This hidden gem located on Beck Hill off of Diamond Ridge Road is privacy at its best. Located only 7 minutes from downtown Homer, it's a quick trip to the grocery stores, shopping, beaches, the spit and the harbor, hiking, biking, and ski trails. Homer also has several delicious restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinnner. Relax inside on the couch or out on the deck with gorgeous views of Kachemak Bay and Cook Inlet. Mt. Augustine Volcano is so beautiful and the sunsets are amazing from this little hideaway house. This clean and comfortable 1 bedroom house has new furnishings and is fully equipped for your vacation stay. Grill your fresh halibut or salmon, enjoying a growler of local beer out on the deck overlooking the huge yard and outstanding views. Maybe a moose will come strolling through or some sandhill cranes will do a dance! Come enjoy the peace and quiet of the small picturesque town of Homer and live like the locals do! Dogs welcome.

Cutest cottage for a quiet weekend

I was so surprised to get into such a cute, well-priced get away with only a month's notice. It is tourist season in Alaska afterall. Quiet and comfortable with easy access to the town, I loved my stay. I thought I was going to experience a bear sighting on the first day when some bushes started shaking pretty vigorously, but it turned out to a large bunny who nibbled his way across the yard. It was the kind of wildlife encounter I can appreciate. I would definitely recommend this cottage.

A cozy peaceful cottage stay

This was a great quiet private little place to stay while exploring Homer if you want to be surrounded by the forest. It is a short drive (less than 10 min) from the town. We appreciated the early check in and the new washer and dryer to use during our stay. The kitchen is well stocked but could use some updated cookware. The large backyard with regular visits from snowshoe hares and the beautiful view were well worth it!!

Beck Hill Hideaway

Very quiet and secluded. Snowshoe hare resident was fun to watch daily. Older home with some nice upgrades.

Quiet location and beautiful view

Cute cottage in a very private setting with a beautiful view. Comfortable bed and all the basics you need for your stay.

Quick fishing trip

Perfect location to rest, shower, eat and recharge for fishing trips. Nice and secluded and the views were awesome - easy come, easy go …. would stay again without hesitation.

Great private lot

We really enjoyed the layout and the setting, and appreciated the short notice booking. The pull out bed could use some improvement but overall had a great time!

True Getaway!

Such an amazing place. Close to town but you feel completely hidden. A wonderful place to relax, see the wildlife but still be able to run to Safeway for groceries. Will absolutely stay here again!

A nice little house with a very pretty garden and view!

This little house is beautifully kept and has a beautiful little garden and yard. The weather was lovely while there, so we were able to use the deck and grill.

Beautiful!

The house was clean and very cozy. The views were amazing. Was kind of bummed when there wasn't a grill there when we got there but they got us one quickly! Would stay there again!

Great little cabin

The rental was great. After many miles/KM's of driving this little paradise was perfect. Exactly as described and easy to find, yet removed from town - very quiet and private. We were travelling with our dogs and the yard was perfect for them. I would definitely recommend this rental if you want to relax and have some privacy, but still have easy access to town. 5 stars - easily one of the highlights of our Alaskan adventure.

A Wonderful Place to Stay!

Once again I had an incredible experience with VRBO. This little cottage was ultra clean and and as charming as can be. Just one private bedroom, but plenty of room for the kids since there is a pull-out couch and a futon. The kitchen had everything you need to prepare meals, but I chose to eat out mostly because Homer has some of the best restaurants in Alaska. Linens and towels were nice quality and colorful. Best of all was the back deck overlooking the bay and mountains beyond. What an incredible view! I love the mountains so this hill-top cottage gave me the best of both worlds, but still just a 10 minute drive to Bishops Beach and a just a few minutes more to the Spit. The home is set 100 yards or so off the street and the yard is large, so my two small dogs love exploring the yard, and nearly came face to face with a moose who bedded down in the lawn our first night. I had a question which was quickly answered by owner via text. Access was easy as can be and love the 12 noon checkout time. I can't imagine a better place to stay on my next visit to Homer!

Comfort and privacy

I had a wonderful stay here. The house was clean and had everything I needed. The views are gorgeous and the property is well maintained. The back deck is perfect for morning coffee. The living room is cozy, the whole house is very warm and inviting. The owner was friendly and easy to communicate with. The best part was how private the house is. I came to Homer for a little R&R and was not disappointed. I would absolutely rent this house again.
