Julie, I am sorry you experienced a mouse, it does happen sometimes in the country and I have told the exterminator we need to revisit because it is not normal and should not have occurred. Perhaps your friend who rented the house did not share the house notes with you that clearly mention that renters unfortunately need to remove trash because we have no town services and you would be unable to access the transfer station to drop it off locally. On the food topic, I do have my cleaners leave convenient food items for travelers as many arrive late and stores are not near. This means condiments and non perishables are left but only unopened liquids are kept if they are within date ranges. Again, sorry you did not enjoy your stay and I will make sure to address the mouse issue ASAP. Tom

Jessica, thanks for the honest review. We are constantly updating the house and are just weeks away from remodeling the entire bathroom (fingers crossed). The fridge is an issue and while it is only 1 year old it leaks and has damaged the floors so we are looking for replacements that will fit. I’m glad you enjoyed the view and fire pit during your stay and hope you will return and see our progress. Thanks again. - T

Tim, Thanks for the feedback. the house is 100 years old and I am bringing it up to date as we speak. New heating system goes in next spring (not able to complete in time for this season) and bathroom is first on the list for 2024. Please come back next year and see how it changes.
