Elk Trail Cabin is perfect for anyone seeking a relaxing, adventurous, or fun family getaway in the quiet town of Packwood, WA. Nestled on 2.5 acres, this modern cabin is equipped with up-to-date amenities, a living room view of Skyo Mountain, access to Johnson Creek and the Cowlitz River, a hot tub, lots of space for any yard game you could imagine, and plenty of privacy. Enjoy herds of elk grazing in the front lawn while you sip coffee in the morning or after an evening meal. Elk Trail Cabin is two hours south of Seattle and two hours north of Portland. From this property, White Pass Ski Area is a 25-minute drive, Mt. Rainier National Park entrance is 12 miles away, and Mt. St. Helens is an hour drive. Within a 10-minute drive, a variety of pristine mountain lakes and hiking trails are waiting to be explored. Whether you are an outdoor enthusiast seeking an adventure, or you are looking for a peaceful place to relax and read a book, Elk Trail Cabin is calling your name!

We had a wonderful stay at this home in Packwood! It was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed to feel comfortable. The location was perfect for exploring Mt. Rainier National Park, and we really appreciated the convenience after long days of hiking and sightseeing. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area!

Great homebase for our Mount Rainier hiking excursions. There were deer and elk in the immediate neighborhood each morning at sunrise, a wonderful plus. The house was great, beds comfortable, everything clean - great stay. Thanks so much.

Lovely home!

We had a wonderful stay! It is always fun when your family sees a home for the first time and says, "Wow!" We loved the sitting area with the giant windows. The home was very clean and comfortable (however, the bed upstairs was too soft for us, so we slept downstairs). It was a great base for exploring Mount Rainier NP. We would definitely stay here again.

The house was an absolute dream. The fireplace was massive and beautiful. The setting was perfect at the base of Mt. Rainier. We came back from hiking to be greeted by 15 elk sitting in the front yard.

This home was spacious, centrally located and well stocked. Elk came into the front yard a few evenings, we enjoyed watching them from the large deck.

Prior to our stay we traveled across the Olympic Peninsula so we were hopping from hotel to hotel. It felt so nice to land in a home for a few days. The house was clean, cozy, and perfect for our short stay. We loved watching the elk graze in the yard on our first night while relaxing in the hot tub!

Quiet and Peaceful

Just what my niece and I needed after 2 weeks land and sea Alaska. Also, the hot tub was great after hiking at Mt. Rainier. Could have used instructions on how to turn on surround sound speakers but all-in-all a relaxing stay. Thank you.

Perfect getaway cabin

Our stay went off without a hitch. The property was easy to find at night. The house was just as advertised and exceeded our expectations in person. The house was clean and well stocked and nicely decorated for the holiday season. We would definitely stay here again.

This property is magical. Spent the weekend before Christmas with my family and cherished every moment. It’s a beautiful house and very quiet. The last day, a herd of 30 elk came into the yard. Very pleased.

12/10!!! loved our stay

This house was amazing! We booked this house to explore Mt. Rainier and didn't disappoint us. We watched falling starts with the kids while in the hot tub at night, relaxing from the hikes. Packwood downtown was so cute and we enjoyed watching elks eating grass in the morning in front yard. Overall, it was a great stay!

Gateway to Rainier

It was a great place for our family to use as a base for exploring Mt. Rainier. It had all the comforts we needed and plenty of great space. Had the added benefit of getting to see a whole herd of elk even with little babies walk through the front yard.

Needs some TLC and pest control

Overall the house was nice and the placement near Mt. Rainier was great. The inside was a bit dirty with cobwebs and dust. The furniture was old and uncomfortable. There were several holes in the outside flashing around the deck. We found a dead mouse in the sink and quite a few ants on the counter.

Beautiful Home

We really enjoyed our stay here. While we were unlucky and didnt see elk at the house, we still saw a ton around town. The kitchen was well equipped and everything that we needed was there. The 2 story fireplace was gorgeous. Highly recommended staying here for some peace and quiet while only being 5 minutes from town!

Gorgeous location and incredibly responsive host

My friends and I loved our stay. The photos are beautiful, but when you get there, there's a tranquility that can't be captured in a picture. Waking up in the morning and seeing the mist roll through the trees from the giant windows is something you just have to experience here at Elk Trail Lodge. The host is incredibly responsive, even during the stay when questions came up. Not only do my friends and I highly recommend you book your stay here, we'll be back ourselves. *We did not see elk during our stay, but we know they were around.

Beautiful property. Convenient to Hwy 12 for exploring the area, but remote enough to have dark skies for gazing at the amazing stars and Milky Way from the hot tub and deck. Great house. Hit all the boxes for a family experience.

This is a very lovely property in a wonderful HOA neighborhood with beautiful walks available right out your front door! My husband really enjoyed the expansive yard big enough to practice his disc golfing in! :) It felt very private and just sitting on the deck was a joy! We loved how the out-of-doors is invited into every room with all the big windows! The kitchen was very well equipped with a large island, great refrigerator, and a gas stove. We enjoyed doing jig saw puzzles and playing games on the large kitchen table. Packwood and nearby nature is at your fingertips! Enjoy!
