Welcome to your oceanfront vacation at Besito del Mar in Salvo. With 6 bedrooms, 5 full bathrooms, 1 half bathrooms, game room, private pool, hot tub and direct access to the beach behind the house, your family will have a comfortable and memorable vacation.

The top level of the home includes the kitchen, family room, sitting room, king master suite, half bathroom and hot tub on the deck. The sitting room has a pocket door and can be conveniently used as an office. The middle level boasts a king master suite, a queen master suite with handicap friendly walk-in shower, two guest rooms that share a hall bathroom and a laundry room. The lower level includes a bedroom with two bunk beds, a game room with pool table and tv and a full bathroom. Step outside to the private 14 ft x 28 ft pool with available heat or take the path behind the house and over the dunes directly to the beach. Rinse off after your day at the beach in the outside showers.

All levels are conveniently accessed by elevator and a ramp provides entry into the ground level door.

Maximum two housebroken dogs allowed. No other pets permitted.

TV streaming service provided. No cable TV.

Fireplace is decorative only and not for guest use.

Pool season is:
- 2024: 3/31 - 11/3
- 2025: 3/30 - 11/9

Hot tub season is:
- 2024: 3/31 - 12/1
- 2025: 3/30 - 11/30

Pool heat is $600 per week. Please contact host to purchase pool heat. Note that during times of extremely low temperature or high wind, pool may not heat to what tenant believes to be an acceptable temperature. No refund will be given due to adverse weather conditions. Pool heat requested on check-in day or later will be subject to additional convenience fee.

Sheets, bed making (minus top bunks) and bath towel sets are provided for all stays. Bath towel sets are provided for the number of people indicated in the reservation, and each set includes a bath towel, hand towel and washcloth.

Guests to furnish their own cleaning supplies, paper products and beach towels. A starter supply of toilet paper, paper towels and hand soap is provided to guests.

There are a pack 'n play and booster seat available in the house.

This home has a Sunday turnover and requires weekly rentals in high season. There is a keyless entry. Guests will receive a Welcome Guide from VRBO via email 3 days prior to check-in with their access code.

NOTE: Your safety matters. This property features an exterior security camera facing the driveway. It does not look into any interior spaces.

Beach Holiday

We had a great time at the outer banks. The house was located far enough from busy Kill Devil Hills to be quiet and relaxing and close enough if we wanted to head into town. We enjoyed our stay and would absolutely return.

It is a great house in a great spot!

Three 50/60 something couples (with two dogs) got together for our annual reunion. Mid-October 24. The house did great for our event but would work well for a family trip as well. The place was very clean when we got there. Communication was great with homeowner/manager. It is a great house, well-appointed with: -Top notch access to beach -Elevator -Pool table -Hot tub -In ground pool -Good kitchen with lots of space and pots and pans -Large dining table -Quiet reading room -Large decks -Appreciate that it is dog friendly -Beach chairs are there but getting to the end of their life -Tons of boogie boards -Very helpful beach wheelbarrow to get the stuff down and back

Wonderful beach house!

Thank you! We had a wonderful time. My partner and I had a wonderful time at this gorgeous, welcoming beach house. Over a weekend, our grown grandchildren and young grandchildren visited - and everyone had a ball! Highly recommend this great place.

Great house with lots of amenities

Very large house, all rooms are a good size and enough bathrooms that we didn’t have to share. House was very clean and in good condition. Pool and hot tub were so nice to have on site. The elevator made it easy to get everything in and out of the house. Large kitchen with everything you need. Sitting room off the kitchen was great to read, play a game or do a puzzle. We had fun playing pool in the basement too. To get to the ocean it’s a .1 walk on a path over dune, house has a nice big wheeled cart to get everything out in one trip. Also has chairs and other beach items there to use. Outside shower and foot cleaner makes it easy to get the sand off. Also speaking of sand the house somehow didn’t have sand everywhere inside which is not normally the case at a house on the beach. Lots of tvs and internet worked well. Great owner that is very helpful and answers questions super fast. Highly recommended this as a great vacation rental!!

Wonderful!!!

We had a great week at Joannes place. We communicated many times and she answered all my questions promptly. The property was clean and the layout of the house is perfect for large groups. The beds were comfortable and the elevator was a life saver! The views were better than pictured and the trek to the beach over the dunes wasnt bad at all. We highly recommend and hope to return to this lovely home!

Generally a nice home!

Stayed at besito Del Mar with my family for a week. The outdoor facilities are well thought through and the kids had a great time at the pool. We could not use the upper deck much because it needs repairs and didn’t feel safe with small kids out there. Some bug issues inside. Be sure to take your own water, there is no filtered water on the property. The host was great, let us check in a little early and park the vehicle.

The ocean ,weather and interior accommodation were great. The surrounding neighborhood of Salvo needs a facelift could use some nicer restaurants.

Dog Friendly Beach Front

This property is well stocked in the kitchen and bedrooms/bathrooms were all comfortable. Overall we had an excellent time with extended family!

Fantastic Family Vacation

We had a wonderful time staying at the beach house! There were four families in total with 5 kids under 12! We all enjoyed the heated pool every day for hours on end. The elevator was a great feature allowing us to easily unload and get a weeks worth of groceries for 13 people up to the 3rd floor in one go! The proximity to the beach was perfect. We were able to enjoy the sand with little trouble (wear shoes during the day, the sand gets HOT!). Lastly the host was very quick and responsive, immediately taking care of any issues that arose, allowing us to throughly enjoy our vacation without any worries! Overall a wonderful vacation experience!

April Family Vacay

Great location, enjoyed the house all around. Few minor issues with pool not getting warm till Thursday for swimming. General maintenance on outside cut grass trim trees and bushes. The cleaners did t do a very gd job of sweeping and putting fresh rolls toilet paper and paper towels out like was described as starter pack. But Wld definitely stay there again. My wife is handicapped and I have bad knees so the elevator was a God send. The owner was really nice and helpful and courteous. We had an incredible time and enjoyed every min. Thank you.

Nice Thanksgiving getaway

Lovely home but like most beach houses it could use some updates but nothing major. Nice size for our family of 14 ranging from 70-9 year olds. Although we brought a lot of our own cookware the house had plenty. We’re able to enjoy our thanksgiving dinner together around large table. Plenty of space to spread out for playing games, TV watching and puzzles. The boys enjoyed the pool table while others enjoyed spending time in hot tub. Had a few minor issues but owner had someone there to correct right away which was really nice. Heck she even had Amazon deliver wine glasses when I told her there wasn’t but a couple and we’re were big wine drinkers. Now that’s what I call someone that cares. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Loved our stay

We loved our stay. The house was clean. We absolutely loved the location.There are some things that could be updated, but everything worked as specified. The pool had an issue with the heater and it was not heated when we arrived, but Joanne was so very helpful and responsive. The pool guy got it fixed quickly and we were even refunded part of the fee. We loved the layout of the house with the rooms on the second and third floor, each having access to the decks. The hot tub was great and had a wonderful view of the ocean. We did not use the grill, because we brought our own. It did look like it needed cleaned though. Overall, it was wonderful and we would stay there again. A big thank you to Joanne for being so quick and responsive. She also took the time to validate my concerns prior to our stay based on other people’s reviews.

Ophelia crashes 60th bday!

The house is a perfect size and set up for a large group. Great beach location. One of the deciding factors was the elevator as I brought my parents in their 80’s, it really was ideal for them and for getting all the supplies to the third floor kitchen. We rode out Tropical Storm Ophelia and other than some water leaks the house is pretty solid! We will definitely have stories for years to come! Overall a great vacation.

Check in was easy and contactless. Found the house and property clean. There was enough room for all of us. Found some sand throughout flooring but to be expected. Probably more when we left even though we swept daily. Great location and easy access to beach. Only a couple things need to be improved. 1. Fix sliding doors, they need an overhaul. 2. Replace kitchen faucet, hard to turn off. Joanne was readily available and addressed a couple concerns while we were there in a timely fashion. Much appreciated. Overall a great experience for our family.

House Needs Deep Cleaning and Upgrades

The house is in a great location. Lots of room. Great views. HOWEVER… the house was dirty. Cleaning service was there less than two hours. The house was full of sand. The lower floors had a musty smell. We had to go buy several plug in air fresheners and Swifters to clean all the floors. There was a broken toilet and the jacuzzi tub gad a broken handle so no one could use it. Microwave stopped working on Wednesday and wasn’t fixed during our stay. Pool had weeds growing all around it. Bath tub/shower drains were slow to drain. Bath mats were dirty. Mold on the shower curtains. Dust everywhere. We paid too much money for any of these things to occur. Such a shame because it is set up nicely.

Leaks, sandfilled sheets/floors, extremely dusty, broken appliances, unusable grill

The location of the property is very desirable but the house itself as well as the cleanliness was lacking. Upon exploring the house, we found that the floors in the bedrooms were covered with sand and slept in sand filled beds the first night. We had to wash all our bedding the following day as well as clean the floors. The grill was unusable due to heavy debris/char, the blender did not work, the childs high chair was missing the safety straps, there is a leak on the jet tub faucets, the sliding door in the main area had a water leak as well as the door in the top floor bedroom, the lamp was glued together & the pool table had damage to the felt & a large stain. We also found that the hot tub was not clean, which we contacted the owner and she sent out maintenance to deal with it in a timely manner. She also offered to send the cleaning lady back out but we had already cleaned ourselves. Later in our stay, we found that the pool heater quit working due to the water in the pool being too low to filter through the pump. We informed the owner of all of these issues which some she was aware of and did not inform us prior to our stay. She also informed us that it is “standard practice” that the quilts on the bed not be washed after every guest. The owner did refund half of the pool heat cost due to our issues. This was our first rental from VRBO and were very disappointed. I would not recommend this property to family or friends due to the list of issues we encountered.

Wonderful vacation

We had a wonderful stay at this house. It was spacious, clean and in a great location. It was perfect for our large group ranging from toddlers to grandparents. The host checked-in with us to ensure everything was okay and answered our questions quickly. We really enjoyed watching the sunrise each morning from the ocean-facing decks. We hope to stay here again in the future!

Great place! Amazing views and amenities.

This was an amazing place to stay. The house was immaculate inside. Lots of room to spread out and enjoy our honeymoon. Everything we could have asked for. The grounds of the property were good but needs to be cleaned up a bit. Other guests have left unwanted beach gear and trash on grounds. Driveway needs to be manicured a bit, with the trees and shrubs encroaching in on the driveway, made it a little tight getting in. We are definitely going be staying there again.

Excellent location in the South end, that's about it

Enjoyable trip with family and friends and the house offered the perfect location for us to enjoy the beach and sceneries in the area. The communication issue was mainly with the VRBO app not working. The inbox (messaging between homeowner and myself) was not loading for a couple of days when we had the smoke detector/CO alarm issue at 5am. Handyman arrived the next day after phone calls. The biggest negative about this house is cleanliness. Aside from the wear and tear of the entire house - dipping floors, broken cabinet drawers and laundry door, ripped curtains, ripped sofa, loud exhaust; we also found a dead cockroach in the tub. we were told the house was on a pest control program but the dining table was sticky, fans and chandeliers need dusting, entire house need a general cleaning. we left the kitchen cleaner than we found it. there are also trash - old inflatables and swimming/beach gear strewn about property within the fenced in pool and driveway. the house needs a lot of repairs and upgrading. recommend getting this done to refresh the listing. Unfortunately, we will not stay here again.
