Hang Ten offers 'Beachfront' views from every room at 'Across the Street' pricing!
And the short, direct beach path is right in front of the house!
Hang Ten's location between 4th and 5th Streets is ideal, just far enough from the commercial center for quiet yet close enough for an easy bike ride or walk to the town center.
Hang Ten offers extra privacy with its unique L-shaped layout placing the two master suites at opposite ends. All rooms are bright and spacious with large double windows.

There are no power lines in front of the house to spoil the views, a real bonus in gulf beach area.

Hang Ten has three bedrooms and three full baths, a fully-stocked kitchen, laundry, covered parking, enclosed hot and cold outdoor shower, fish cleaning sink, and screened and open deck areas.

The pool is one of the most private on the island. One guest commented: you can wear your birthday suit! Pool Heat is available for an extra charge ($350 per week) during Spring , Fall and Winter depending upon air temperatures.

One of our guests said it best: 'Hang Ten was a wonderful vacation house. The layout was perfect to allow everyone privacy and it had everything we needed. Really enjoyed screened porch, view, access to beach and great pool! We were very pleased!'

Hang Ten also provides free wireless high-speed internet, a high chair, a playpen.

An outside security camera placed under the open deck in the nook of the "L" shape and viewing the driveway, street, and lower portion of the entry stairs was added in March 2023.

Dogs are welcome: $90 for up to two dogs.$45 each extra dog.
Monthly dog fee : $180 for up to two dogs and $80 for each extra dog

Hang Ten rents from Saturday to Saturday. The primary renter must be 25 years or older.

Hang Ten offers only weekly stays except Winter Season or last minute.

Reservations for shorter periods of time may be made for Spring and Fall depending upon property availability and approval. (It is usually available to be booked within 2 month of the arrival day.)

The rates do not include tax and linen/cleaning fee.

Phenomenal house, location, and owners!

Loved the house. Comfortably slept 6. Great location right across from the beach. The beach was very quiet and the dogs enjoyed their first trip to the Gulf. Good restaurants in the island and in Appalachicola - a 15 minute drive. Great pool. Very responsive owners. Will definitely be back!

Perfect family vacation

We have stayed in many homes on St.George Island over the years. We always stay across the street from the beach. This home is fully equipped with everything you need. Great private pool. Unobstructed view of the ocean. Great floor plan.

Can't wait to come back to Hang Ten!

We loved our stay at Hang Ten! The location felt very private and had great views of the water from the front porch. It was an easy and short walk to the beach which made it easy to transport your beach gear. The house had a lot of space and would be comfortable for multiple couples or a larger family with the 3 bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything you would need for cooking. We enjoyed having the pool for afternoon swims and the fact that the house was pet friendly was great so we could vacation with our dogs. Reggie was very responsive and gave us all the information we needed on what to bring ahead of our trip. We can't wait to come back to St George Island and rent Hang Ten again!

As Described

The property is as described in the listing. The host was very quick to respond. We had 1 minor hiccup and the host had it fixed quickly. The house is an older house with typical maintenance/updates you would expect at a house by the ocean (parents owned a house on the island for many years-salt water is harsh on things ). Furniture was comfortable ( we recommend bring your own pillows but everyone has their own preference). Very short walk to the beach, centrally located and great views! Would stay again.

Nice getaway

We had a nice time and Reggie was very responsive. We did wash some linens because it seemed they were dirty. Actually smelled dirty. Otherwise clean property.

Great location. Fun week

Hang Ten is clean, well furnished and in general a great place to rent for a vacation. The house offers plenty of room inside as well as on the outdoor porch surrounding the front perimeter of the house. The private pool is a huge plus. It was more than large enough for our family of 6 and was clean. We paid to have the pool heated. At this time of year, the extra bucks to have the pool heated is well worth it. The kitchen is well stocked with pretty much any cookware, utensils and dishes for cooking and dining needs. Reggie is super to deal with and responded double quick to a couple of issues that arose during our stay. He genually seemed interested that our needs were met and that we had a good time in his rental.

Hang-10 property stay for 7/16/2022-7/23/2022.

Excellent property. It was clean upon arrival, very comfortable throughout our stay with no property issues, and the owner was very responsive to our one 'issue' (some missing towels) and resolved it quickly. The pool was refreshing after beach activity and greatly enjoyed by our young granddaughter and adults alike. While it is located across the street from the beach, access was very easy and the view of the beach was unobstructed. We would very much consider staying in this property again. We have vacationed on St. George Island for the last 10 years and in the surrounding area for other years also. This property met our needs perfectly for our family stay - 3 good size bedrooms and baths with normal size beds (we don't happen to need bunks for multiple kids at this time). If I had to give any suggestions at this time, it would be for ceiling fans on the outside areas to help move some air during the hottest days while enjoying the upper deck and screened-in area.

Hang Ten!

This house is within walking distance to the Blue Parrot. The Pool is extremely private with morning and evening shade. We also enjoyed having rooms on either side of the house giving the kids their own little area. The owner was very responsive to our needs before during and after our stay. Thank You!

Enjoyable Vacation

ideal getaway

Initial impression was that the property was very clean and very bright. Lots of windows and the first time in over 15 years visiting SGI where we could watch the sunset while eating dinner. Ease of access to the beach was a big plus with our 3 dogs. Beds were comfortable, but not any seating for a taller person who needs good back support. Kitchen was well appointed. Would suggest that the screw heads sticking up about 1/4" above deck boards be dealt with to avoid cutting the feet of bare foot visitors. Living room furniture is very tired - cushions are clearly worn out. All in all, I highly recommend Hang Ten. One of the best properties we have stayed at on SGI.

Perfect beach house in a perfect location

The house was clean, and just as pictured. The beach is just steps away, and it’s a short 5-10 minute walk to all the shops, restaurants, and grocery stores. The kitchen is well-equipped and the local stores were well-stocked with meat, produce, and fresh seafood. We also had takeout from Paddy’s Raw bar which was excellent. The owner checked on us when the weather was bad one night, and all the people we met were very friendly- this place is a hidden gem!

Dirty and in Need of Repair

We entered the home on time and the place was just nasty dirty. The dish washer was running, there was food on the trash can lid, crumbs and grease splatters on the toaster, grease splatters on the stove. There was sand on the table, floors and couches. Fan blades were dirty, the air vent in the hallway was filthy and dog hair every where. The sliding door track was black with filth, the glass had hand prints all over it, slates were missing from the blinds and the windows on the north side of the house were green with mossy film. There was trash on a shelf and a baby bottle left in the bathroom. One of the cleaning ladies said she was new and I understand that yet her trainer should have checked her work. They also told Reggie the people before us left the place in a mess which given what we walked into, I believe. But we should not have walked into their mess either. I contacted Reggie who immediately responded and sent the cleanng girls back. However things such as the dog hair all over the place, the filthy air vent etc were not noticed until after we got settled in. I sent Reggie pictures of all the things listed above and he offered to send them back out. I didn't want a cleaning crew there while we were there and declined. The furniture is very outdated and has a tacky feel to it. If we would have had an option to move to another location, we would have; it was not a pleasant experience. Reggie did refund $100.00 and was very responsive and open to our communications which I appreciated. But if asked if I'd recommend this location, I'd definitely say no.

Wonderful Property

Just returned from a wonderful, relaxing stay. The house is very comfortable and a great layout! We were able to leave windows open and sleep to the sound of the waves right across the street. Pool is very private and nice. The owner was so receptive and communicated very quickly.

Great place in great weather

It was fine, but the weather did not cooperate. The living room furniture was not comfortable for lounging around on cold days.

Beautiful location!

We had a nice relaxing vacation at East End! The view was amazing and a very short walk to the beach! We watched dolphins swimming and Pelicans fishing, it was just what we needed! The house layout was very nice, we would have liked more towels and paper products but we made do. The furniture in the living room needs to be updated, it was not very comfortable. The house needs some TLC but overall it was a beautiful place! The owners are very easy to work with!

We are a family of 4 living in the Metro Atlanta area. We're all nature lovers and love traveling and spending time outdoors. In the summer of 2003 we vacationed on SGI and loved it completely and returned a month later to look for a place to call our own. We bought 'Hang Ten' in September.
Our goal is to make our guests happy.
Since 2013 we have been managing the property ourselves with the help of a very experienced, St. George Island-based management service company. This personalized and dedicated company handles the housekeeping and maintenance for us. They have been providing the customized service for our house and their goals include a very welcoming house upon your arrival and no need for service calls.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

Hang Ten sits on a street to street lot., with good vegetation in the back yard which provides great privacy. The beach access is right in front of the house. There is also no power line in front of the house. Only 3 blocks to the lighthouse and island center, very convenient for shopping and dining. Its location is at the highest point of the island, so it is not prone to flooding by storms.
We think it is a perfect location.
