Senior trip

Me and my two teenage daughters booked this home. A trip of a lifetime! The view was amazing—the neighborhood felt safe and secure. I loved the gate for the added security. Everything is close-restaurants, beaches, rentals…We loved having our own pool with a view that could compete with any on the island. The communication was great and so friendly. We didn’t want to leave!!! Thank you for sharing your home!!!!

From the minute we walked into this beautiful home, I knew it was going to be a magical plane My two daughters joined my husband and I and the house was perfect for us 4. From waking up with the sun sipping coffee on the lanai, to falling asleep to the crashing waves… our stay was perfect. Tuttle Rock is a private oasis offering peace and tranquility!

Location was key since you can access the water and a fantastic surf break right from the house! Central location but you have to drive everywhere, possible to walk to Magics beach and shopping center but road is busy. Absolutely loved Turtle Rock, we’ll be back!!

55th birthday

What a beautiful location. We spent most mornings watching the sun rise over the southern hill and then watch the surfers. The cottages were perfect for two couples. The home was stocked with everything you could need and then some. The pool was relaxing and clean and you had a view of the surfers and spinner dolphins from the lania. We have stayed on Kona many times at many different places. This is one we would highly recommend to anyone. Almost forgot to mention that stunning sunsets. All interactions with host/property manager were outstanding. Thank you for helping to make my 55th birthday a memorable one.

Heaven on Turtle Tock

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our third time renting the property at Turtle Rock. It is just exquisite. The property literally dangles over the ocean. It is immaculate with every amenity. The waves lull you to sleep and the table on the lanai calls for morning coffee. Unlike many other rentals, this unit is FULLY stocked with all the paper goods you will need - kitchen goods, bathroom supplies and more. The staff at Knutson Real Estate was professional and easy to work with. I could not recommend the unit and the company more!

Turtle Rock

This place has amazing views and easy access to everywhere we needed to go. It was very close to the street so exiting the driveway during traffic times was a little stressful but not too terribly hard. We visited in November and the weather was perfect. Warm in the day and cool enough at night to sleep comfortably. All the windows really helped keep the place cool. From the listing it was impossible to tell what the pool would be like but it was great. It went from about 3ft deep on the street side to about 5.5ft deep on the ocean side. There was plenty of room for me to do some laps even with 4 of us in there. Wasn’t heated but didn’t need to be. I think the only downside to our whole stay was the 7 cameras. 3 faced directly at the pool, 2 faced mostly away but probably also caught the pool and only 2 did not face toward the pool at all. We very much like our privacy so this was extremely off putting. I understand that people can walk right by the house and that could be a safety issue but we felt that exterior cameras would have been sufficient. We never felt like safety was a risk at this location. Even being right by the street it felt secluded with the high walls and gates. The check in walk through was very quick. I was worried it would take a lot of our time but it did not. I’d give this place a 10 out of 10 if not for the cameras.

Favorite moments-the astonishingly starry sky easily viewed from the pool deck and all the restful nights we enjoyed listening to the waves crash into the rocks as we slept, take me back! The location was perfect. We made this home our base as we set out on day trips exploring the whole island during our week long stay. Our adventures included Papakolea Green Sand Beach, Punalu’u Black Sand Beach, Manini’owali Beach, Makalewena Beach, Volcanoes National Park, Mauna Kea, Pu’ukohola Heiau Historical site, Pololu Valley, Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park, a guided hiking tour with Hawaii Forest and Trail and a night manta ray snorkel with Anelakai Adventures. Our favorite meals included crepes at Peaberry & Galatte, dinner at Merriman’s (close to Waimea), and lunch and açaí bowls at Aloha Mix Food Truck in Naalehu. We loved the beauty of the island, and the comfort and luxury of Turtle Rock made this vacation a trip of a lifetime.

From the moment you pull into the private drive and hear the sound of waves, you know you have arrived at a special place. Upon entering the main house, the view explodes before you — open seas and waves crashing on black rocks — the scenery of surfers and black sand beaches tucked around tide pools to the south. The main house is graciously appointed with modern amenities in the kitchen and primary suite. Perfect size home for small groups with ample room to stretch-out in the open floorplan. Guesthouse is ideal for a second couple or two kids. And the blue-tiled pool, outdoor shower and inviting decks and patios invite socializing or just quiet contemplation. We love this Kona hideaway. Can’t wait to return to Paradise Found!

EPIC.

Waves splashing all around you, the amazing sounds of crashing waves while sleeping, whale/dolphin/eel/fish watching off your deck, Sonos wireless system, an amazing pool with a fridge full of champagne and bathrooms nearby. We NEVER left Turtle Rock with teh excpetion of refilling the fridge. The other great call we made was to have Chef Krista feed us....she was the BEST! Do yourself a favor when you need some R&R and book this place, Sure, so of the things others note is true, you can hear cars as you are righht on a road but it never bothered us. Yes, most places in Hawaii that aren't fancy smancy resorts don't have air conditioning but that's okay by me. Only tip is the entire island seemed to be closed on New Year's Day when we arrived....just keep that in mind. The property management company was on top of things as well. Kudos to all at Turtle Rock, we look forward to our next trip to this fantastic property.

Go all out and stay here.

This trip was a celebration for our family and it was AWESOME! I've stayed at a few places on Ali'i drive, and none come close to this location. Tucked in the perfect, and I mean perfect, location, we didn't want to leave the house. It's appointed perfectly and well-designed for privacy between the house and the guest bedroom. We surfed right there, snorkeled in the bay, and ran. We always looked forward to our afternoons hanging out at the house and cooling off in the pool. We also encountered a storm while there and it was epic to have a front-row seat! The landlord was very helpful and attentive as well.

Amazing Place

No mistake that this is a great property. Close to town and amazing snorkeling cove is just 100 yards down the road. The property is very well kept and the management team was very helpful. Nice touch of providing some Kona coffee at check in. Feels very private even though it is close to a main road. Note this place does not have air conditioning but during our stay at the end of June we didn’t need it. Honestly if you get hot just jump into your private pool! The pictures are accurate to the views. We enjoyed watching the morning surfers every day. This place was unreal. You won’t be disappointed.
