We first fell in love with Antigua many years ago and eventually decided that we wanted a home here rather than simply somewhere to visit.
What attracted us to this villa was its position directly on the water in Jolly Harbour. We loved the space, the character of the house and, particularly, being able to step outside onto our own dock and simply sit beside the marina.
Over time we have extensively refurbished and updated the villa, choosing it as we would our own home rather than furnishing it simply as a rental property. We wanted to retain its Caribbean character — the timber ceilings, verandas and waterfront setting — while making it comfortable, relaxed and somewhere we genuinely enjoy spending time ourselves.
Some of our favourite moments are actually the simplest ones: breakfast outside in the morning, watching the boats from the upstairs balcony, an afternoon at the beach, or sitting by the water with a drink as the evening draws in.
We continue to spend time at the villa ourselves, and when we're not there we're delighted to share it with guests. We hope it feels less like staying in a holiday rental and more like having your own home on the water in Antigua.
