The Keauhou Surf and Racquet Club is a gated community of condominiums. There are three professional style tennis courts with night lighting. The large remodeled swimming pool is ideal for “laps” and also for small children and other water activities. Showers and restrooms are conveniently located in the large pavilion near the swimming pool and tennis courts.
One of the most interesting features of the Keauhou Surf and Racquet Club are the numerous archaeological sites. These preserved areas provide a glimpse of Hawaiian life years ago. Each site has a posted description of the activities that took place years and years ago.
The Keauhou Surf and Racquet Club has many gardens and walking trails. ONE GOES DIRECTLY TO A BEACH!! Flowers and tropical foliage are abundant. There are several outdoor barbecue areas for guests to go to.

Located just below the Keauhou Shopping Center and around the corner from Keauhou Bay, you'll be close to lots of great shopping, dining, banking, movie theater, water sports, fishing, snorkeling, golfing and more!

Relaxing in Paradise

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this resort. The unit supplied us with lots of beach accessories, which really came in handy. We spent many hours relaxing on the lanai. The lanai as well as the unit adequately accommodated our family of eight. We would definitely book here again.

Great place to stay!

Our stay was nothing short of amazing! Check-in and was smooth and contactless. Place was clean and had everything we needed to make meals and entertain our family. Enclosed lanai was great bonus! Pool and surrounding amenities were perfect for the younger and older kids. Would definitely book again!

Had boogie boards, chairs, sand toys, and beach towels that made the beach days so much better. Kitchen was very impressive with cookware / utensils you may need and spices. Had a great island guide book to help plan your days.Only complaint would be that you pay extra for air conditioning (totally fine) but the screen in the window of the front bedroom doesn't seal or lock (there was some tape trying to hold it shut but it's still gapped). So you have to be okay with sleeping with your window screen gapped by your head or a very warm bedroom(if you don't pay for a/c). With the windows open the house cools off beautifully (no A/C needed)

Read fine print outside of VRBO. You sign a contract with property managment company.

Kona Racquet club is good. Nice grounds and good location south of Kona Town area. Knutson is difficult to deal with and unfriendly. After our contract was signed with them and rooms booked 7 months in advance they told us we would need to check out the last day of trip at 7:00am because the building needed to be exterminated for bugs. Our flight that day was at 7:00pm. During our flight to Kona they tried to charge our card because the additional Air Conditioning fee wasn't added. They told us the A/c units will be shut off before our arrival. This was all in a voicemail that we couldn't receive on the plane and do anything about until the following day after we landed. My son called to pay for additional A/C fee but their credit card machine wasn't working. He offered to drive to office to pay but they couldn't accept cash. He ultimately had to drive to their personal bank to make a deposit directly into their account. 🙃 Although the condo was equipped with everything imaginable . It could have been cleaner and updated. The cost of the condo and advertising pictures did not meet our expectations.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is an amazing condo in so many ways, large and small. First of all, the condo complex itself is very nice with mature landscaping and good maintenance. The condo is in an ideal location in a very private corner of the complex. We were there for 4 weeks and other than the complex staff, we rarely saw anyone walk by our lanai. The large screened lanai was just amazing. Having the screening made the lanai feel much more private and made this large condo seem even larger. There is a private large lawn area out from the lanais of Building 6 with a gas grill and charcoal grilling area with lighting out at the edge of the lawn. Although it isn't obvious in the condo photos, there is a lanai screening panel that slides opens to the lawn area. The condo is well appointed with lots of nice extra touches. There are plenty of towel rings and bars in the bathrooms and even a towel bar in the kitchen. Loved the lights strung in the ceiling of the lanai. The folding laundry rack was also very helpful and great for beach towels and swimsuits. The dry bar on the lanai was a very nice touch...especially having the extra small fridge for canned drinks. The dry bar countertop was really pretty...dark gray with blue flakes that either faded to dark blue or became iridescent light blue depending on which way you looked at it The washer and dryer were top notch and the dishwasher was so quiet you barely could hear it. The owner is the author of a published book about Big Island that is a good read. It's in the drawer below the TV. If you are considering this first floor condo due to mobility issues, be advised that there are 6 steps up to the front door (4 then 2) and you will not be able to use the assigned parking space in front of the condo. There are plenty of guest spaces just beyond the Building 6 parking area.The Knutson & Associates staff were very helpful and quick to respond to a minor issue we had. Their app was great and the check in/check out process very easy.

Beautiful Location

We had a wonderful stay in this condo. The kitchen is very well stocked and surprised us with the spices and seasonings available along with all the cookware and dishes. We were also so pleased to see all the beach chairs, towels and snorkeling equipment. This is not listed in the property description but should be as we wouldn’t have packed our own beach towels. The screened in lanai is so nice and the condo has a very nice secluded feel to it. Upon arrival, we did notice that there were a few things that were broken. The property managers had reached out to us to see how everything was and we reported the broken items They were very attentive and offered to have someone come out to fix. We declined as it wasn’t Imperative . Property grounds are immaculate as well. We had a family reunion and had rented out several other condos in this complex. I feel that ours was the best stocked as far as kitchen and amenities. Highly recommend

Be aware of extra charges

The condo was great. We enjoyed our stay very much. Was disappointed to find a 1500 dollar charge on our credit card with no explanation or receipt. When we questioned VRBO , they stated it was for AC. They stated we asked for this on the booking site. We have no recollection of this. I would rather know our total cost up front so would rather the AC be added into the cost per night at the beginning. Otherwise our trip was excellent.

Great condo!

Very nice... loved the fact that it has 2 ensuites with the 2 bedrooms! The screened in porch was great for mornings and evenings! As a note, the screened in porch screen door out to grass area doesn't lock properly. We really enjoyed the property!

Beware of Check Out Procedures!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great stay, however, the check out email was a very sad and unpleasant experience. Our family was careful with the white carpet in the living/dining room areas. We cleaned and followed check out protocol. We did not use the lanai area for entertaining, except for the diningroom table for the children (no white carpet and the tile was easy to wipe up any little spills). Upon checkout, we made sure the diningroom table was wiped off. There is a blue couch in the lanai. Since we did not use the seating in the lanai, nobody thought to check the couch. Apparently our two year old touched the cushions with his sticky pineapple popsicle hands and we didn't see the marks. The cleaning staff refused to spot clean the sticky spots and the entire couch along with throw pillows were professionally steam cleaned and we were charged $261.00. I received an email two days after checking out notifying me of the charges. I immediately asked why the cleaning staff did not spot clean and was told there was not time because of an incoming reservation. I called the steam cleaning company and they verified that the cleaning was done 2 days after our check out and that the unit was empty. When I reached back out to Knutson & Associates about the "LIE" they provided me, they changed the story and said that the cleaning was beyond their staff's capabilities. Since you are forced to pay an insurance fee of $49 for a premium to cover $1000 worth of insurance for damage or carpet/furniture cleaning, I asked if the insurance would cover the $261. They denied our request because they said we should have reported the sticky spots before our 11 am checkout. Knutson & Associates have refused to return my phone calls and I am stuck paying for the steam cleaning. BEWARE, when you check out to look at everything with a magnifying glass. We will not rent anything associated with Knutson & Associates again.
