The open living, dining, and kitchen area is spacious, yet cozy. A sectional sofa faces a smart TV with DVD. The dining table seats six, with five additional seats at the kitchen island. The gourmet kitchen has granite countertops, a dual fuel range, and handsome custom cabinets with matching refrigerator and dishwasher. Very nice.

The primary bedroom, with an iron king bed, faces an armoire concealing a TV and DVD. The private bath has a large walk-in shower with a bench seat and dual vanity. Down the hall is a guest bedroom, queen, with TV/DVD, and a hall bath with a tub/shower combination.

Upstairs is a guest bedroom, queen, and a bedroom with two sets of twin bunks. Both rooms have TVs/DVDs and share a hall bath with a walk-in shower.

Out back, uncover an enchanting carriage house. Recently completed, it’s adorable, cheery, and hip. featuring a primary bedroom, queen, that opens wide into the living room and efficiency kitchen.

It was mediocre

We rented for a family Christmas vacation. When we arrived the house had some trouble getting into the property and some cleanliness issues. The property management was very responsive and helpful. Overall the property was a little run down. The dishes and utensils in the kitchen were sparse and some of them broken. We even replaced some. Overall not a bad location or property just could use a little bit of love and care.

We always stay at the Sandy Oar when we visit Watercolor. The house is in a perfect location to enjoy all the amenities of Watercolor and the beach. The house is thoughtfully decorated, clean (even the grill), comfortable, well maintained with a fully stocked kitchen. Our kids loved the cute bunk room. The furniture, especially the round dining table, make quality time with family and friends easy. We will visit the Sandy Oar again!

April 2021 Stay

The house interior was dated and a bit tired. I requested replacement light bulbs three times due to lights out. No replacements ever arrived. The house exterior was moldy and there was a lot of rotten wood all around. Some had been fixed in a slap-dash fashion and looked junky. Several pieces of wood disconnected from the stair due to rot. The trip was fun. The house was sub par. I would not book it again and based on my experience w the rental company and never getting replacement bulbs, I think I would seek a different rental company, too.

July 2021 Stay

The Sandy Oar and Watercolor community was just perfect for our family. The house was great, new grill was used a lot, the convenience of the pools, beach and having the bikes made it all so much fun. We would definitely stay again!! The bed in the carriage house could use a new mattress. That is the only thing that did not meet 5 stars.

Prior Guest’s Cleaning Fee Not Spent?

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: House was not cleaned properly - we arrived to an oven with remnants of chocolate chip cookies all over the grates (which we had to clean), crumbs on the couch, an outdoor shower full of used towels, partially used bar of soap and bottle of shampoo. Also, the toilet in the master bedroom didn’t work.

Overall this was a nice property, ideally located in Watercolor. Improvements could be made by servicing the oven as it didn’t heat above 300; and by replacing the outside grill. The bottoms is rusted out, causing grease to hit the ground. The unit needs a good cleaning as well but the majority of it is rusted. I also felt as though the kitchen could have had more cutting boards and cooking utensils. I would stay here again, I will just be more appropriately prepared.

Fabulous fall getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love Sandy Oar! In fact, we’ve stayed here twice this fall for relaxing getaways with friends. The house is well appointed and location is perfect for a day at the Watetcolor Beach Club or Camp Watercolor. We rode bikes and took lots of walks. Oversee service is EXCELLENT! We had a minor appliance issue that was quickly resolved and when we requested 1 additional nights stay beach club passes and extended stay parking passes we left on our doorstep within hours of our request. Will definitely return!

Wonderful

The VRBO was so cute and clean. Everything was as described in the listing. The area was great. Close to the local store and restaurants. The walk to the beach was a little long but manageable... perfect for a bike ride there. The bikes were such a fun activity for everyone. Overall 5-stars. Will book again in the future.

Another Awesome 30A Adventure

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The photos are deceiving - the home is actually much more spacious than it appears in the pictures! Loved the high ceilings in the living area and the large round table for meals and game nights. The kids loved the carriage house! Our only suggestion is to stock the kitchen with more dishes, glasses, cookware, and utensils. During COVID-19 restrictions we cooked and ate in more than we usually do when visiting 30A. Having additional kitchenware items would have made this more convenient. Otherwise, this is a gorgeous home in a super location (it's a straight bike ride to the beach!)

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved our first visit to Water Color at The Sandy Oar! It was so clean and spacious. Loved the porches, and the separate carriage house for our teens. Only reason not a 5 star was because we felt like some info from the Rental Company-- about towel services (covid?) garbage policies and how to recycle-- was lacking. The house needs more glassware and plates since it sleeps 12. We only had 8 glasses and were constantly washing dishes. Only negative so I'd say it was a fantastic vacation!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Was very impressed with the proactive and professional customer support before and during our stay at Sandy Oar. This home was great for our family of 6 - plenty of room to spread out and the location in Watercolor was very handy.Oversee was quick to fix one minor maintenance issue.Everything from bikes, to amenities (including chapstick) was perfect. When we showed up slightly early they communicated well and let us know when the cleaning crew was clear so we could unload our luggage after 11 hours in the car.We'll definitely consider this property again.

Great Place, Great Location

The house was exactly as pictured. Clean, beautiful, and plenty of seating for all of us! The neighborhood was beautiful and having the bikes was a huge gift!
