This historic Dutch Colonial summer home has been in our family for over 95 years and offers plenty of room for everyone to gather while still having space to spread out.

We had a great stay. The only thing is that this listing states there are four bathrooms. In actuality there are three in the house and then one outside so to say it is a six bedroom, four bathroom house is a bit misleading.

We loved the home and the yard and the location right near Flos clam shack and clementines ice cream! The house was well equipped and the owners were very nice. It was all we were hoping for and would recommend to others:) it was a great stay.

Beautiful property in a great location! We all got our own comfortable bed and there was room for everyone at the dinner table and/or watching TV and relaxing. Our group of friends travel every year someplace new and this was one for the books! From the restaurants, spa, mansion tours to the winery and cliff walk - everything was amazing!!!

Spring in Newport

We had a wonderful stay at Hedgegate and very much enjoyed the location and comfort of this historical home. Plenty of room for us and the great dining table and kitchen area was a favorite gathering spot. Look forward to coming back!

Great Newport Getaway

We had an amazing time at the house - great kitchen and huge dining room area which is perfect for a large group. The lawn area is also amazing! House is right on the street which can be a little loud at night, but it's a great spot to get anywhere in Newport!

Perfect family weekend!

What a beautiful place! The location was perfect! The house was lovely with stunning outdoor space. Everything you wanted or needed for a family wedding weekend. We are hoping to get back there soon to enjoy the Middletown/Newport area.

Wonderful rental

We had a great time renting this home. It was convenient to walk to the beach, coffee shop, restaurants and convenient store. We loved the wrap around porch and open concept floor plan. All in all I would highly recommend.

Wonderful stay

Wonderful home and spacious outdoor space. There were 10 of us with 4 being small children The outdoor space was fantastic for the children to play and the location is fabulous and close to the beach and restaurants and Clementines ice cream is right across the street which was a big hit! The home is well stocked with more than enough towels and blankets. Big dining room and table which was perfect for our big group. We had a great stay and hope to stay again

Great location

Our family of 13 stayed here for my son's wedding. It is in a great location and it was walking distance to the venue. The wrap around porch was SO nice to sit on in the morning enjoying your coffee. The interior was up to date and nicely decorated. The hosts were easy to get in touch with if needed.

Girls Weekend!

Such a PERFECT getaway - everyone was obsessed with the house/property. So much room, GIANT deck and GIANT yard, makes for an amazing summer weekend away. The owner and his family were close by and so friendly and on top of things! We even got to meet some of his extended family which was so sweet.

Beautiful, picturesque home!

The house is in a great location, just a short walk to the beach and about a mile from downtown Newport. It’s also recently renovated and beautiful inside! The owner, Jim, was great to work with and responded promptly to all my emails. Highly recommend

This amazing home has been in our family for 95 years. Purchased by our grandfather in 1930 as a summer family retreat, for the past 95 years multiple generations of our family have entertained friends with sumptuous barbecues, delicious Italian dishes and fine wines. Throughout the year our extended family gathers to eat, drink, laugh, enjoy each others company and eat some more. To quote my friend Lidia "Tutti a tavola a mangiare", everyone to the table to eat. Reserve Hedgegate today and your family and friends will make memories that will last a lifetime.
