Great stay at Sugar Top

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My daughter and I came for the weekend and had a lovely stay. Cody’s communication was great and the rental was exactly as described. We LOVED being in the top floor Everything was clean, comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked with appliances.

Staff at the resort was excellent, communication with the rental company was also excellent. Excellent that it had 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms cot and very comfortable living room. Would definitely stay again. Only recommendations, adding another fan for the summer months, and updating towels.

Great view. Not so great condo.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I have stayed at Sugar Mountain several times but unfortunately this condo is not up to par. The furniture squeaks, and has no padding and you can feel the wood in the arms of the sofas. There are more than 20 flower arrangements on every single shelf every single part of the condo. They were five on top of the TV itself. There are so many knickknacks and decorations that it is impossible to put anything on any shelf. There is even a China cabinet in the tiny dining room with more dried flowers. Who needs a China cabinet on vacation? I was very disappointed as most of the things in this condo. It looked like they were picked up at yard sales. For instance, a picture in the bathroom had been glued back together, and the dried glue was oozing out of the corners of the frame. As always, the cleaning stuff were amazing the condo was very clean other than all of the knickknacks and decorations everywhere which made it impossible to set any of our belongings down anywhere. I’m sure it was a nightmare for them to clean as well. I would not recommend this unit even though it is on the 10th floor and has a fabulous view.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our 5th year in Sugartop. All of the units have had "good" views BUT this one takes the cake! The unit itself had comfortable furniture, nice bathrooms, lots of clothing storage, nice TV's, GREAT internet and a good kitchen layout with ample storage. The building has great amenities with the pool, hot tubs, and steam room downstairs. Lots of wheeled carts for unloading your car and/or bringing up groceries... (ie:no waiting around for someone to return "the only one"). . The elevators are fast!!! The building staff are friendly and Sugar Mountain Lodging (the host) was always available and assisted us quickly to resolve the few MINOR issues that we had. The building is fairly close (30 minutes or less) to so many things... great restaurants, several public golf course, several wineries, Boone, Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mt... I could go on and on. Overall... a GREAT vacation place!!

The property overall was in good condition although needs some TLC. NO hangers, full of artificial plants, old phonebook guides and magazines and outdated furniture. If you do not care much about it, it is a great place to stay for the price.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was one of the more updated units in the building and it was comfortable to stay in. Unfortunately, there were a number of things that popped up that led us to believe it wasn't cleaned regularly. There was mold growing in the soap dispenser in the master, the counter and a number of glasses were sticky, the master shower drain appear to be partially clogged since it does not drain well.

Outstanding view and resort area. But, weak past that.

A weekend stay planned for three. we were there to review the facility as we consider a purchase there. My wife and I and daughter. My daughter has a severe allergy to cigarette smoke. It is a no smoking unit but the smell of cigarette smoke was obvious when we opened the door. We tried but my daughters eyes were swelling in under an hour. My wife and daughter left and went to a hotel, I spent the night to meet the realtor the next morning. A sleepless night on less than perfect mattress and a strong odor from the pillows and bedcover. I left the next morning and would not go back.

Reviewer Comments: Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and we're pleased with our condo rental. The condo had everything we needed in the kitchen and very comfy furniture throughout. The view from our patio was amazing! It was also very convenient to Boone, Blowing Rock, and Banner Elk. The only downsides were that they were doing construction while we were there and it made unloading and loading our luggage very difficult and time consuming. This was not really fully addressed before we went so it wasn't a pleasant surprise. This would be something for elderly to consider while construction is still going on because it would be impossible for them to load their luggage by themselves with how far you have to walk. The only other downside is that there was a lot of artificial flowers throughout the condo and they had a lot of dust on them. This really bothered our allergies. I know those things gather dust easily and may not be the best choice for a rental.

Short vacation

We had been at Sugar Top around 20 years ago and decided to revisit the area. It was a great decision, as we had a very good time We love the condo and the convenience to local area. We probably won’t wait so long to come back again.

The power went out one night but the generators kept the elevator and hall lights on until power was restored. This is close to Sugar mtn skiing and the rental shops. We will be back!

The one filter l had in place was for a fireplace.Unit wS clean, beds sucked.The fireplace was an electric insert that didn't work. By definition of fireplace has fire not electricity. I felt ripped off, no fie, Don't list it as having a fire place. Fill like l should have gotten a refund just off that.Left a day early, never do that on vacation.

Great location

We had a wonderful time, I was worried about having to use shuttle van but there was no issue at all they were very prompt. It was close to to everything from grocery store to attractions, I had a blast doing the wilderness alpine coaster. I would recommend this place to anyone. The only negative was no vents in bathrooms but alot of places for some reason are like that.
