"Shirl's Shores" is a 4 Bedroom, 2 bath classic beach bungalow, arranged with 2 bedrooms/1 bath on each side separated by a large open central living area. It is perfect for 1 or 2 families. SHIRL'S SHORES IS A 7 DAY, MINIMUM, SATURDAY TO SATURDAY ROTATION. Sleeps 8, with queen beds in 3 bedrooms and 2 twins in the 4th. This cottage has been owned by the same family since 1980 and has been enjoyed as a vacation site by many families and fishermen over the years. Previously, rented through a local agency, we manage it directly (retired and full time residents of Nags Head). We want you to enjoy a true beach experience. The location is ideal for beachcombers and nature lovers. (Milepost 21)-the southern side of S. Nags Head-close to the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center. Considering the ideal location, the rates are truly value priced. In keeping with the goal of "economy pricing", linens are not standard. Guests would bring their own sheets (3 queens, 2 twins) & towels. Bedspreads, pillows, blankets, and mattress pads are provided. We can direct you to local linen services, should you need them.

Another Great Stay!
This is the second time we have stayed here - once again we enjoyed our stay. The location has great access to beach. The house is clean and the kitchen had been updated since our last stay.

We had another wonderful stay here and truly can’t recommend it enough! We had stayed at the property a couple of years ago and were so impressed by all of the updates since our last visit. Everything felt fresh, clean, comfortable, and incredibly well cared for.The home was absolutely perfect for our family and had everything we needed for an easy, relaxing beach getaway. The location is fantastic — being within walking distance of the beach made our days so convenient, especially with the family in tow.The hosts were also wonderful to work with. They were extremely communicative, responsive, accommodating, and flexible throughout our stay, which made the entire experience that much better.You can tell a lot of care has been put into both the home and the guest experience. We already loved this property from our previous stay, but the updates made it even better this time around. We had such a great trip and will absolutely be looking forward to staying here again on our next beach vacation. Highly recommend!

Great location, great house
Wonderful experience for our first VRBO. Our check-in / check-out couldn't have been any easier. The house was clean and perfect size for our family. The host was super and made sure we had her cell number before we even arrived in case we needed something

Great little house
Check in process was smooth. Owner had great communication! Nice uncrowded beach just steps away!

Exactly as described
This was our first time in OBX and it did not disappoint. We loved the house, it was in a great location in nags head. The owners were easy to work with. I would highly recommend this stay.

Perfect cottage close to the beach!
We enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing vacation here and would definitely return! The house had plenty of space for our family of four and our little dog. Loved the porches on both the front and back of the house. Perfect proximity to the beach.

Beach
The location of this house was perfect. It is a very short walk to the beach that is not crowded. The house was a nice size for my family and parents. We would stay here again. Had everything we needed.

Wonderful, relaxing time in Nags Head
Our family had a wonderful time, staying at this Nags Head property. Shirley and Becky couldn't have been more hospitable. We were able to relax, and really enjoy family-time together! :D

Family time
This is our 2nd year staying at Shirl's Shores. 4 adults and our dogs were comfortable and pleased with the house. The owners understand the meaning of family time. Highly recommend Shirl's Shores.

Felt like home had moved to the beach!
Well appointed, kitchen exceeded expectations, steps to beach, one porch always in shade! Owners were attentive, helpful and very kind! Staying here provided a worry free vacation week! We are grateful!

Shirley, along with her husband Allen had this cottage built back in 1980-both as a family vacation site and as an investment. She and her family loved the nature, beauty and the unique privacy that South Nags Head offers. It is the perfect site for true beach combers and for launching off to Rodanthe, Hatteras, Okracoke, etc.-yet close to the restaurants and shops in Manteo and Nags Head. She lost Allen about 10 years ago but has maintained this cottage as a family vacation rental property. It is value priced.
