Jane’s Creek Cottage is an ideal choice for guests seeking a peaceful retreat while exploring the Redwoods or visiting Cal Poly Humboldt. Families visiting students will feel especially at home in this quiet, comfortable setting. Begin your mornings with coffee on the covered porch, then head out to the nearby redwoods, campus, or downtown—each just a short walk or drive away.
After a day of adventure, return to a charming cottage that blends the feel of a restored farmhouse with tasteful modern and vintage décor. Wide-plank faux wood floors enhance the cozy, country ambiance throughout the space. Stock up on local favorites at the Arcata Farmers’ Market or nearby gourmet and organic grocers, including Wildberries and the Co-Op, and prepare meals in the fully stocked kitchen featuring a gas stove. Prefer to dine outdoors? Fire up the propane BBQ and enjoy an al fresco meal on the patio. While there is no dishwasher, ample dishware and glassware are provided for your convenience.
The cottage offers comfortable new queen beds with high-quality bedding for a restful night’s sleep. After hiking the nearby Arcata Community Forest, refresh in the spacious walk-in shower, then unwind on the sectional sofa and enjoy watching your favorite shows on the Smart TV. Complimentary Wi-Fi is included, and a washer and dryer are available for guest use in the detached laundry room next door.
Situated on a quiet private property shared with two other residences, the cottage is surrounded by nature, with deer frequently passing through. The owner works on site and offers guests complete privacy while remaining friendly and happy to share local insights. *To help us be good neighbors, please observe quiet hours from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., park only in designated spaces, and respect the privacy of other residents. **Parking is limited to two vehicles, with space for one additional visitor car available by prior approval.
Important Notes:
** Guest reserving home must be 25 years or older, be staying at the property the entire time and will be considered the responsible party for this booking.
** Upon completion of booking reservation guests will be required to sign a rental agreement agreeing to Trinidad Retreats rules and regulations.

Location was really nice- close to downtown and 101 and the college , yet nice to be in a private area to enjoy outside with no one around or walk down the road to a neighborhood park for our 6 year old.

This was the perfect place for our little group of 4 to have as a central point to explore Humboldt County. The space was very comfortable, with a good mix of privacy and social spaces, it was clean and very pleasantly decorated and very quiet. It was an incredible value for the price and the communication with our hosts was fantastic- they were very flexible with some last minute change of plans which I appreciated. Would 100% recommend and we are already starting to plan a trip back.

Great place to stay with all the comforts of home. Some road noise at night in the front bedroom but some white noise did the trick for sleeping.

This cottage was the perfect base for our weekend visit! It is much larger than I anticipated, and was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was huge! The living room was spacious with a nice sectional couch. There is a laundry room next door to the cottage, which was a nice perk (although we didn't need to use it). This is a great place to stay if you want to be close to everything but feel like you are in the country.

It's very clean, quite spacious, and in a convenient location. Beds are a little soft for me, the heater didn't quite warm the back bedroom, and road noise on weekdays can be pretty loud, if you try to sleep in at all. Overall great stay with very minor complaints.

It’s an old farmhouse but cutely decorated. It needs more lights. It’s dark. It needs a curtain over the front door. There is car noise going by in front of house but not dramatically loud. It was super clean. The towels were abundant and fluffy. Good price. Beds very comfy.

Kitchen was clean and had everything we needed. House was in a great location to enjoy Humboldt and the Redwoods. Really nice place to stay.

The vacation rental was spotless.

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.

Lovely home and felt there was space for all 4 of us guests. Loved the old windows and the view of the beautiful flowers and sunset skies from the kitchen! Wish there would have been a fourth regular chair at the dining room table, but we were able to substitute a stool from the kitchen table for three.

The kitchen was fully equipped for cooking and the living room furniture was very comfortable. Great little private spot tucked away from the main road. We will be back!

The Jane Creek cottage was great, large, everything worked well, superb location to Humboldt State. We will definitely stay here again
