were immediately helpful when we needed information or suggestions to restaurants. We had 8 adults in the home and there was plenty of room for everyone to do whatever they wanted. This is a do not miss vacation opportunity!!

Great house with incredible views

My wife, our two children and I, along with another family of four, spent a wonderful week in Castillo Del Mar. The house has a great layout, with plenty of space, both indoor and outside, for our group of eight. The main indoor living space is located on the second floor, overlooking the pool area. It consists of a living room, kitchen and dining. The furnishings are comfortable and well maintained. The kitchen has everything that you would need in terms of utensils, pots, pans, etc. The two bedrooms with king beds are very nice, and each has its own outdoor sitting area. The two bedrooms with twin beds are a bit more basic but work fine for kids. The best thing about this house is the roof deck. Both during the day and in the evening, this was by far the most used area in the house. The views from the roof are spectacular. There is a small white sand beach directly in front of the house which is a good place to snorkel at low tide. The walk to Playa Negra is approximately ten minutes where there is a nice restaurant/bar and great surfing. Jarrod and Meaghan were available, both before and during our trip to answer any questions and set us up with some great catering options and activities. I highly recommend this house and the area as a great get-away for family and friends.

Amazing and relaxing, has everything you need!

The Castillo was amazing. Beautifully updated with a great kitchen and comfortable sleeping. The view was perfect, we were sad to leave the Costa Rican sunsets, watched nightly from the top deck. We brought 3 kids ages from 11 - 22, all three had a great time, swimming in the pool, sunning and exploring. Lots of outside space to relax and enjoy the gorgeous Costa Rican weather. A truly relaxing stress free vacation.

Wildly Sophisticated

Our gang of five loved our week stay at Castillo Del Mar (the name of the home we stayed in) in the village of Playa Negra! Our home was majestic, spacious and comfortable with modern conveniences throughout and close views of the Pacific and coast line. We were a short drive or walk by the healthy to a beach side hotel and charming restaurants and cafes. The French DeVina was amazing! The wildness came from the dirt road we traveled on near Playa Negra. It was safe but rough in spots especially after a hard rain. We thought the "monkey roads" added to the charm and provided some laughs and adventure. They made you feel you were really away. Castillo Del Mar, Playa Negra, and Costa Rica are not to be missed. We'll be back soon!

Fabulous place to relax, enjoy the views

This place is wonderful! There were 7 of us staying for the week, and with the huge roofdeck (great place for dinners & massages), the ocean off the back lawn, and plenty of space around the pool, we never felt crowded. The kitchen upgrade is perfect - we did some group dinners and the island makes it very easy to prepare meals. It was easy walking distance to some restaurants, so that made it nice, too. But the best part is just hanging in the pool, looking at the surf!

Don't think twice, book it!

This is an amazing property, even better than the pictures! There were only four of us on this trip but it could easily accommodate two families. The pool is great because it is partly shaded and accessible from many of the bedrooms and there is a built in bar area. The rooftop deck is incredible! Had massages up there near sunset. Awesome! The rooms all have air conditioners so we were very comfortable. Jarrod and Meaghan are wonderful and were very responsive to anything we needed. An incredible place to vacation! Can't wait to go back.

Castillo del Mar

The house itself is lovely, lots of local flavor. There were 8 of us total and plenty of room. It was a great combo of cozy around the pool, but enough nooks and crannies (read: decks with amazing views) to get some quiet time as well. The house has a lot of amenities to manage the heat (screens, AC, shaded areas), and still has incredible views of the ocean and the mountains behind. Dinner on the roofdeck is not to be missed, and the kitchen was large enough to accommodate our group's shared meals. It is within walking distance of the local small town - check out Cafe Play Negra while you're there - as well as a surfing beach and several other attractions. I would definitely stay here again.

one of our best vacations ever

we don't go back to vacation spots since there are so many other places to travel to but for this home and location we are making an exception. Already have family members lined up for next year. Lovely comfortable well kept house, to-die for balconies and rooftop deck, wondrous views. Engaged the services of the perfect tour agency and did something adventurous every day. Then kicked back at the local beach bar with a drink to watch the surfers ride sunset waves. Think our blood pressure dropped 30 points from being so relaxed and happy.
