Adorable Spanish style detached back home or casita in fantastic area of Historic North Park . Very quiet. Open & bright with Saltillo tile floor, open concept, updated kitchen, and eating area.. Comfy queen bed in bedroom and a full size hide-a-bed in living room, plus Pack 'n Play if needed. 50" TV/DVD with cable and high speed Internet. Private patio in front w/umbrella covered table & chairs. Private back patio w/loungers, bistro set, gas bbq grill & festive lighting. Laundry facilities available. One off street parking spot in driveway for your convenience. No stairs from parking to casita, the home is all on one level also. Organic products are supplied for your use, including the laundry soap that we use for your sheets and towels.

Walk to everything!! Cafes, restaurants, Morley Park where there is a newly renovated Historic 1933 outdoor public pool. Only 5 blocks from the casita. Bus stop nearby too. Walk score 89, close to Balboa Park, San Diego Zoo, Morley Field, shopping, restaurants, I-5, 15 minutes to beach, close to Downtown San Diego, Coronado Island and 14 minutes to airport.

Many nearby restaurants - the popular Communal Coffee Café and the Olympic Cafe (Greek food) is just a block away. Walk nearby to 30th & University for many restaurants, cafes, bars, shopping and breweries. Thursday is North Park's Farmers Market & Whole Foods is nearby. The Smoking Goat Bistro (French American), Urban Solace, Tamarindo (Latin), Soi, Craft & Sea, The Mission, Underbelly (Japanese noodle) are just a few restaurants to sample. This is a fantastic neighborhood with much to explore & experience! The location is amazing, and the casita is charming and very clean!

Terrific Casita

The owner of Great Casita provided excellent communication both before and after our stay. The directions to the property were clear, and the instructions for using the TV, skylight, and other features were easy to follow. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed—we only wished we’d stayed longer to take full advantage of it! The neighborhood was quiet and we enjoyed the Farmer's market held on Thursdays. Looking forward to next time!

Quiet and cute

The house felt very roomy and open. We didn't cook but the kitchen has tons of room and lots of ammenities! The bed is very comfortable with lots of pillow options amd the neighborhood was very quiet. There was a slight moldy smell in the house but we got used to it. The host was extremely friendly and reachable which was helpful when we needed her. Super happy about the driveway parking spot too!! Very close to everything!!

Everything we needed

After staying in this casita I have to wonder why I need a big house! This casita was so comfortable for my husband and me….it had everything we needed for the 3 days we were there. Great location in a quiet neighborhood and the driveway accommodated our vehicle nicely.

Great Home Away From Home

A great home in a fantastic location. The casita was extremely clean and felt secluded even though it was centrally located to everything you could possibly need - countless restaurants, pubs, and even a full grocery store - all within a block or two of the casita.The off-street parking, well-stocked kitchen, ample storage areas, and on-site laundry all make this a winner!

San Diego stay

The casita was very nice. It was close to many restaurants within walking distance of North Park and Hillcrest. The host was very nice and reachable! The home was clean, bed was comfy. We didn’t cook there was out and about most of the time. The only thing I would say is to add to description that there is a skylight in the bedroom with no covering so if you want to sleep in you cannot as once dawn comes it’s very bright in the bedroom. Overall a very nice place to stay with a wonderful host.

Everything we wanted and more

This was a great property. Everything in the listing and some extras. The location was perfect with walking distance to stores and restaurants, just a stone's throw from Balboa Park and the Zoo. Quiet, clean, and restful. Our host responded quickly the couple times we had questions. Would 100% recommend to a couple or a couple friends visiting San Diego.

Great!

The only problem with this place is the driveway for parking. It is really difficult for 2 people to get out of the vehicle once parked, because there is not enough space. One has to get off by the sidewalk, so the driver can pull over far enough to open his door! Everything else was clean, neat, beautiful! Homeowner was easy to get ahold of!

Trip not as planned.

The property was great! Plenty of room for 2 people. Nice location and easy to get there. Unfortunately on the 3rd day of our 10 days stay, my friend went into the hospital with an acute bowel obstruction. She had surgery on the 30th of September and is still there. We are already planning a trip to Maine in September next year!

Perfect for us

The casita was clean and well-stocked; it had everything we needed. It was the perfect size for two people. The beds (including sofa bed) were comfortable. The neighborhood was surprisingly quiet for being so close to a major road. It was great to have private parking. It is within a few-block walk to restaurants/bars.

Perfect place

We were visiting our daughter in San Diego and this charming casita was the perfect place to stay. The property itself was clean and cozy and had everything we needed and the location was perfect. Will definitely stay here again if it is available for our next visit to San Diego.

Great Stay

The property was clean and well kept. Decorated nice with not a lot of clutter. My only issue was the bedroom does have a skylight in it that is extremely bright early in the morning which made sleeping in an issue for me personally. I would however stay there again. The location was great and we really appreciated having the driveway to park in since parking is such an issue in San Diego. We would highly recommend staying here

Great place & location

This property was perfect for our extended weekend. The location is perfect, with a number of great restaurants within walking distance and a short drive to the other locations we planned to visit. The casita is cute, cozy and fully stocked with literally everything you might need and even the things you didn't know you needed! The bed is also very comfortable. 😊 We had some minor trouble with one of the door locks and Nancy sent someone to take care of it and she was an overall very pleasant and attentive host. I'd absolutely recommend this property and would book again if I visit the area. we planned to visit.

Worked Well For Us

My husband and I were in San Diego to celebrate our friends' 40th wedding anniversary. Since we were seeing people in several parts of the county, we ended up eating there and not in the neighborhood where we were staying. When we were at the "casita", we stayed in and cooked there. The kitchen is well equipped. It was too hot to be outside. The house holds heat and gets rather warm during the day (no blind on western kitchen door). There is AC and it works quickly. The only drawback for me (not my husband) was not having a luggage rack. I travel a lot and prefer to live out of my suitcase; I never use a chest of drawers. There was some trouble communicating with the owner on our day of travel, but once we were in San Diego we didn't encounter any other communication issues. The guys living in the front house are very welcoming. The driveway isn't for everybody. We drove a Hundai Sonata and barely fit with enough room for us to get out (e.g., inches).

Beautiful, cozy and good neighborhood place.

My wife, kids, and I enjoyed staying in this cozy home. It is a beautiful place where we enjoyed coffee outside in the patio with a cool breeze. The home has all the essentials that you need to make a home cooked meal. Great Host with rapid response. Highly recommended!!

Mother-Son Trip

My teenaged son and I had a great time visting San Diego. The casita was an easy drive/Uber trip to all the fun places we wanted to see! The casita was clean + comfortable.

My name is Nancy Felton and I have been a Realtor in Seattle for 37 years. I have owned and operated 3 other vacation rentals for almost 10 years. San Diego is such a fun place that I purchased this property to make into a vacation rental so I can come and visit San Diego also.

I closed down the vacation rental is May of 2020 when everyone cancelled because of Covid and rented the property full time. Now I am ready to open again and continue with the vacation property. I am excited to be able to provide you with a great and enjoyable stay.

I fell in love with this neighborhood that is so close to everything, from 3 blocks to olympic size swimming pool to the local cafe only 1 block away. Minute drive to beaches, the zoo and Balboa Park. I also enjoy sharing my home with people from all over the United States and the world so they can enjoy this little piece of heaven.
