Built in 1936 and thoughtfully remodeled over time to retain the original historic charm, this quaint, 2 story beach cottage welcomes you with whimsical art glass and fun touches. Abalone Beach Cottage offers a comfortable floor plan that sleeps up to 6 guests, with 4 bedrooms and 1.5 baths providing the ultimate in peace and relaxation. You will love the dramatic beach and ocean views. Open the windows, hear the waves and sleep to the rhythmic sound of the surf. Whether watching whales or waves, sunrises or our famous Oregon coast storms, this home is perfect for a family vacation or a romantic getaway.

Provided for your enjoyment are Flat screen smart TV's where you can access apps such as netflix and hulu- bring your passwords! Also, DVD players, a stereo system, games, puzzles, DVDs, a gas grill and more.

Sleeps up to 6 - 4 Bedrooms, 3 Queens, 1 Full, 1 Queen Futon, 1.5 baths.
Vehicles: Licensed for 2 (Strictly enforced- No street parking allowed)
Standard: 2 night minimum; Summer & Holidays: 3-4 night minimum.

Nice spot

We like this property, its access to the beach and huge yard are a plus. It’s really roomy with comfortable beds. The hot tub and ping pong table were enjoyable

Spacious and wonderful view of the ocean.

Great place for a girls trip, 4 bedrooms meant we weren't tripping over each other. Will come here again!

Great little beach house

Great place!

Stayed here for a girls weekend getaway. Lots of space for all of us! Wish we found the game room the first night we were there. Short distance to the beach. Love the rooftop dining area and hot tub! Definitely would come back!

We thought the house very quaint. The bonus large yard was a nice surprise. The decorations of all the beach pictures and extras were lovely. We enjoyed the ocean views, especially in the upstairs bedroom. Definitely would book this property again.

Beautiful, whimsically decorated, well-equipped home.

Loved the mermaid theme that ran throughout the property. Our stay lacked for nothing except for a full propane tank, and the property managers would've taken care of that for us if we'd stayed any longer.

Wonderful Vacation Cottage

We had a fabulous time at the Abalone Beach Cottage, I was extremely happy with the amenities, the cottage is adorable and very clean, the kitchen is well equipped, the appliances are very nice and up to date, we used the BBQ grill and kites in the garage. I loved that the beach is so close and easy to access. I am very impressed with the ease of reserving, renting, checking in to and leaving the cottage, very friendly owners. We will be back next year!

Fantastic!!

We have been staying at this beach cottage for several years now and its always a great get away place for us to stay. The owners are friendly to deal with and they have been making nice upgrades to the home every year. The home is about half way between Yachats and Waldport (about 4 miles each direction) and is a perfect location if you want to visit each of the towns with a short drive.

Not clean for a $200 cleaning fee

I wanton happy with the cleanliness. There was dog hair on the sofas and floor. Dust and sand still around. Some dishes, pots, and utensils needed to be washed before use. The road was horrible, lucky we brought the truck. The home looked better in the pictures. With that aside, the view was nice and walking distance.

Wonderful Location

Perfect location outside of town, quiet neighborhood. Easy beach access for able body (steep short hill, but 71 year old grandma did okay). Hot tub was nice way to end every day. Location was close to both Newport and Florence (half hour either direction) with the little town of Yahats only a few minutes away. Two 11 year olds enjoyed ping pong and the beach every day. For five people this was perfect.

Cozy home with partial view

Close to the beach with access. Good view even though row of homes in front. Unique layout. Small kitchen but it worked. Comfortable. Loved the hot tub, game area in garage, and big yard.

Peaceful and inviting

When we arrived the home was ready, lights were turned on and it had a welcoming feel to it. It was peaceful and clean. The proximity to the beach was spectacular and so fun for my children even though it was super cold. There were plenty of dishes for our meals. Beds were comfortable and we loved the theme of the home. We had a spectacular time over our holiday and the home really met and exceeded our expectations. Thanks!

Lovely Retreat

This home is located nearly next to the beach in a quiet neighborhood. It is well equipped with kitchen supplies. A great place for a family gathering. The home has great WiFi, but the location has limited cell service. There is cable TV, but we couldn't get the Oregon Ducks game. Being from Florida, we aren't clear on the cable issues regarding local teams. We would definitely rent again.

Funky beach house

Pluses: We loved the decor, the view, and the hot tub. Communication with the rental company was wonderful. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking! Minuses: two of the bedroom “doors” were made of shower curtains, so if you’re looking for privacy or ensured quiet for kids be aware. Two of the four burners on the stove did not work (you could warm your hands on the coils after five minutes, but certainly couldn’t cook on them).

Quaint place

3 couples stayed here for a week. There were a few room options to choose from. Most of which did not have doors but only Curtains for privacy. Although rather small and quirky, The cottage was comfortable enough and had some fun amenities like a hot tub, and game room with ping pong table, and corn hole. Chairs and a kite for the beach was also available which was nice. It worked out to be close to a cottage our other family members were renting which was a bonus. It was mentioned several times that the bathroom wall decor was not in the best of taste. We felt our host was attentive. We enjoyed our stay.

Just perfect! Great location. Cute and funky cottage.

We had a lovely time. The house was well stocked and had plenty of space. Wonderful views and lots of Oregon coast charm. Host was responsive and flexible. We enjoyed every minute. The stairs to the upstairs bedrooms are super steep and narrow, which was fine for us (and to be expected in an old house) but might not be ideal for someone frail or for tiny kids. There are two bedrooms downstairs, though, so that works. All in all, just exactly right for a weekend away! A charm you couldn't get in a newer house and a really great value to boot! We will be back.

Girls weekend

Stayed here for a girls weekend. Pros the location is very close to the beach, beautiful views multiple rooms, lots of places to sleep, 5 min drive to Yachats. The hot tub was very nice and private. Cons would be one very hard bed upstairs, stove range did not work very well (front burner stopped in the middle of me cooking on it), made it challenging to cook overall as it was an older electric stove. The house has two toilets, but only one of the bathrooms has a place to shower or bath which might be challenging for some with a larger group. We made it work. None of these cons would be a deal breaker for me to not use this property again, just things to consider depending on your needs.

Great Beach Getaway

If you're looking for a sleek, modern, minimalist beach house....keep looking. This house is classic Oregon coast. It is steps from the beach, with ocean views from the couches or kitchen. We used the beds downstairs which were very comfortable. The wifi was blazing fast which really surprised me, as I had a couple of work emails and documents to work on. Keep in mind that the house is old, but well appointed. Houses of this vintage have creaks and cracks. It is part of the charm. We will come back for several reasons, but the biggest is actual, real proximity to a white sandy beach. It is a 2 minute walk if you take the safe route down the county maintained, graveled ramp. Or a one minute walk should you choose to hobble down a few small boulders at the cliff. This is a nice spot. We'll be back.
