Rockfish Farmhouse - Home In the heart of The Rockfish Valley

The Rockfish Farmhouse is a quaint destination in the Rockfish Valley of Nelson County. The house was built in the early 1900's and we've tried to retain the Farmhouse charm and have completely renovated the entire house. Very close to Wintergreen, wineries, breweries, and US bike route 76, and Skyline drive. This house is on it's own property with super cute calves in the pasture behind the house.

Girls Weekend!

Its the cutest spot to have a girls trip! The house was clean, beautiful and so sweet! We had the best time and love that its right on 151! Near so many great stops!

What a lovely place!

This house was perfect for our stay. It’s a nice mixture of an early 20th century farmhouse with many modern amenities and flourishes. The hosts have it set-up perfectly with guest comfort in mind, as well as ease of use. The house is exactly as described and shown in the photos; if anything, it’s even nicer than I was expecting. The view of the mountains is beautiful and can be enjoyed from well-built deck or the Adirondacks around the new and clean firepit. The hosts were wonderful. I have zero negative feedback with this rental. Highly, highly recommended!

Cute, clean, delightful country house

We loved staying at the Rockfish Farmhouse. It was incredibly clean upon arriving, charming, up-to-date, and comfortable. The kitchen was well-supplied, and the bedrooms and bathrooms were very comfortable. The yard, especially, the backyard, was great for our three young kids. We enjoyed using the fire pit to make s'mores. The house's driveway is just off a busy road, which did not have any real impact on our stay but is worth noting. Beautiful views of the mountains from the backyard. Easy hiking trails and fun breweries and wineries are just a short drive away. Would highly recommend for families -- we'd certainly return!

UVA Grad Trip

We were very impressed with the house! It was very clean, fresh and plenty of room. The views were amazing, we enjoyed the fire pit and communication with Sarah was easy. It was a little far of a drive (30 minutes) from UVA but we took advantage of all the wineries, breweries and hiking in the Afton area that made it worth it! We totally enjoyed our stay!!

Girlfriends weekend away

Charming, comfortable home that was well appointed and in a wonderful location. Home features, comfortable bedding, toiletries provided, fully stocked kitchen, fire pit and firewood. Beautiful view of the mountains and within a short distance of wineries, breweries and hiking. We were a group of 5 friends having a girls weekend, but all want to come back with our families. Sarah, the host was great communicating with us quickly. Lovely home!

Everything we hoped for and more!

We took our 4 sons for a ski trip at Wintergreen Resort, and stayed at Sarah and Bryan’s amazingly modernized Farm House. We had an amazing time, and had everything we needed for accommodations. We’ll be back.

Comfortable and cozy

This home was a perfect fit for us. We were very comfortable and the fire pit was awesome. It was so convenient to all the features of the area. To have 6 adults and a 3yr old all together made it a magical week.

Great Weekend Getaway

We loved the weekend getaway in Afton. We loved the care that went into the house and we enjoyed the fire pit in the backyard. The kids loved being able to see cows in the backyard as well. Would highly recommend this property and would look to book again if in the area.

Mountain views

We enjoy our stay at your farm house. There were a lot of small touches that the owners provided and we got to enjoy which made our stay better. The views, the back porch, and the fire pit were amazing. The location was not ideal for us as we couldn’t get lyft/Uber transportation to the wineries that were a bit further away but the positive is that there were many wineries and breweries just a short drive away.

Bachelorette Weekend

A group of 8 of us stayed here for a bachelorette weekend and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Everyone had a comfortable stay, plenty of room for gathering and the backyard was so beautiful! It is prime location to many local wineries and breweries making for easy transportation. Our group was already talking about coming back! Thanks for a great weekend!
