Comfort and Ambiance

Nestle into the tree tops in this beautiful cabin, offering ambiance and comfort to perfect your Blue Ridge vacation. This centrally-located home has three wide, covered decks for enjoying the great outdoors, as well as upscale features inside and plenty of beds and bathrooms.

Being in the mountains means convening with nature, whether you're gathered around the fire pit, dining al fresco, or just chilling on the porch with a good book. Do it all here at Hibernation Station, while enjoying the convenience of a beautifully-equipped home to call your own.

Entering the main level, you'll find a spacious open floor plan, with a comfortable living area including a TV and inviting stone fireplace. Just flip the switch for ambiance! The dining area is adjacent, with a table for 8 and extra seating at the wide kitchen island. The lovely, updated kitchen has granite countertops, stainless appliances (including a dishwasher) and is well-stocked with all the kitchenware and supplies you'll need for entertaining and family meals. These areas are surrounded by decking, so you're never more than a few steps from that outdoor living you've been looking forward to.

The master bedroom is another great feature on the main level, with a comfy king-size bed and private bathroom. The master bath features a dual vanity, large whirlpool tub and separate walk-in-shower. Step straight out onto the deck from the master, to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning, or a late-night toddy. There's an additional half bath on the main level as well.

Upstairs find two additional bedrooms, each furnished with three beds, for a total of four twin beds, one queen and one king upstairs, with a large bathroom to share. But that's not all! The third level downstairs has a game room with a pool table, an additional full bath, and direct access to the lower-level deck.

Location, Location, Location

Hibernation Station is centrally located just off 221. From this home base you can easily enjoy a huge variety of attractions and outdoor recreation. Downtown West Jefferson is only 10-12 minutes away, with restaurants and terrific shopping, including antique stores, art galleries and wine tasting. This is small-town Americana at its finest. Exploring Main Street, you'll feel like you've stepped back in time. Here you'll find the famous Ashe Co. Cheese Factory, with an old-fashioned country store. There's Craft Bistro for fine dining, two breweries and even two movie theaters!

Drive a little further to Boone or Blowing Rock, for an even wider assortment of dining, entertainment and shopping options. Tour the campus of Appalachian State University, or visit our craft breweries. And remember that here in Blue Ridge Country, the journey is as satisfying as the destination, with gorgeous scenery at every turn.

In spring or summer, the New River offers tubing, kayaking, canoeing and fishing. Warmer months are also a perfect time for horseback riding, and sightseeing or bicycling along the Blue Ridge Parkway. In the winter enjoy skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing or ice skating at one of the many area resorts. West Jefferson also has one of the region's most scenic and well-maintained public golf courses, Mountain Aire.
