The hosts were amazing and had the kitchen full of goodies for us for breakfast in the morning, which was really nice. There were actually apples growing on trees as well as grapes that we were encouraged to pick off the vines in the front yard. The views were incredible and I got some great sunset pictures. The parking was sometimes challenging and The Hills for walking are not for the faint of heart. But we figured out how to use the transit system and that was really close by. We slept well, although you can hear every footstep in the unit above. The bathroom and the decor overall is just amazing and eclectic. We really liked the place and the hosts and would come back again.

Great view and host!!

Properly was perfect for two friends traveling on vacation. Location is perfect, close to downtown, near a great greenway, and easy access to the main parts of Seattle. Hosts were awesome, great communication and even gave us some homemade banana bread!!

Wonderful accommodations with a view of the water and Bainbridge island. Very charming. Short walk to coffee and a wonderful bakery. Catherine provided breakfast items and delicious baked goods. Would definitely stay here again when we are in Seattle.

Great Experience

Comfortable, roomy, with plenty of amenities and a wonderful view. Great host communication. Loved the location. Would choose to stay here again any time we're back in Seattle!

Great stay for a holiday weekend

This property was so wonderful for our long holiday weekend in Seattle. Starting from the check in process, everything was smooth and easy. The rooms and kitchen were great, and you really can’t beat the wonderful patio out front, we sat there for hours on end easily. The apartment was a close walk to a lot of good restaurants in Queen Anne and there is a bus stop just a 1 block walk away making it really easy to get around and explore Seattle.

Queen Anne Visit

Wonderful stay! Catherine was a great host going above and beyond in communication. The snacks and breakfast treats she provided were unexpected and very much appreciated. The home was comfortable with a well stocked kitchen and a huge bathroom with a wonderful shower! Beautiful location in a quiet neighborhood convenient to Queen Anne and close to bus stops. Perfect for us visiting family just down the block!

Nice place. I did have an allergic reaction to cats while I was there even though there wasn’t a cat in our place. The host is very nice and helpful. Bed was super comfortable. Parking is dicey. Especially coming back after 5 pm.

Queen Anne stay

We are ex Seattleites and enjoy this location. The view is nice and fills the living spaces as well as the from the deck. The hosts are attentive and work for you to enjoy your stay. This is an older home and you do hear steps from above, Catherine and Marc are working on noise mitigation

Delightful Queen Anne Apartment

The home/apartment was an absolute delight. Lots of woodwork, a huge beautiful bathroom with a soaking tub and artwork and books sprinkled throughout. We thoroughly enjoyed the treats and snacks provided: cookies, bagels, candy, fruit, homemade jams, tea and coffee. The host went out of her way to provide oat milk for my son. Her restaurant recommendations were spot on. I can't say enough about what a pleasure it was to stay here. I'll tell all my friends ! Highly recommended!!😀

Nice place, a bit noisy

Wonderful unit and nice host. Catherine provided breakfast (muffins, bagels, yogurt, granola, etc) snacks and coffee fixings. So thoughtful! We had a problem with the wifi and the owner fixed it immediately. The bedrooms were comfortable and the bathroom with a large shower and and oversized bath were a bonus. However, the noise issue is worth mentioning. You can hear the people walking and moving around upstairs. My husband was hardly bothered, but I’m more sound sensitive and had trouble sleeping cause I heard everything even with earplugs in.

Beautiful view from porch

My rating is really a 4 3/4...….The apartment is great. Clean, two bedrooms and fantastic bathroom with a HUGE tub and shower. Well stocked, great location. We Ubered all over Seattle and always a car there in less than 4 minutes and easy to get where ever we wanted. Nice to come back to after busy days in the city. The pastries were a special treat, the fridge stocked with yogurts, milk, coffee, tea cereal. Stayed in many VRBO's and this was a first with treats. My family loved the lemon/ginger bars. Suggestion for bath, a few hooks on the wall. With three people, only one towel bar or had to hang over shower. The reason for my 1/4 star reduction was the floor noise from above. I even wear ear plugs to bed and it was loud and we couldn't get to sleep. The floor noise in unit is bad too, but over head worse. Just an FYI the "climb" to the front door is steep (short, but steep) if you have bad knees. That being said, it is a lovely apartment, in a great neighborhood, easy accessibility and Catherine is very accommodating.

I’m so sorry to hear that you couldn’t sleep! One downside of a vintage house - it creaks a bit. We have never had anyone say they couldn’t sleep before, though... we are early sleepers, so it must have been the younger, rambunctious cats along with usual old house sounds. Front access to the property is definitely a hill climb. We usually encourage guests to use the back entrance and park on 10th Ave. I will definitely install more bathroom hooks and appreciate the feedback.

Wonderful Stay

Catherine (the owner) is a great communicator and a super nice person & host; she checked in on us a few times to make sure we had all that we needed. We stayed 8 days and the house was the right size for both of us. It seems to be a daylight basement. It has plenty of windows for light and it stays cool all day even when is warm outside. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom is huge with extra nice water pressure from the shower head. Catherine provided continental breakfast a few times like sweet breads, bagels, also yogurt, granola, raisins, almonds, snacks, fruits, water, juice, and coffee beans, grinder, French press and organic cream. Sadly, about 3 days during the day which we stayed in for most of the day there was hammering noise from some floor work upstairs. It's hardwood floors downstairs; we assume upstairs too because you can hear the floors when we all walk. One suggestion we have is on the view from the porch. Looking at the photos on the property on this website, it looks that in the past the view was unobstructed from the porch (no vines obstructing the beautiful partial view of Puget Sound (one can see the ferries and cruises in and out of Seattle) as well as the sun/moon going down in the horizon towards Magnolia neighborhood; the actual chairs are nice, but not usable for some of us that cannot sit that low and have a difficult time getting up. Some normal chairs and stable side table to put the coffee and wine will be a plus.

Fernando and Therman, I'm so sorry about the noise. Our renovation is taking longer than expected:( Now that I know how much noise carries from that area we won't have work done while guests are here. And you're right- we need to tame that grape vine! Not the best placement, I fear. You are wonderful people and the best guests. I'm truly sorry your stay was not up to our expectations 😔

Refund request. Sleepless in Seattle

After a sleepless night we are requesting a refund for the remaining 3 nights. We were surprised by several issues in the unit that were not disclosed. As previously mentioned, my husband is 6'4". As you would expect, he hit his head with on the low thresholds in both the front door and in the bathroom. He barely cleared the ceiling throughout the unit. We were also unaware of the difficulty in accessing the unit. The number of steps and slope of the vertical incline to enter the unit was also not disclosed. We had difficulty entering and exiting last night and this morning and cannot continue to do this. Lastly, we were unaware that this was a basement unit with people living above us. We learned of this last night as, when attempting to sleep, we heard walking above us until midnight and again at 3:45 this morning which awakened us. We know under the terms of the agreement with VRBO, we are entitled to quiet enjoyment of the premises (something we did not experience last night or this morning) We would forward to hearing from you and amicably settling this matter without involving VRBO.

The front incline to the apartment is disclosed twice in the first paragraph of the property description. “Perched above a stone walkway, Easy access through the back…to avoid the steep front walkway…”. I called the guest a night prior to arrival as there had been no response to previous communications. She briefly mentioned her husband’s height in reference to needing the second bedroom available. The ceiling height is more than adequate- but I lapsed in neglecting to recall/mention the second entry door is 6 ft 3.3 inches. The accommodation is listed as an apartment. As owners living on the upper floor we maintain a quiet residence. We were asleep by 10:30pm and up at 5am. We have CATS that roam at all hours indoors. This is twice, in 15 years of renting, our cat’s activities have disturbed guests at night. Highly sensitive sleepers are advised to rent a stand alone residence. After receiving the above review as an early morning text I immediately pursued a refund and tried to accommodate them in other ways. They received a prompt refund.

Great view and ammenities!

I stayed here along with my parents. The house was the perfect size for us and had everything we needed. The owner treated us to some muffins and bagels for our first morning view of the mountains and Elliot Bay. She even replenished the coffee beans during our stay! The beds are comfortable and the bathroom is like a spa. Communication with the owner was wonderful and she checked in on us to make sure we had all that we needed. Highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here again.

Enjoyable stay

This apartment was clean and tasteful. The host was gracious and helpful. The neighborhood is quiet and close to restaurants, a bakery and grocery store. There is a walkway that climbs a short hill, so if you are handicapped at all, it can be difficult. But the host is happy to offer dropping off baggage in alley above. If you don't mind a very short climb, it's great to park on street and walk up short walkway.
