The Prairie House was excellent place to stay along with some classmates for a 50th class reunion. Plenty of room/beds and a cozy atmosphere to have other classmates stop over and catch up. The dining room was the center stage for morning java, afternoon games and evening drinks with lifelong friends. The interior woodwork and original craftsmanship was breathtaking was admired by all who stopped by. Eric (host) was always available for any questions or concerns. I will definitely look into staying here again in the future!

The house was great everything was as said online. Was easy to communicate with the owner as we extended our stay and they made the entire process easy and were quick to respond

We celebrated Thanksgiving 2025 with family from La Crosse, Eau Claire & Waterford. Perfect house for all to visit. Super comfortable! The house had everything we needed. We would definitely book this again!

Great location

Visiting family. House has plenty of room and the front porch was our favorite spot - great for visiting with family or just enjoying quiet time in the morning with your coffee. Location was good - there is a park just a block down the street that the kids enjoyed.

Sparta bike trail group

It was a perfect location. We could walk to historic down town. We were lucky Butter Festival was that weekend and short walk for us. Highly recommended staying there.

Beautiful home right in town. We liked the large screen porch out front. Huge yard, although we didn't have time to enjoy it with our schedule. Well stocked dishes and utensils. Close to shops and restaurants. We enjoyed the home and biking the Elroy Sparta trail.

Clean and comfortable home. It was in a quite and calm neighborhood. We enjoyed our stay. Very close to Sparta city and convenient.

Wedding weekend with friends

We stayed here during a friend’s wedding weekend and it worked great! Plenty of room to hangout as a group. Place was clean, comfortable and full of character! Worked out excellent!

This was our third year. Great old house. Very well stocked with everything we needed. We come for the bike trails and shopping. The weather was perfect 3 days in a row.

Love the Place!

Great place to stay! We enjoyed the charm of the Prairie House! Eric (owner) was very friendly and explained some of the history of the house. There were 6 adults for our stay....plenty of room. Fun time sitting on the porch, either for morning coffee or a beverage for happy hour in the afternoon. We enjoyed the bike trails so it sure was nice to be located so close. All in our group were very complimentary with our stay.

Peaceful relaxing 61 years friendship reunion

We spent two nights in this beautiful craftsman home remembering 61 years of a wonderful friendship in a very special home. We look forward to returning in the fall. I have stayed at many VRBOs this home is one of the best finds. Thank you we shall return

Beautiful Home

We had a great time in Sparta--Biked the trail twice. We had a great meal at Fox Hole restaurant and great breakfast at Dorines. The house was great--everything you need. The owner brought us a gas grill which was great. Nice we could put the bikes in the garage overnight,
