The house was, “Almost Paradise,” as it was billed. It had everything we needed for our extended family to enjoy a great beach vacation. The location and the beach were excellent, as was the proximity to all that the Outer Banks had to offer. The property itself is definitely on the older side and the weathered decks and outdoor furniture showed their age. There were a number of fixtures and fans that were not working, but the AC was great, so it was not a big issue. Initially the property management team at Surf & Sound Realty was very welcoming and responsive, but as the week went on, communication tailed off. I would recommend this house for a family beach vacation as long as you are focused on the beach and less on an updated and modern beach house. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

The house was in a great location and was very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped if you wanted to cook and we appreciated the ice machine. The house has a comfortable layout and the pool area is great.

This house had the perfect layout for a large family. Everybody had their own space but yet there was plenty of space to all gather together too!

Nice Beach Housse

The house was as advertised, beachfront, nice size rooms. Very well equipped - Kitchen had everything you needed.

We had a great time

Kitchen well stocked with pots, pans, dishes and had everything we needed. Pool lots of fun, and easy access to a great beach. We loved it.

Overall the house was beautiful, couple of small things, the pool area could have been a lot cleaner.. pine needles everywhere and chairs were dirty with no cushions, none of the ceiling fans on the top floor worked for the entire week. The deck furniture was kinda of tossed everywhere, including blocking the top level gate when we arrived.and most of the windows seals were filled with blown sand and hard to open. But the house itself was beautiful, spacious and had plenty of games and comfortable seating with great views. The beds were comfy for all of us, washer/dryer worked great. Plenty of room for all of us, 7 adults and 1 small child. Kithrn had everything you would need, and the hot tub was enjoyable. Would rent and work with surf and sound in the future.

Amazing sunrises

Three generations of family. Loved watching the sun rise from all rooms. Having the beach all to ourselves and it being just over the dune was perfect. The stroll over the dune can be challenging if you have any problem with walking or breathing. House had everything we needed

The property was in a great location. The beach was right over the dunes. The house was nice, but definitely needs some updating. There was a burner on the stove that didn't work, not all the jets in hot tub worked, plus the headrests were gone. The upstairs strongly smelled of dog and the gate on the top deck had a broken spindal and dragged on the deck when you tried to open it. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything you needed to make meals.

Overall, the property was decent and we had a good stay, but there are a few things future renters should know. We paid for early check-in and the house was ready on time. Cleanliness was good, Wi-Fi was excellent, the smart TVs were easy to use, and the A/C worked well. Beach access through the backyard was easy, about 200 yards total to the water.The biggest issue was maintenance and communication. The upstairs ceiling fans didn’t work, and despite reporting them on day one, nothing was done. Midweek, the front doorknob came off in our hands, and two reports went unanswered. Meanwhile, we received repeated texts asking for tips for the cleaning crew.The pool was nice but small for the house’s capacity. The oven cooks very slowly, the dishwasher is small, and the grill is a basic charcoal park-style grill. The outdoor shower has very little pressure.The house is very vertical, with the main living area three floors up, so hauling groceries and luggage is a workout. Parking is limited to one narrow driveway, and overgrown bushes create a serious blind spot when backing out.The area is quiet, and the beach is beautiful, but it’s remote. Dollar General is about a mile away, while real grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping are about 30 minutes away. We enjoyed our stay with six adults, but I wouldn’t stay again simply because the location is a little more isolated than we prefer.

Grill

Loved the house but the grill was a state park style cemented to the ground uneven charcoal grill. I would have brought my own if I had known.

While we were loading up our car at 9 o’clock in the morning, the pool man came and gathered up inflatable toys from the swimming pool, destroyed them and put them in the trash. They were brand new. It was before our checkout time. I have repeatedly reached out to the management company to resolve the situation and have been completely ignored. They will not respond. Very unprofessional and poor customer service.The hot tub was working, but in disrepair.

Family fun

Home is very comfortable but starting to show the need for general updating. Living room furniture worn. deck railings throughout are loose or missing, picnic table upper level damaged. (Surf & Sound attended to removing the damaged wood but table remained unuseable). Elctrical outlets non functioning in upper level bathroom.

Everything was great, the house is perfect.

Our experience renting this property could not have been better. The agent is very responsive and easy to work with, we would definitely enjoy working with them again next year.

Loved the view

Was an awesome family week vacation, the best past was they accommodated our two mini Dachshunds. We will definitely be back!! Highly recommend this location.

Nice place to stay

Nice place to stay. Getting to beach was easy. The deck was great to sit on at night and having the pool was great for the kids. Driving to super market was the only real issue but we knew going in that this would be a 20 minute drive. Some things needed to be repaired but weren't a game changer.
