Sugar top

Great for families , thanks to pool, hot tub and sauna- the amenities were a great enhancement of our skiing trip. In the winter months beyter 4 wheel drive car.

Front desk told us the neighbors are smokers and so if that would bother you, I’d probably pick another room. Other than that, the bed was very comfortable and I enjoyed my stay

Avoid - Do not rent - Heavy Cigarette oder

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Condo was nice with great view.. OMG, the neighbor (who is a full time resident) smoked cigerettes and filled the condo with cigerette oder! This is a known issue with this condo. We had to leave front door open and sliding glass door open to air out the place the whole time we where there. And note it was -13 degrees out. Security even brought up some industrial odor eliminator which was a total failure.. (Please thank security for their attempt). Security also advised that this has been a issue with everyone that stayed in the condo. The owner of the condo attempted to to curb the oder with a electric Odor Eliminators mounted on the wall.. IT DID NOT WORK.. Clothes will have to be dry cleaned when you leave.. Please note, this is not the owners fault, it is a no smoking condo..Very limted suppies in Kitchen, bring trash bags and paper towels. Tubs had hair in them. Pots useless. Most of these placed are the same, I had my own.. Note you CAN NOT PARK at the condo, off site parking and a shuttle takes you back and forth .

WE HAD TO KEEP THE WINDOWS AND PATIO DOOR OPEN THE WHOLE TIME BECAUSE THE SMELL WAS NAUSEATING WITHOUT. THE AIR PURIFIERS BOTH RAN CONTINUOUSLY BUT OFFERED ZERO RELIEF! WE STAYED OUTSIDE THE UNIT EXCEPT AT NIGHT TO SLEEP. WHEN I GOT HOME I HAD TO WASH ALL MY CLOTHES AGAIN BECAUSE THEY SMELLED OF CIGARETTE SMOKE! THE LOCATION, FACILITIES & STAFF WERE GREAT BUT YOU COULD NOT PAY ME TO STAY IN UNIT 2805 EVER AGAIN UNTIL THEY GUT THE PLACE AND RID IT OF THAT AWFUL SMELL! IT’S LITERALLY LIKE SOMEONE SMOKED 2 PACKS A DAY FOR 5 YEARS STRAIGHT IN THERE WITH THE PLACE SHUT UP! I AM NOT EXAGGERATING. I GUARANTEE IF YOU GO IN THERE RIGHT NOW IT WILL REEK!! IT WAS SPOTLESS CLEAN WHEN WE GOT THERE & IT REEKED. WE LEFT IT CLEAN AFTER 4 DAYS & IT STILL REEKED. FIX THAT MESS!! YOU SHOULD BE EMBARRASSED TO RENT IT AS A NON SMOKING ROOM. I’M NOT DEMANDING A REFUND, THOUGH I SHOULD, BUT I PROMISE I WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN & IM TELLING YOU THIS AS AN HONEST REVIEW SO THAT HOPEFULLY IT WILL BE TAKEN AS GOOD ADVISE TO PRESERVE FUTURE BUSINESS! GOD AS MY WITNESS, IT WAS HORRIBLE! PLUS, a keureg coffee maker would’ve been a nice upgrade. They’re $60 at wal mart. Good day.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The view is awesome! The facility is amazing! This condo needs some TLC in the kitchen. Utensils are missing. No pizza cutter and not even a spatula...there is now! Only one regular teaspoon in the silverware tray which makes it hard on grandchildren who want cereal for breakfast. No bowls with lids to put leftover goodies in the fridge for later. So enjoy the view, enjoy the facilities but make sure you pack your kitchen from home.

Nice condo for a week getaway but smoke smell is strong :-(

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Condo has been nicely renovated and has ample space for 4 people for a week. Great view of the "green" ski slopes from the porch. It was nice to have the pool available for the kids to spend some time in before or after dinner. Parking was kind of a pain with the shuttle but manageable. Unfortunately, the condo smelled of smoke. The smell seems to be coming from the neighbors and not the condo itself. There was an air purifier in the living room but it didn't seem to do much. Once we cooked and opened a window a bit the smoke smell seemed to dissipate. If you have asthma this condo may be a problem for you. But to be honest a friend was staying in a different condo in the same building and had the same smoke smell issue. Maybe there is shared venting systems with neighboring units?!? There are a few small things that could be addressed like larger mugs, adding cooking utensils, and a vacuum for longer stays.

Look Somewhere Else!

The smoke is sitting in the carpets from 1979 or God knows when. Horrendous smell! I can't believe there isn't some quality control on who can rent a condo! Also the ad says it's less than half a mile to the slopes and a 10 min walk. Not true! That might be as the crow flies, but it's not walkable at 2-3 miles up the mountain. False advertising!! Inconvenient parking, big sofa stain, bulging area rug to trip over, stained kitchen vinyl flooring, broken drinking glass, rust in the dishwasher, broken toilet paper holder dangling off the wall, constant dripping faucet, no cutting board, sink water doesn't drain well, insufficient main door lock. We booked for 2 nights and left a night early cause of the horrible smoke smell. They have tried to disguise it with some air freshener that sits in the corner, but that'll never work. Am in the process of trying to get a refund. Go somewhere else!

Horrendous! The smoke smell from 1979 is still living in these carpets! I can't believe there's no quality control on what can be rented out. I rented thru Expedia, but passes thru VRBO and then is really a rental company and not a person. I never got the info about how to check-in, so I showed up at the building, but couldn't check in until I went down the mountain to the realtor to get the key. Just an all-around horrible experience. I would never recommend this unit, and can't believe they can charge money for it. So bad we cut our stay short and left a day early.

Overall, we had a great experience. The view was breathtaking and the accommodations were good. The biggest drawback is that THIS IS A SMOKING CONDO. The condo wreaks of cigarette smoke! This should definitely be noted in the description. I hate cigarette smoke. If I would have known, I would have selected another property. To be honest, I feel a little duped. There were other minor inconveniences, but this was definitely the biggest one.

The view was amazing, everyone was incredibly accommodating and the amenities were open and clean.The bad, the unit needs some help. There is a strong smell as soon as you walk in the door. Either the carpet is very old and needs replacement or someone has been smoking in the unit. There is an area rug glued down that has bunched up and is a dangerous tripping hazard. There is a plumbing issue in the master bathroom. Water doesn't drain and you're standing in an inch of water while showering. Luckily there are 2 showers so we used the other one.

Carpet and appliances are original when the condos were built

The carpet was disgusting and is original to when the condos were built the appliances are old as the hills the whole unit needs to be updated I would never rent this unit again and the fees are excessive to go through VRBO I don’t think I’m going to use them again. Three parties charged the owner the condominium association and VRBO and it makes the condos too expensive to rent you all should think about this you are excessively charging your customers I’m not OK with this maybe other people are but I think in general people are not stupid.

A Beautiful Vacation

The lodge we stayed in was absolutely beautiful with a breathtaking view, not to mention it was located perfectly near everything. Sugar Mountain Resort was beautiful and we enjoyed the fun on the mountain. We will definitely be returning to the Sugar Top Lodge.
