You will love your stay at the Blue Gem! This bright and artsy home is in Chattanooga’s oldest and most historic suburb, St. Elmo. A quick drive up Lookout Mountain to Rock City and Ruby Falls and 2 miles to Downtown Chattanooga! We are located right on the Greenway where neighbors walk their dogs, bike, and say hello. There is a brand new playground within walking distance!
The home is full of original art, right down to the hand welded staircase. Perfect for porch sitting and family gatherings, our *gem* of a home will delight you!

The St Elmo Park is two blocks away and you can walk or ride a bike St Elmo's down town ( on the new pedestrian/ bike lane, right outside the homes doorstep). Where you have abundant local eateries or could catch a ride up Lookout Mt on The Incline Railway. Get Ice cream at MsTs or continue to down town Chattanooga on the River Front parkway.
( Down Town is 2-3 mile away or a 5 min. drive.)
The home is super close to all the do do Chattanooga activities. Ruby Falls, Rock City are a short drive up the Mt.
There are plenty of beautiful hiking trail heads within blocks of the home

The house was roomy enough for us. The place was clean. They had adequate supplies in both the kitchen and bathrooms. Lots of games. The house was so close to everything we wanted to visit. It’s worth the stay.

This house has a great location for anyone coming to Chattanooga. in the shadow of Lookout Mountain, it is only minutes to the attractions there. the Drive into downtown is also straight forward and easy to do. The St. Elmo Neighborhood is quiet and friendly - with many nice places to eat close by. The house is very clean and well appointed. The loft area was a big hit with our youngest child, who claimed it when we booked stay. 100% recommend for your next Chattanooga adventure.

What a gem!! While we loved exploring the mountain, coming "home" to this adorable house really sealed the deal on our visit to Chattanooga. Just minutes away from Ruby Falls, Rock City and the Incline Railroad. We couldn't have asked for a better location. Also, if adventure is your jam, trailhead to Glenn Fallls is 2 minutes away. Don't skip the trek up the mountain. It's worth it!

Great place to have a sibling weekend! Used the backyard a lot in the evenings, quiet and nice seating area. Location was great for many of the attractions we visited.

Seven adults fit fairly well in this cottage, although I would recommend loft area for younger people. Overall the place is well designed and aesthetically pleasing. There was a comfortable area in back that worked well for a family lunch after graduation ceremony.

I was amazed at the renovation of this older property. They did a great job of giving it a modern look and feel throughout. The kitchen was well furnished as was the rest of the home. I also liked the local area. The management did a great job of ensuring that we would have a pleasant stay.

We had a fantastic time! The art deco vibe throughout the home is gorgeous, and the outdoor fire area was a highlight, super convenient to have the propane tanks ready for us. The home very very clean and welcoming. Great location so close to Rock City & Ruby Falls. The kids also loved the cute loft with the unique spiral staircase, though the small attic doors up there were a bit "creepy" for them (one slept on the couch instead!). Adding locks to those doors would be a perfect fix. Otherwise, an amazing stay and we’d definitely return and recommend to anyone checking it out!

We really loved staying at the Blue Gem in St. Elmo. The common space was comfortable and worked well for our family and the kitchen was well equipped. The two downstairs bedrooms were very comfortable and reasonably sized but the loft is a really tight space for adults. If you’re traveling with kids the loft would be a great sleeping space. St. Elmo is very cozy and we loved the historic neighborhood as well as the close proximity to Lookout Mountain, restaurants and the Food City. And it’s a really easy trip to downtown as well. I’d definitely recommend the stay.

Our own neighborhood pub, Moccasin Bend Brewing Company, where you can meet the locals or take home a growler (you can also bring your dogs). Visit Mojo Burrito, delicious food in a hip environment, 1885 Restaurant for a more upscale dining experience, don't miss out on their incredible fresh water trout blackened or grilled, or St. Elmo's own Purple Daisy and dine on a BBQ sandwich. St. Elmo Deli will provide you with the perfect lunch on the run. Don't forget Mr.T's Pizza and hand scooped ice cream that has been in the neighborhood for over 20 years!!!! The choices are endless!

See seven states from Rock City, visit the nation's largest and deepest underground waterfall at Ruby Falls, take a short ride on the Incline Railway to ascend and descend Lookout Mt, where you have access to amazing views from the top of Lookout Mountain from Point Park, or visit Sunset Rock. We are a mere 5 miles from downtown Chattanooga. Enjoy the river front at Ross's landing on the banks of the Tennessee River, visit the Tennessee Aquarium, and walk right down Broad St and enjoy a Moon Pie! How would you like to see the Hunter Museum or take a walk across the nation's longest pedestrian bridge to Coolidge park in North Chattanooga?
