Welcome to Big Mountain Cabin #1! Enjoy a new custom built experience. This cabin offers an open floor plan with high vaulted ceiling and a custom beam design. Cabin #1 is centrally located in the Black Hills just a few miles south of Rockerville. Many attractions are just a short drive away.
Mount Rushmore - 8 miles
Custer State Park - 12 miles
Michelson Trail - 12 miles
Reptile Gardens - 7 miles
Bear Country USA - 5 miles

Cabin #1 offers a kitchen stocked with dinner ware, pot and pan, utensils, toaster, coffee maker, and outdoor grill. Relax in a bed room that has a custom built queen log bed with a memory foam mattress. It has a fully furnished bathroom that provides a full tub and shower. All linens and towels are provided.

For all you hiking enthusiasts, this cabin is close to many national forest trails including Boulder Hill Mountain Trail. This trail head is 2.2 miles from Cabin #1. And for all you mountain bike enthusiasts, this cabin is 2 miles from Storm Mountain Trail. Storm Mountain trail offers 11.61 miles of pure fun!

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
- Our cabins are on a hillside and there is only enough parking for one vehicle. If you have a extra vehicle, trailer, or motorcycle please message us before you make your reservation.
- If you are riding on a motorcycle, we ask that you be an experienced rider. The road to this cabin has loose gravel. If you have any questions please message us.

This cabin was cute and cozy and in an ideal location for exploring The Black Hills. It was exceptionally clean and well equipped with everything that we needed. Jenn, the host, quickly responded to messages and checked to make sure things were good. We loved our stay and would definitely stay again.

Close to most amenities, while still feeling a bit remote. The cabin was immaculate and host was quick to respond to questions and reached out a few times to make sure everything was going smoothly. The space was just the right size and had everything we needed!

Great little cabin

Everything is new and nice. The location was great for us. There needs to be a place to put toiletries and suitcases. The bed was very soft.

Comfort in the Black Hills

This cabin is absolutely charming. It is perfect for a couple. The place was exceptionally clean. It had everything we needed for our 4 night stay. The location was very convenient to the attractions in the Black Hills. Jenn was a wonderful host.

Black Hills Vacation

Overall beautiful stay! The cabin was perfect for the two of us! Very clean and the owner was more then accommodating. We had problems with our hotel and I reached out to Jennifer and she had the cabin available and let us come early as the cabin had already been vacant. Will stay again! Great hosts 10/10 5 stars!

Anniversary trip

We chose the cabin because it was rustic looking but very modern inside. It provided outside seating to enjoy the outdoors. Amenities were as promised. Hosts were always available to answer any questions. We would give this a 10!

Enjoyable!

Adorable little cabin for just the two of us. Couch for a little TV watching was uncomfortable but could easily watch from the comfy bed. Everything we needed and within driving distance of all the sites. Would definitely recommend to a friend!

Cute, Clean, Comfortable!

Very cute cabin with everything you'd need for a nice stay. Very clean. Easy to find with great location between Rapid City and the outer historical sites. The morning sunshine streaming directly in and the close proximity to the highway were the only downsides but not enough to keep us away for another wonderful visit!!

A great place to stay central to all our South Dakota adventures.

The cabin was perfect for our stay. We were as far east as Badlands NP and as far west as Devil's Tower. The site of the cabin was perfect for our week. The location provided easy access to some great dinners in Rapid City, Custer state park, Black Hills, Mount Rushmore, and more! A couple of things I would do if staying there again. Bring soap. The "Basic soaps" as listed on the site was good for 1 day. Also, if staying during early summer, it would help to have eye masks as the sun shines in unshaded windows starting at 5:30am. Overall, loved it! Also, I couldn't have asked for more from the host, answering our questions and checking in during our stay. Thanks you!

Very clean and comfortable for 2. Location was just right, allowing us just a short drive to all the must see small towns, and parks. Spearfish canyon, Custer state park nature loop and Deadwood were our favorites

Jude and Jenn are the owners and operators of Big Mountain Cabins. Jude is a skilled log home builder, and has been building log homes for 30 years. In fact Jude built each cabin from the ground up. Jenn has experience in hotel management and a degree in Business administration. Both took their talents and built Big Mountain Cabins. Jude and Jenn have lived in the Black Hills for a good part of their lives. Jenn is actually a fifth generation to live in the Black Hills. A fun fact is the cabins are located a mile from where Jenn's great great grandparents homestead. Jude and Jenn are proud to call the Black Hills their home!
