The house itself was fine. However, due to issues after being under a mandatory evacuation, resulted in a low rating. I understand the hurricane is outside of everyone’s control, but the “resolution” was not reasonable. Our trip was cut short 2 days. The county was under a mandatory evacuation & we received a text from the property manager that we had to check out.The resolution was a credit that had to be used at the same property within 12 months. To be able to coordinate with everyone to take off work again & save for another vacation, all in a 12-month window, is a difficult task. Especially for a 10 hour drive. I explained that & let them know our family is expecting a baby in a few months so that adds to the difficulty of scheduling another vacation. Unfortunately, you could tell they were sticking to a script & had no interest in working anything out.We would have been okay if the policy was something to the effect of 100% refund for the days affected if applying as a credit or 75% refund if choosing to refund to the payment method.Again, the property was fine. However, a mandatory evacuation for the entire county & being told by the property manager we had to check out, which are both outside of our control, resulting in no option of a refund is not reasonable. It was also frustrating to discover friends & family in properties in this same area & around the Gulf were instantly given refunds without having to ask. We will be using anyone else next vacation.
