Birch Lake Secluded Getaway LLC is the perfect destination for your next vacation. Enjoy the peaceful country setting away from the maddening crowd. Our 12-acre resort is situated in the beautiful hills of Midwestern Wisconsin, complete with a private 3.5-acre spring-fed lake, four beaches, and four homes located 100 feet apart, allowing for a safe and private getaway. Our lake is stocked with bass and bluegill, and each house is equipped with a hot tub, indoor fireplace, flat-screen TV, full kitchen, and central air, making it perfect for all types of travelers. Birch Lake Secluded Getaway LLC is the perfect destination for those looking for a tranquil and relaxing getaway. Our 12-acre resort offers four homes with spectacular views of the lake. All homes are listed on Vrbo and conveniently located in the rolling hills of central Wisconsin. We also offer a variety of outdoor activities, including volleyball and badminton, row and paddle boats for use and plenty of open space for a range of activities. For larger groups, we can accommodate up to 44 people overnight for weddings, company retreats, family reunions, church trips, and any other type of large get-togethers.

Great stay

Terry and his team were great , love the location even with the cold. Percent to focus on work in the peace and quiet. they were very accommodating and responsive , look forward to staying here again .

Winter getaway

Our trip was enjoyable and relaxing. The cabin was quant and clean and comfortable. My boyfriend wanted to ice fish in a lake, but this is really a pond. It was not frozen, but we still enjoyed the hot tub and relaxing together. We took a drive into Tomah and went to the cheese shop and antique store. The area of the cabin was pretty and there was a nice trail to walk. The whole area was safe and peaceful!

Cozy Getaway

The cabin was very comfortable for the two of us for the weekend. We enjoyed the hot tub in the evening, and the wild life in the morning, drives through country, and shopping in Tomah.

Anniversary Trip

My boyfriend & I spent our 8 year anniversary here for the first time. It was very relaxing and gorgeous out there. Communication was great, the privacy was great and we’re definitely interested in coming back for next year’s anniversary!

This cabin was a great getaway for our family.

Older cabin. The lake is not a swimming lake, but our kids had a great time taking the pedal boat out and caught a ton of fish. We also saw huge snapping turtles by our dock. They were neat to watch.

Honeymoon

Overall it was a good stay. The bed was a bit uncomfortable, a bit too firm for me. The hot tub was very nice, we used it daily during our stay. The fireplace worked very well. A few updates would be nice. Bluetooth speakers for outside would be nice. A few of the outside lights did not work. It would have been nice to have the fire pit in a more private location.

Ranch stay

The property manager was very nice, when we got to the location, we went to the wrong cabin, Terry personally came and told us where we had ended up at the wrong location. When we couldn't figure out the TV, he sent his property maintenence person right away to show us how to work the dish. The facility in general nice but could use some updating, not complaining just an observation.

Ranch cabin

The cabin is located on a beautiful piece of property in a secluded area. However the cabin decor was outdated and needed a good cleaning. Floors were dirty, inside cabinets were dirty. Blinds and curtains were dusty. Windows needed washing. The glass ware that was provided was a hodgepodge of different pieces . The pillows with the bedding were old and flat. Not comfortable at all. We made the best of our stay and had a great time.

Not as expected

We were a little disappointed with our cabin. It was stated that the kitchen was fully stocked, but it was far from it. Plan on bringing everything you think you’re going to need, because there sure wasn’t much there. I’m talking about supplies, not food. The lake was totally different than the pictures also. It was scummy and is more of a pond than a lake. The hot tub is old, but it worked, although the water wasn’t the cleanest, which was a turnoff. The very first day there we realized we had a mouse in the house, which got into some of our food. One good thing about this place is that it was quiet, probably because we might have been the only renters there that week.

Simple yet comforting

Let's start with the not so great. There was definitely a dead mouse behind the cabinets/stove area because the smell was overwhelming. I get it's a cabin in the middle of the country, but that seems like something that should've been addressed. You should expect to bring trash bags, toilet paper, towels, etc. when staying here as none of it's provided. Not the worst thing, but can be frustrating for some. Now onto the good. The town of Tomah is way more active than we expected. The main street area was pleasant and there's plenty to do in the surrounding area. The cabin itself slept really well, the fireplace was relaxing and the views are great. It was a bit cold on our visit but I'm sure the lake amenities and the hot tub are great as well. In all, we enjoyed our trip but please understand that it's a pretty standard rental intended for smaller groups/families.

Check everything at check in

The location is beautiful! The cabin is a great size and needs more basic amenities. We did contact the host in regards to blood on mattress covers and a comforter.. this was not remedied until the next day. We had to try to use the spare bedding that was clean to still use the sofa sleepers. Other than that, being unsanitary, the rest of the little things we worked with. Need to bring everything from home for your stay (toilet paper, dish soap, scrub brush, towels, hand soap..etc)

Secluded cabin with lots to do!

Check in was a breeze. Communication was super timely with replies. Cabin was in an absolutely beautiful area of Tomah WI. Lots to do near by and places to grab anything you may have forgotten to bring. The cabin was quaint and comfy. Hot tub was clean and the perfect addition to our stay. The paddle boat for the lake was so fun and light weight so easily put into the water and take out. Fridge was so cold and kept everything cold or frozen that we needed. Coffee maker was perfect! what needed to be done at checkout was easily done in less than 5 mins which was so nice. we left behind a roll of toilet paper, one garbage bag that was brand new and some charcoal and fluid for the grill for the next guests- hope that was ok. The bed was huge and comfy! We hiked the little trail by the beach, enjoyed the lake, the dock and the fire pit. Also- the radio that’s inside and out is amazing and now something I want at my house haha! We will be back but with some friends at the larger cabin because we enjoyed the resort that much! Thank you for allowing us to make a weekend full of memories at your resort - loved every moment!

Great Time

The family had a wonderful time. There were a few issues that came up some of which I fixed myself. I would have contacted the PM but was unable due to service. Did not mind not having service. Maybe a quiet time be set because of some younger guests that arrived. Other than them, it was a quiet and relaxing time.

Just the 2 of us

Our stay was good, if you want out of the way and fairly private this cabin is the one! Beautiful views just as the pictures show. Check in was extremely simple although I got confused because it was so simple. Cabin did have a musty smell but after we opened it up and used the carpet fresh we found it was ok.

Secluded getaway

I think we really lucked out bc we were the only ones on the property at our stay, but it was exactly what we needed! Tracy is super easy to connect & communicate with which is really nice. Nice outdoor seating, grill & fireplace to cozy up too (inside and out). I appreciated the speakers outside of the ranch - it was a really nice and convenient surprise! Can’t speak on the beach as the water was a bit murky during our visit, but there’s plenty of seating out there to hang out on. Close to Tomah & Sparta for all your needs! Great place to get away for a couple of days - thank you Terry!!

Romantic weekend away

My husband and I were looking for somewhere to get away for the weekend that was different than a typical hotel. Allowing us to have the comforts of home without the little ones. The Ranch cabin was perfect for a romantic weekend away just the two of us.

Welcome to Birch Lake Secluded Getaway! We are Sally and Terry. What a great blessing it was to stumble onto this beautiful 12-acre property in 1995. Even though the only convenience here was an outhouse (including no plumbing or electricity!) we fell in love with the rolling hills and beautiful lake. As former city dwellers and corporate dropouts who had made the choice to get out of the traffic and noise, we headed to the country with nothing specific in mind except to just get away from it all.

Starting from scratch was an adventure where over the next ten years, Birch Lake slowly began to develop. It was so much fun to put in the opportunities for the simple escape to nature; Ranging from the hiking trail in the woods, the little waterfall, and the deck out on the water. It was because of these ideas in which Birch Lake came into being. As we began to offer this experience to others we expanded, adding one cabin after another; Having each cabin carefully designed to complement and fit into the surroundings.

It has truly been a pleasure to receive the gift of trust that we deeply value from our guests. The fond memories that our guests create are what make up the ambiance of our Wisconsin vacation rentals.
