Book your Perfect Private Beach Get Away!

Lake Effect is a gorgeous, completely remodeled three bedroom, two bath beach home with expansive sunset views of Lake Michigan and Fox Island. Our home has a chef quality fully stocked kitchen with stainless appliances, wine cooler and granite countertops. There is a wood stove and a beach fire pit. A very large deck running the length of the home with a wood walkway to you own private beach (100 ft). Wood floors, tempurpedic beds and high quality finishes with luxurious bedding make your get away perfect!

Located one mile south of the lighthouse on the very tip of the Leelanau Peninsula, you are welcomed by nature, dunes, hiking trails and of course water. Our home is approximately 6 miles north of the Village of Northport. Enjoy hiking, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, tennis and golf in town and visiting all the wineries and unique shops on the peninsula.

stunning view

We celebrated Thanksgiving at this lovely house on Cathead Bay. The wintry weather added to the magic of this amazing spot looking right out at Lake Michigan. The kitchen had all we needed and more. All bedrooms were comfortable. Short walk on a boardwalk from the house to the beach. Would love to return!

WONDERFUL!

We rented this lovely home for a little fall getaway with our daughter and son-in-law and two precious pups. The home has a breathtaking view of Lake Michigan. It is very spacious, well maintained, and comfortable. If you choose to prepare your meals, all of the kitchen gear you need is available. But don’t miss out on the great dining options in Northport as well as other towns nearby. Do not hesitate to rent this gem. Enjoy!

Great experience

The house was very comfortable. The bed and linens were good quality and the kitchen was nicely stocked. The beach is close, in nice condition and very private. Amazing sunsets every night. The hosts were also very responsive. Overall a great experience and would recommend.

A wonderful vacation spot

We spent a wonderful week here over the 4th of July. The house was extremely clean and welcoming. There was more than enough space for our family of 4, you could easily have a larger group and not feel crowded. The views from deck were amazing. We all enjoyed the beach and spent a lot of time down there. The kids could walk and walk in the water and only be up to their waist. The kitchen had everything we needed and then some, the dishes/pans are all in excellent shape and make cooking easy. We definitely recommend staying here. We were sad to leave.

Girls Getaway

What a trip! This home did not disappoint!! Great beds, clean home, beautiful water . The house is situated in the pines that opens up to a grassy area and a beautiful beach. Bon Fires, Kayaking, hiking trail just down the road. The sunsets are to die for and I was able to photograph the Milky Way and Northern lights right on the beach and decks. Calling all photographers, this place is the best! We loved it!!

Beautiful View

Lake Effect has a beautiful dune view of Lake Michigan, with boardwalk access and stairs to the lake shore. There are two downstairs bedrooms which share a bathroom (shower) and a large upstairs bedroom with private bath (jetted tub). Nearby homes are close but visually screened by thick pine/cedar vegetation, unlike homes further south which have little vegetation. The kitchen was fully stocked with some unique glass drink & serviceware, and had everything we needed. The home also has a number of other unique glass & ceramic works, as well as other interesting artwork. The beach side of Lake Effect has three expansive windows with an awesome view, but unfortunately, several windows have broken seals with moisture which somewhat obscures the view. The sofa is also uncomfortably worn & soiled, and dining chairs are also uncomfortable and flimsy. Most everything was exceptionally clean with the exception of under the sofa, clumps of dog hair under the floor lamp at the side, and dusty dining chandelier. You might want to bring your own pillows, since the bed pillows are very lumpy. However, these last aspects are minimal, and the our overall stay was enjoyable. Just a few things to be aware of. Christina was very friendly and responsive.

Perfect escape

The property is 15 min from the town of Northport, quiet, and private. The house has the most beautiful view of cathead bay and a private beach. It accommodates 3 couples nicely with 2 bedrooms and bath downstairs, and one bedroom and bath upstairs. The house has lovely, comfortable furniture, a well stocked kitchen, and outdoor equipment such as kayaks and bikes. We loved our stay!

Everything was perfect for our stay, and this was the best equipped vacation rental I have ever rented. Clean and stocked with the essentials. Location can’t be beat, and rooms we’re comfortable.

Relaxing Escape

Property was exactly as expected. Beautiful views and quiet/serene surroundings. The water in front of the property was a bit cloudy with algae when we first arrived, but we were able to find clear water on the other side of the peninsula. The water cleared up after a storm, as well. We enjoyed grilling on the deck, spending time on the beach, and exploring the local parks and downtown Northport. We had a relaxing vacation which is all you can ask for in a beachside property. Communication with owner was seamless.

Amazing view

This home is amazing. Absolutely stunning views first and foremost, and immaculately clean. There was everything that we needed in the kitchen, including spices etc. because we like to cook. You feel like you’re in the woods but you can walk right out to Lake Michigan, which is beautiful. We would recommend this home to anyone looking to enjoy Michigan at its finest.

Peaceful beach getaway

A perfect quiet place to stay on a beautiful stretch of beach, with no unpleasant surprises. The details in the listing were all accurate and the space seemed even larger than what the photos implied (no closets labeled as bedrooms). The separation of the bedrooms would make this perfect for a small group of friends. This is a great section of beach and the trees to either side of the house nicely screen the neighboring cottages. I would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful location, very clean and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable the property really has everything you could need. It was hot which was awesome for beach days and the room fans were great at night. Very easy checking in and Christina’s place was definitely as advertised.

Amazing

This place was even better than the photos, and we loved every minute of our stay there. The view is gorgeous, the beach feels secluded, and the house is well stocked and comfortable, with really nice decorating. Owners are very friendly and quick to respond to any questions as well. We have stayed at many lakefront rentals in Michigan and this one is at our top for places we'd love to return to.

Great Experience

The walk to the water is a lot shorter than it looks in the pictures and the overall stay was great. The inside was very clean and well kept. The location was nice and secluded, with lots of stars. The town of Northport was nice as well with lots of history but very welcoming. My family definitely plans on renting again in the future.
