Welcome to Casa Sonrisa! Walk everywhere from this darling casita in the hip & historic Guadalupe/Railyard neighborhood. Available to rent year-round, for multi-day, weekly, and monthly stays.

In this sweet adobe home, every effort has been made to assure you of a comfortable and memorable stay, starting with a 'welcome' bottle of New Mexico wine. We've decorated our casita with local art and furniture, and hope that it will feel like your own cheerful home in Santa Fe.

2 bedrooms sleep 4 people, with a queen bed in one room and a king bed in the other. Each is made up with a down comforter (non-down/hypo-allergenic comforters available upon request). There is also a sofa in the living room that folds out into a full-size bed, accommodating 1-2 more people. The master bedroom boasts its own kiva fireplace, and both bedrooms share a private outdoor patio. There is a bathroom adjoining the master bedroom, and another large bathroom in the main hallway. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan.

(Please note that the queen bed is somewhat high off the floor for some elderly or very young guests.)

The house is equipped with all the conveniences you might need during your stay: wifi, 2 televisions and DVD players, cable, a stereo, iPod speakers, W/D, D/W, linens/towels, hairdryers, terrycloth spa robes, and extra toiletries.

Traditional in style, the casita features extra high viga (beam) ceilings, 2 kiva fireplaces, brick floors throughout, and Mexican tile in the bathrooms and kitchen. Casa Sonrisa is a one-level home, making it a comfortable option for those who prefer no stairs.

There is off-street parking in front of the house for 1 vehicle.

We are pleased to offer a non-smoking environment.

Stay at Casa Sonrisa in Santa Fe

First of all, and most importantly, we would stay at Casa Sonrisa again. It is very roomy with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The kitchen comes very well supplied with cooking utensils, spices, condiments, coffee, and all necessary appliances. There is a grill on the patio and furniture outside to enjoy the outside early spring weather. Downtown Santa Fe is only a five-minute walk. Taru supplied a full list of places to visit, like galleries and museums, restaurants and cafes, breweries and wineries, including a wine store and patio right across the street from our rental.The Railyard and Farmers' Market are short walks away. Public transportation is good. Buses run frequently, even on the weekends. The vast majority of storekeepers are dog-friendly. The property manager was easy to contact and responsive to our questions. There was off-street parking, though it was a little tight, but manageable. The dog park was within a mile and very large. Unfortunately, dog owners do not watch their pets as closely as they should, so if you go to The Ortiz, keep a sharp eye on your dog as well as other owners and dogs. Again, the next time we visit Santa Fe, we will want to rent Casa Sonrisa again.

Perfect little home with great access to town

We had a great stay at this home. It is a very well appointed home and a fully stocked kitchen. The home has great NM decor and is very comfy with an outdoor area to grill or sit and enjoy breakfast or coffee. We used the home as our base for exploring downtown Santa Fe and for hiking in the area. Thank you for the use of your home!

A Delightful and Relaxing Stay!

The property was everything we had hoped it would be… the location, comfort, amenities, communication, and charm were all 5 star. We particularly enjoyed the kiva fireplace. Can’t wait to return!

Great casita for Santa Fe getaway

Loved this casita! Heated floors gave it a very warm and comfy feeling. Centrally located and in walking distance of amazing restaurants, the railyard with farmers market and artist markets, and shopping. Not far from downtown Santa Fe as well. I would stay here again!

Great location, great casita

This is my third month long stay in this casita. I love its location, outside patios, and roomy layout. It’s my home away from home whenever I stay in Santa Fe.

Enchanted Perfection!

We could not have been more pleased and satisfied with this charming casita. Exactly as described (better, actually) - amenities were perfect, the property is so lovely and the location is ideal. Great place to chill

Great location. Easy walk to farmers market and restaurants. Very spacious inside. Well stocked kitchen with everything you would need to cook. Quiet neighborhood. Would recommend.

Comfortable casita in a great neighborhood

I had another lovely stay in this casita. It’s in a great neighborhood within walking distance to both the downtown and the Railyard District. I felt like a local during my month long stay as it has all the conveniences of home and is very comfortable and spacious.

Santa Fe style and comfort

We enjoyed our two-week stay at this lovely home with Santa Fe design and comfort. The rental was very well equipped for all of our needs, and included many small touches we don't typically find in vacation rentals, including a welcome bottle of wine, robes, and toiletries. We also found the location was highly desirable, and enjoyed walking to shopping and restaurants.

Fantastic Casita

We had a great time in Santa Fe, in part due to our lodging. The casita was clean, cute and comfy and was within walking distance of a lot of things to do in town. Taru and Mary even provided a bottle of wine for our stay. Communication with them and the property manager was easy and instructions were very clear. I would definitely stay here again if returning to Santa Fe.

Pandemic Getaway

The property was perfect. I travelled with my adult daughter and son. My daughter had to work each morning until 11a. The internet was fantastic, and I was able to sit outside and enjoy the environiment. There was plenty of space for us all to enjoy our time. It was so convenient to walk to the plaza or other restaurants at night. Tanya, the caretaker was so sweet brining over a bottle of wine ;even the yoga mat was a nice touch--we used it. Such a homey comfortable place. If I had to provide any suggestion, it might be to have town maps available at the location, although we got around just fine. When we return to Santa Fe we will definitely try to stay there again. Judy, Josh and Rachel

Great location and great service!

We enjoyed our stay - what a lovely, cozy and comfortable place! Taru and Mary were extremely responsive at check-in and when we needed to extend our stay by one night. We had everything we needed and in a great location within walking distance of restaurants and local attractions. Great for my husband and I with our two adult kids. The only time we drove was to get to the ski valley. Thanks for a great place to stay! We'll be back :)

Comfort and location

The description of the property and the previous reviews were accurate. The location is terrific for walking around the Historic District, Plaza, Canyon Rd., and a short walk/drive to groceries, etc. . If you venture out to Meow Wolf, the distance is not far by car. All the wanna see, have to see, ingredients to Santa Fe are close to a short car ride in distance. We did stay a month, which for July means we did catch a lot of high temperature days. The accommodation has a lot of air moving fans along with ceiling fans in the bedrooms. For us, we had come up from Arizona and having lived in Santa Fe previously we found everything so "Santa Fe" compensated along with the beautiful sunsets, sunrise and skies. The option for eating and hiking "Amazing. Local eateries fairly outnumber any brand. We had a lot of visitors in our months stay & to everyones enjoyment the city and the property met or exceeded their expectations too.

We're a mother and daughter who own the house together. Our family is originally from the Washington, DC area, and we also lived in Rome, Italy for 4 years. Currently, my mother lives in Virginia, and I live in Washington, DC. We're avid fans of the arts, especially music (our photo is at the Santa Fe opera), and lovers of the outdoors. Santa Fe is a great place for those things and more.

Casa Sonrisa is our family's home when we're in town, but primarily a vacation rental property for most of the year. While we are not local, our gracious caretaker will be available for any questions or concerns you may have during your stay. We look forward to hosting you soon!

The Guadalupe/Railyard neighborhood is thriving, with lots of shops, restaurants, galleries, and a great farmer's market within walking distance. Plus, the Santa Fe's famous plaza is just a short 10-minute walk away. Since we put down roots in this part of town in 2004, it continues to evolve and become more interesting every time we visit.
