Great stay!

House was perfect, great location for short bike ride to beach. 2 great pools for a change from beach. Staff was super friendly and helpful with booking and arrival. Definitely recommend and plan to stay here again.

The property need some upkeep and maintenance in the entire neighborhood. The pool snd pool area were not clean. The bathroom doors locked and there was no key. The internet was spotty.

Great pet friendly stay

Our family of 5 plus a dog had plenty of space and were able to experience all of the fun of Gulf Shores with a quiet place to retreat at the end of the day. My kids loved to pool and the bedrooms.

Really nice area. Plenty of room for all of us to sleep. We were 7 total.

This place had plenty of room and the appliances worked great. The beach would be a lengthy walk but its only a couple minutes drive and not crowded at all. We loved this area.

Fun Memorial Day Weekend

The family had a great time. It takes a little logistics to move everyone to the beach, but we knew that going in. The house is very cozy and well equipped.

Beautiful neighborhood

The neighborhood is beautiful with very friendly people. Nearby beach access is wonderful with great sand bars. One downside for us was that the internet is spotty in the area.

Marsha, Thank you for your great review, despite the issues we encountered with the internet during your stay. The few weeks around your visit, we had several of our guests without internet. We spent lots of time scheduling technicians through the internet provider for several of the properties we manage in the Fort Morgan area. As it turned out, they had an area wide outage that affected most of the Fort Morgan peninsula. This outage caused cell phone signals to be spotty and internet was scarce. We are so sorry this happened during your trip and hope you understand these matters are beyond our control. Since your departure, the internet has had no issues and all is well. Gulf Shores Cottage

Very nice place, we were there after Thanksgiving so none else was near us. Is an about 15 miles from where most restaurants and other activities. That didn’t really bother us.

Overall very good

We enjoyed our stay, the floors weren’t very clean on our arrival, you could feel the grime on the floor, probably from sand. But over all very good, spacious enough for 5 adults, 3 children and a dog! Short drive to the beach, the pool was nice and the property was very well kept.

Nice stay

Luna properties was very responsive when I had questions. Only drawback was the sandflies. We couldn’t be out on even the screen porch because they were so bad.

Family Weekend Getaway

Very nice, clean, and comfortable place. I would recommend for a quick weekend getaway. Only thing I didn’t like was that the beach was not across the street.....there were trees. You actually had to drive like a 1 mile down the rd to get to the beach access. Overall though, very very nice.

The beach access, although easy to get to, is not walkable in our opinion due to the terrain. This property is located in a wildlife refuge and the landscaping was left natural and lush on purpose so no trails take you straight to the beach access. Instead you must stay on the provided roads which makes it a longer path to access the beach. We do advise all of our guests to plan to drive to the beach and parking is offered at the public beach lot that is clearly marked for public parking. Place was beautiful and clean. Two items that could be added would be a outside hose to be able to wash off sand coming from the beach (lock is on spicket) & a bissell push vacuum for Inside floors to use through week.

The house was very nice and accommodations were comfortable. If I had one critique it would be that there lacked many kitchen items such as a pizza cutter. The a/c was very temperamental as well and at one point just shut off for no reason then turned back on the next morning. Overall great value for the money.

Not real sure what you were expecting, however the photos are not enhanced or filtered. You are also correct about limited parking as these units now require parking passes and also limit you to 2 vehicles per cottage. Nice place far away from everything

The inside of the property was renovated and looked very nice. It could have been cleaner. Someone with a dog must have stayed in the cottage before we did because we found dog hair in the corners of the room. The appliances were great. The cottage was not equipped for families because there were only wine glasses available. A few regular tumblers made of something less breakable would be nice. The cottage was far away from everything. You have to drive for at least 25 minutes to get to a store that does not charge an arm and a leg. The beach was close but you could not walk to it if you had kids and beach gear. There was public parking close but there were only about ten or so parking spots. The pools on the property were nice.

Nice place, great location

This cottage is in a great location relative to the beach, shopping etc and the building itself is set up pretty well. Pros: location, beds were comfortable, pools were easily accessible and the perfect temperature, the screened porch was great for the evenings. The property management company is really helpful!! Cons: the unit says it accommodates up to 10 people, but the dining area, living area, and porch only really accommodate 6 comfortably. You get a parking pass for 1 vehicle. You must BUY a second parking pass, which seems ridiculous when you are paying to rent someplace. The kitchen was missing a lot of things such as a broom (for all the sand!) and basics like more than 1 dish towel. And there were no rugs anywhere to help control the sand (or bath mats).

Would rent again

Thank you for being pet-friendly! The house is lovely. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of cookware available. We were able to have breakfast and dinner at the house every day. That’s such a help on the budget! And the layout is so good. There was just my husband and I, two kids, and two dogs so we didn’t even use one of the bedrooms! We just shut the doors and left it alone. The beach is a bit farther away than it seems on the site. Roughly a mile or just a little more, which isn’t horrible, but definitely far enough you have to drive when you have a small child with you. We were disappointed with the pool situation. It is not heated and the weather was cool, so we weren’t able to use it. There’s also no hot tub available as pictured. Again a bummer, but note a deal breaker. Overall it was a good stay in a nice house!

Great location/Great main pool, no wifi

The location and facilities were really great! Dog friendly area and it was really nice to be able to walk the dogs on the beach near the house. The large main pool area was great also. It was very relaxing and very clean. Our only issues were there was no wifi at all during our stay and sand flies made it impossible to walk the dogs from the house. Leaving the house to walk down the road they would swarm us and bite/sting. That part was aweful. We ended up driving to the pool to avoid them and driving the dogs to the beach for walks. The flies were not a problem by the pool or the beach. We were told someone was scheduled to come out to work on the wifi the day we were leaving. I hope they were able to get it fixed for the next group to stay there, although we did notice this seemed to be an issue often mentioned in the reviews. The sandflies are apparently a seasonal issue and of course beyond their control. We were able to use the screened porch area without being bothered by them. This place would be an excellent place to stay when the sand flies are not an issue.

We are so glad that despite the flies, you were able to have an enjoyable stay. These cottages are in the middle of the wildlife refuge with very lush and natural landscaping. This can be a problem with flies, mosquitos and other biting insects during the warm months for sure. Although the complex does plenty of maintenance to keep the critters under control, the waters surrounding the Fort Morgan peninsula is quite the breeding ground for insects. As for the internet/WIFI, when we were notified of the issue with you connecting, we immediately contacted the service provider to troubleshoot and schedule a technician if necessary. Appointments with this service provider are never quick and easy. Unfortunately it was the week after your departure before we could get someone out there to repair the issue. This complex is in the process of changing over to a bulk account where the internet services will be provided through the association and will include high speed, fiber internet. We expect the issues with each individual cottage connection to be minimal once all is installed and everyone is connected. This project will be done within the next few weeks. Vacation 2022

My family of 10 stayed here this past July. Overall we had a very nice stay. Check in was a bit rough as the find my location App gave us the wrong address and we were stuck outside at 5a.m. for over a hour trying to get ahold of someone. The emergency text line does not work apparently. Finally after going through all of my previous emails I found the correct address. A few things to note if you have a large family that plans on staying. Bring plasticware as there is not enough silverware for a family of 10. Also pick up some bleach or cleaning spray as the cleaners they use do a sufficient job, but not to my standards. The master bath shower curtain was full of mold and taped together. The couch in the living room was full of stains. We threw a blanket over it and that worked out fine. And the table on the screened in porch was almost black with dirt. A bit of cleaner and some scrubbing and it cleaned up pretty well although I feel like I shouldn't have had to do that on vacation. The master bed was clean and super comfortable. And the bedroom with the twin beds worked out well for all 4 of my teenage girls. Location to the beach was great! It's pretty far away from any touristy areas so if you like quiet this would be good. I did like that it sat on a corner very close to the nature preserve with a good view instead of having to look at other houses. Overall my family had a good time.

Lindsey, We are terribly sorry you had issues locating this cottage. We send out arrival details by email that give you all directions to the property as well as a physical address to the specific cottage. When I spoke to your husband over the phone at 6:30am, he told me you were looking at the address as the cottage number and you were at the incorrect cottage attempting to use the code for entry. Thankfully that property was vacant at the time or that would've been a whole different set of issues. Needless to say, we are glad you were able to access the correct cottage. As for the cleaning issues, we would've happily had any issues addressed for you had we known, as we agree no one should clean while on vacation. Roaches on Premises / Parking Spaces / Screen-in Porch Dirty

On arrvial to our cottage location. The parking lot in front of our cottage was fully occupied with other vehicles up until the evening of recieving your call. There was a area that appeared to be a parking space on the side of our cottage so we assumed that it was our designed parking space because all of the other spaces were occupied by other vehicles leaving us no other parking options other than were we parked. We was unaware that it was not our designated parking spot! We was not aware that our designed parking space was right in front of our cottage until receiving a call from your front office annoucancing we had been fine for parking in the wrong area. We believe this is a unjust fine because apparently there were no parking enforcement to ensure that all guest parked in the corrected designed spaces. I requested to speak the boss but have yet to hear from anyone concerning this matter. Our water was shut off for maintance without notice for serveral hours. The screen in porch was dirty with dog food and spilled stains. We clean it up however, house cleaning showed up after we clean the area. We killed several roaches in the kids bunk room. Recommendation: Issue parking permits that can be visable in vehicle windshield to ensure that all guest are parked only in their deginated parking spaces. Mangement have yet to commcate with me directly concerning the parking fine that I believe to be unjust.

We are very saddened by your experience you share of your stay with us in this great property. The parking pass information is clearly explained in the arrival information provided to each guest prior to their arrival. We are terribly sorry that your designated space was taken upon arrival. Had you reached out to us and let us know someone was in your designated space, we could've helped to remedy the situation, but instead you chose to park on the grass, which is strictly prohibited and mentioned in the arrival details as well. Once fines are issued, they are not removed and the guest is responsible for paying the fine. This information is also mentioned in the parking details of the arrival information. Speaking to management would not change anything as it is not a rule we can overturn. The rules are created by the association of the complex and once the fines are imposed, it is out of our hands. It is an unfortunate situation and one we are extremely apologetic for, however we must enforce. As for the cottage and the items you are mentioning in this review, we would've happily assisted you with any issues you encountered had we known of them during your stay. We cannot assist if these matters are not brought to our attention. We do hope that despite the parking issue and other items you mentioned, you were able to enjoy the beautiful beaches and wonderful restaurants this great area offers. Disappointing stay

Prior to arrival we were contacted about pet fees and parking, which we thought was already covered in fees paid prior which we were not given breakdown of in initial quote. Upon arrival, there were several noted issues. Kitchen: drawer pull was missing on utensils drawer and only 5 forks, rest of utensils were plentiful. There was a major lack of cups/glasses- many coffee mugs, wine glasses, ice cream cups, etc. but no regular glasses for a family There was no dish detergent in the unit nor any srubbbing brush to clean pans etc that could not be put in the dishwasher. Flooring: there were gaps in the flooring in many doorways and in front of tubs/showers. Bathrooms: guest bath had NO shower liner, only the cloth one so all water spilled into the floor. Main bath: the shower curtain that was there was torn and missing several curtain hooks as well. We had an issue with a smoke alarm on Sunday and given the holiday weekend, it took a few hours to get a replacement battery which is understandable. On Tuesday morning, we were contacted by the management office about a contractor coming out to measure for new flooring, which we had to adjust our schedules due to the dogs in the home and not comfortable letting someone in without one of us present.. This delayed family morning outings by more than an hour that were planned (were only given 15-20 min notice that they were coming). On Thursday morning we were woken to the sounds of drills and screws on the roof. We immediately emailed and called the management office and were told at first there was no knowledge of this. A follow up call was made to us to convey they had overlooked an email from a week prior that this was scheduled. The work went on till way iinto the afternoon, causing again issues with schedules and with dogs as well. We were offered 1 $25 gift card for a family of 6 for "waking us up early" and this was not even delivered until after 5 pm after we had left for dinner and could not be used until the last day of our trip. We ventured out the next day to use the minigolf/ice cream shop portion of the gift card only to find out the ice cream shop was closed. It was disappointing to only be offered that small sum for a family of 6 given the accomodations we had made in our schedulles multiple times for things we should have been alerted to prior to our trip . These could have been handled on nonoccupied days. Overall disappointing trip.

Byron, We are terribly sorry about all the confusion regarding the pet fees. These cottages have not always been pet friendly so it has been quite a chore getting the third party booking sites on board with adding the pet fees to each booking. As for the measuring of the floors, you could've declined entry to the unit during your stay had you expressed to us this was an issue. These cottages rent by the week in the summer with all arrival and departure being on Saturday. Most contractors and crews will not work on Saturday so it is up to us to try and get necessary maintenance done when we can. We understand it was an inconvenience and we are very sorry for not being able to let you know of the roof repair any sooner than we did. They were doing work that still needed to be done from Hurricane Sally damages and this was something we had to postpone many times. We hate that it interrupted your dogs and caused them to bark, however they were not there to work wee hours of the morning nor were they there late at night. The gift card was simply a "Thank you" for being so kind in allowing these things to take place during your stay, not a compensation for a family of 6. We are terribly sorry you had such a disappointing stay but truly hope you found the beach and pools at this complex to be a refuge away from the situations you had to endure at the unit. Quiet and away from the crowds

We drove in from out of state, arriving around 8pm., after sunset. Upon arriving at the unit, we were surprised to find that it is located right next to the main road leading out to Fort Morgan, which is a 55mph road. At night, it was relatively quiet, but during the day, we couldn't sit outside on the enclosed porch due to the noise of the cars driving by. Entering the house, it was exactly as the picture shows, but the photos must have been taken when it was new and in mint condition. Now, the furniture is in "ok" shape, with some stains and obvious wear and tear of a rental property. The mattresses have deep impressions, but were relatively comfortable. The kitchen, while well equipped, needs some new skillets as the ones provided had burn/scorch marks and were unusable. The kitchen did have a toaster, Keurig and regular coffee maker, blender, garbage disposal, dishwasher. We did not use the in unit washer and dryer but appreciate that detergent was provided. There were plenty of clean towels provided, both in the bathrooms and the kitchen. The TV had cable and plenty of stations available, although if you want to use your own Netflix account, you can't because it requires access to the password for their Dish account. There are two pools in the complex, find the larger one at the back. Very nice with plenty of chairs, restrooms, etc. The last thing to mention is that when we woke up the first morning after arriving the prior evening after dark, and I looked a bit closer at the house, it was not very clean. There were cobwebs in the corners of the ceilings and dirt in the corner of all the baseboards and floors. I do have photos if the mgmt company is interested in seeing them. The unit could use a coat of paint, as the walls have many scuffs and scrapes. Lastly, please include the code to the keybox on the porch on our check out instructions. I had to contact someone, who rather rudely told me to "check my email". I installed the app at the suggestion of the mgmt company when I booked the property so that is where I got the info for check in, which was no longer available to me on the day of checkout. Only the check OUT instructions, which did not include the code.

Nice location with close beach access. The management is very responsive to calls and emails if there is anything you need to discuss with them! My family will be keeping this location saved for future visits.
